Chapter One: Day Off

Louis lay on his red satin bed, in nothing but his boxers as he studied the latest cover of the houses playboy magazine.

On the front Louis stood with cats ears placed on his feathery head as he held the end of his fake tail in an innocent pose. Although his clothing in the photo was far from innocent. He was wearing a pair of tight black boxers and nothing more. He was glancing at the camera, looking as if he didn't know what he was dressed as or why he was being photographed.

Louis smiled, proud of himself for making the cover yet again. He thought it was one of his best photos. Not only was he shown off how he often acts- shy- but he was also dressed up, since he was little Louis loved to dress up.

His mum would often remind him of the times when he'd dress as the Disney princesses and run around the house demanding everyone did as he wanted because he was the princess and princceses always get want they want.

But back to the magazine. Rarely did the 'innocent' pictures make the front cover but the fact Louis had his innocent shot there made him feel elated.

The house released a magazine every two weeks and he often made the cover, his personal record was four months as cover boy. He held the record in the house, the closest anyone else had was two months.

He spent a few more moments looking at, and appreciating, the magazine before putting it in a draw he reserved for the magazines with him on the cover. He'd need a second soon.

Flopping back on his bed he picked up his phone.

Mummy: Dinner at ours tonight? xx

He smiled, he loved spending time with his family. No matter how many embarrassing princess stories his mum told. He loved being with them as much as being in the playhouse, if not more. Obviously his family didn't know about his.. career path and Louis intended to keep it that way.

After all no mother wants to see her son as an erotic model and porn artist. It's not a career that gives his family a good name and its not a respectful profession. Louis liked his job, clearly, but there was no doubt in his mind that if his mother knew she would flip out.

Boo: Sure mum! Give me an hour, see ya soon. Xx

Dropping his phone Louis walked to his wardrobe to choose what to wear to dinner. Obviously not his work uniform.

~*~*~*~

Louis walked up to his mothers front door, dressed in casual skinny jeans and a simple white top with tan coloured braces. He didn't get to wear clothes like this often and liked to wear quirky things that showed off his personality as often as he could.

He was shy, yes. But that was mainly when things were personal or he was meeting someone new. Around his family, he was anything but shy.

They accepted him and all his odd quirks. Including his sexuality.

His sister Lottie was forever trying to hook him up with some 'hot guy'. Louis rolled his eyes at the thought.

To be fair, some of the guys were hot. But Louis wasn't exactly looking for a relationship. Plus he highly doubts he'd find a guy who'd accept his career and while all the guys at the house were undeniably attractive Louis didn't feel anything other then brotherly love towards them.

And not to forget, when Louis does settle down he wants it to be for love and not just sexual attraction.

Shaking away the thoughts, Louis knocked on the door. Making a odd pattern that made it easy for his mum and sisters to know it was him.

Louis frowned. Usually by now he'd hear screams from Fizzy or the twins. Lottie tended to just grin stupidly. But he didn't hear screams. And it wasn't Lotties grinning face that he was greeted with at the door. It was his mum, smiling.

He stepped inside the warm home, bringing his mum into a hug. "Hey mum, where's the girls?"

"Oh, well Fizzy's at a friends party and she's staying the night. The twins are staying at your nans and Lottie is staying at her boyfriends" Jay explained.

"Boyfriend? She's a bit young to have one, never mind stay at his house..." Louis wrinkled his nose, not liking the idea of Lottie being near a boy until she was at least fifty. okay, maybe he would accept thirty.

Jay chuckled "She's fifteen, Boo. It's going to happen"

Crossing his arms, Louis frowned even more "Too young"

"Hey, now, I remember you going to stay at a girls at fourteen" Jay smiled knowingly.

"Yeah, and she helped me realise I was gay!"

Jay just laughed, walking through to the dining room where a meal was set up. Louis followed, knowing the conversation had been dropped. But he made a mental note to talk to Lottie.

