Chapter One
Reanna kicked the blue-striped seat in front of her. The plane was so bumpy, that it made it really hard to kick it. She was so antsy, she could hardly stand it. She'd already done all the activities she could: coloring, drawing, reading, listening to music. She just didn't want to do it anymore.
"Honey, are you okay?" her mom asked, turning as she talked.
"I'm just really bored," Reanna said, twining her arms around her legs.
"I know honey, but we're not even close to-" she was interrupted by a loud, long screech. At first, everyone just ignored it. Then came another loud and annoying screech that made everyone cover their ears in pain. Nervous chatter filled the plane, along with a squealing baby. There was a sign at the front that read in between blinks, "Please do not panic, and get buckled tight. We are going to crash." Or something like that. Reanna was too excited to care.
The plane tilted downward, then up again. Everyone quickly buckled up tight. The baby cried louder as the plane started to go faster and faster down. Reanna started shaking as she realized what was really happening. She tapped her mom on the shoulder and cried, "I love you, mom."
Her mom smiled, a forced smile, really. Then she replied, "I love you too, Reanna-Banana." That was Reanna's nickname, ever since she was a tiny baby. That tipped Reanna over the edge, causing her to cry, making long streaks of tears fall upon her rosy cheeks.
"Shhhhh," her mother soothed. "It's alright baby, we'll be okay," she said with another forced smile. Reanna stopped crying for her mother's sake. She crossed her fingers and hoped the pilot would figure something out to save them all. But to no avail. The plane just kept falling and falling. Screeches of the plane and screams of anxious people filled the air. This had to be a nightmare, Reanna thought. Then she scrunched her eyes tight, waiting for the impact. It came with a big jolt that made Reanna smack her head against the seat and fall unconscious.