The two sat down on opposite sides of the table so they were facing each other.

"Looks great" Louis commented. It's wasn't a lie but it wasn't exactly true. His mum wasn't the best cook.

That's what he wants in a guy too. A man that can cook. When he wants a guy anyways.

"Oh hush" Jay shook her head, dishing up the lasagna and side dishes. She knew she wasn't the best cook and she knew Louis would always compliment her food even if she served up a dead dog.

As they ate they made the usual conversation, updating one another on their lives.

"There's this little girl at the hospital. Names Sophie and she says that she'd like to meet you" Before Louis could groan his mum continued. "I've told her lots about you and I think you should meet her. She doesn't get on well with the other children, she said she likes people her sisters age" She used her fork to point at Louis. "17"

"Fine, I'll meet her" Louis nodded. He didn't like how much his mum spoke of him because he can be rather shy but it was nice to know that she thought highly enough of him to tell her patients.

She's a nurse and if you've watched those cliche films where the nurses talk and talk and talk, that's his mum.

"Thanks, Boo"

This time Louis did groan. "Seriously, stop with the nickname"

"It's cute. I remember when you used to call yourself Princess Boobear"

"Ha ha ha ha, you're soooo funny" Louis rolled his eyes, stabbing a baby potato and eating it.

"Told you, I should be a comedian" Jay joked.

Louis couldn't help it, he burst out laughing.

After eating both him and his mum curled up to watch a romantic comedy.

They sat, making comments about the film and making it twice as funny with their own interpretations. Often they'd be in tears at something that Louis said and had to rewind to catch what they missed in the movie.

Louis was enjoying himself so much that he decided to stay.

They watched movie after movie and ending falling asleep against one another.

~*~*~*~

In the morning Louis was quick to get on his phone to his boss. He organised to use one of his many earned days off so he could spend more time with his mother.

He then made his way to the dining room where he once again complimented his mother on the food and once again got told to shut up.

"Such a loving mother" Louis rolled his eyes

"Thanks, you're such a terrible son" Jay smirked, putting out the last of the toast.

Louis put his hand over his heart, making an ouch sound before 'falling' to the table. Jay simply chuckled before pushing his head out of the way so she could put his plate down.

She muttered something along the lines of 'silly boy'.

Louis sat up, smiled and then dug into the average tasting fry up.

His mum told him that all the girls are going to back at three in the afternoon, so it was just them today. Both of them grin at each, knowing exactly what the other was going to say.

"SHOPPING!"

Without another word they separate to go to their rooms and get dressed. Louis' room was really Lotties room now but Louis had an outfit or two for when he stays.

He quickly changed into a maroon hoodie and dark green skinny jeans. He styled his hair to the side and made sure he looked pretty. Never know, he could bump into the love of his life.

He sighed "Lou, there's a reason hopeless romantics are called hopeless"

Once he was done talking to his own reflection he hopped down the stairs. Literally hopped down them, placing both feet together and jumping.

He faintly heard his mum say he was going to break his neck but he ignored her and continued hopping, only to trip on the last step and faceplant onto the carpet.

"Ow" Louis mumbled into the carpet. Jay walked up to him, holding in a laugh.

"Told you"

Louis pushed himself up so he was sitting on his butt. "Actually, you said I'd break my neck. My neck is fine"

To prove it he rolled his head around a few times before jumping up. He stuck his tongue out at Jay and she responded with the same action.

"And you wonder why I'm childish!" Louis tilted his nose up and marched to the door. He attempted to open it so he could continue marching but the door was locked. Jay burst out laughing.

"Oh.. My.. Ha.. You.." Jay continued breathing out words between her laughter until she held out her keys to her son.

"You're horrible to me" Louis snatched the keys and unlocked the door.

He considered continuing his marching but decided against it.

They made their way to Louis' car, Jay holding her stomach and trying not to laugh anymore but every time she looked at Louis' face she giggled a little.

Once they were in the car Jay started to laugh again so Louis turned the radio on, putting the volume high to drown her out.

They both bobbed her heads to the songs whether they knew them or not.

By the time they got to the shopping centre they were belting out the lyrics in silly off key voices.

"We should go on X factor, a mother son act. I'm sure Simon would love us!" Jay shouts over the music so Louis can hear.

He just shook his head and laughed at her before pulling into a free parking space.

Once out the car Jay retrieved a reuseable bag and took Louis' arm in her own. It been a while since Louis had been out with his mother, she rarely got a day off and he always had photoshoot to go to. Not that she knew that, she thought he worked part-time in a bookshop. If he hadn't landed in the Modelling business then he'd love to be a book keeper.

He often wishes he had the time to go to college, he'd love that. He'd probably study law, or maybe English. Who knows? He guesses if he really wanted to, he could quit his job and go to university but he did love his job. Like really love it.

"Ohh! Looks Lou!" Jay brought Louis' attention back to the present.

They went into the shop Jay had pointed to, which was some sort of charity shop but Louis didn't catch which charity.

Jay went to look at clothes while Louis wondered towards the books. He read a few blurbs, liking all of them but knowing he only had enough free time to squeeze in one or two books.

In the end he choose a story about a girl who's on a journey to find the reason her father was killed and another one about a typical school girl who's school is not so typical because dead teenagers are coming back to life.

He doesn't remember the names of the stories as he pays and takes his bag from the lady. He says thanks before walking to where his mum was trying to choose between a ugly yellow top and a lovely red dress.

"Really mum?" Louis took the yellow one off her and hung it back up.

"Thanks Boo, that was a hard choice. They're both nice" He made her way towards the counter.

"No mum, the yellow one was ugly"

The cashier gave him a dirty look but smiled a moment later and typed in the price for his mums dress. Jay lightly shoved her son, having caught the look from the cashier.

"It's the truth" He mutters, quiet enough only his mum heard.

Jay started to laugh but covered it up with a cough.

"Smooth mum, real smooth"

Jay shoved him again and this time he lost his balance and fell. He sat there, gaping at his mum like he couldn't believe she would do such a thing.

The cashier giggled and this time Louis shot her a dirty look. She was mean. Cashiers are usually social and pleasant.

Jay helped Louis up, biting her lip to stop herself from laughing. Louis rolled his eyes, again, it was if she was a giggly school girl but in actual fact she was just easily amused. Don't let that fool you though, if she's mad then it's like she goes from school girl to scary headmaster.

Louis almost shivered at the thought of his mother angry. Maybe it wasn't that she got extremely mad, just that she didn't get angry often. She got annoyed sometimes, yes, but rarely was she furious.

Once the dress was all paid for they made their way out the shop and across the plaza. Louis dragged his mother into a gigantic shoe shop and into the area where there were hundreds of TOMS and VANS.

At heart Louis was a big girl, he loved shoes. Even though he rarely wore them, in the house they just walk around in boxers because its comfortable and easy for photoshots. But yet he still had twenty pairs of shoes.

He planned to make that twenty-one. Or maybe twenty-two.

Jay huffed. "You have more shoes then me"

"Let me buy you a pair" Louis said, quickly grabbing a pair of red TOMS he'd seen the week before.

Jay tried to say something but Louis put his hand over her mouth and steered her towards the heels. Jay shut up, her eyes seeking out a pair of deep ruby red heels that would go perfectly with the dress.

She picks them up, just staring at them with wide eyes.

"Those ones?" Louis asks, chuckling.

Jay just nodded, handing them over. She smiled at him and kissed his cheek before she practically skipped to the check out. Louis followed laughing and shaking his head.

~*~*~*~

"LOOOOOOOOUIS!" Daisy screams the moment she walks into the living room.

Before Louis realises what's happening three of his sisters have jumped on him, all trying to get the first hug.

He should have kept an eye on the clock.

In the end his arms wrap around Phoebe first. Then Daisy. And lastly Fizzy. Once he calms them all down, listens to their short description of their days and gives them all another hug he manages to shoo them off to bug their mum for something to eat.

He gets up and hugs Lottie.

"Now, Charlotte"

"Oh, crap, I'm in trouble" She jokes, smiling nervously because she knew that it wasn't completely a joke.

"Mum tells me you have a boyfriend-"

"Lou-"

"I don't like it. You're too young" Louis continues talking, disregarding the fact Lottie spoke.

"I'll be fifty before you let me date" She rolled her eyes, crossing her arms.

Louis raised an eyebrow. Did she really want to start getting sassy? She knows she'll lose.

"Maybe when you're thirty. Maybe"

She frowned, pouting a little hoping to guilt trip him. Louis shook his head and she stopped.

"Worth a shot"

"Hasn't worked since you turned 12"

"I know" She huffed a little.

"So, tell me all about him!" Louis grabbed her hands and nearly squealed as he let a little of his inner woman out.

He and Lottie made their way up to her room, so Fizzy and the twins couldn't eavesdrop.

Once they were sat on Lottie's bed she started to tell him a story of how she liked this boy, Daniel, foooooorever (which was in fact only two months). One day they got sat next to each other in maths and he missed a lesson so when he came back he asked Lottie to explain what he'd missed and after that they just seemed to talk and talk and talk. Eventually the started talking out of school and he asked her out on a small date one day after school. She'd said yes, they went out for a little picnic and he asked her to be his girlfriend the week after.

Naturally, Louis made comments throughout the story. Daniel had been too slow to ask her out. He should have done more for the date, really tried to impress her. He should have ask him first. He could have figured out the maths, or ask the teacher. All things Lottie expected.

"You can do better" Louis commented, for the fifth time.

"Did I mention he is adorable and hot at the same time?" She asked, a small smile of her lips.

Louis nodded, holding up four fingers. "Three times"

"Lou, that's four fingers"

He put one down "Shut it"

Lottie laughed before her expression become so serious it made Louis shuffle backwards on the bed.

"So... How's your love life?"

Louis opted to not tell her about his experience in a club bathroom.

"Fine. I'm dating" He lied.

"Lair!" Lottie shouts, pointing at him.

He batted her hand away from his face. "Am not"

"Are too"

"Am not!"

"Are too!"

"Am NOT!"

"Are TOO!"

"I hate you" Louis huffs and crosses his arms.

"Love you too" Lottie pokes her togune out at him.

To avoid going back to the subject of his love life Louis picked up Lottie's wii controller. "Bet I beat you"

"You're on!"

~*~*~*~

Louis was enjoying himself so much he called to ask for another day off. His boss was fine with it, they didn't officially start shoots until Tuesday so he was allowed Monday off.

He helped his mum get the twins ready for school and even offered to drive Fizzy and Lottie, who normally walk. They were more then happy to spend the extra fifteen minutes at home and five minutes in the car to talk to Louis.

After dropping them at school, and embarrassing them by shouting 'I Love You's, he picked up some bread and milk like his mum asked and made his way back to his childhood home.

He really was enjoying the time off. He didn't realised just how much he missed his family.

When he got back he put the bread and milk on the side and went up stairs for a shower. Jay had to work today, so she was upstairs getting ready. She'd be working till six in the evening. To help out Louis was just going to pick up the twins and look after them, giving the normal babysitter a rest and his mum a little more pocket money.

He was quick to shower and get changed. When he opened the door to Lotties room he paused. It was really quiet. He knew his mum wasn't leaving until half nine and it was only nine.

He only managed to take a step out the door when his mum started screaming.

"LOUIS TOMLINSON!!"

Louis rushed down the stairs, mistaking the screaming for pain. When he reached the bottom his mum stood, face incredibly red and expression showing she was perturbed.

Then Louis spotted the latest house magazine in her hand.

"Shit"
