EPILOGUE

//5 YEARS LATER//
Taehyung blinked his eyes open, the sunlight from the large window in the room streaming down on his face. He rubbed his eyes and yawned loudly, stretching his arms over his head.
Taehyung turned around on his side, expecting to see Jungkook sleeping beside him, but instead fell off the couch with a loud thud. Oh right, the couch. There was no Jungkook.
He grunted and pulled himself up from the floor, and walked to the bedroom, scratching his head, his red sweats and grey shirt clinging to his body. He opened the door carefully, peeking in to see what Jungkook was doing.
The room was empty.
Taehyung walked in, a bit confused, and then heard the sound of the shower running. He walked to the bathroom and pulled open the door, seeing Jungkook standing under the shower, scrubbing his chest with a loofah.
"Good morning." Taehyung said, walking up to the sink, his voice seeming hoarse after just waking up. Jungkook didn't respond.
"I said good morning." Taehyung repeated, turning on the tap and splashing some water on his face. Jungkook rolled his eyes from the side, "What's so good about this morning?"
"Oh come on. Don't tell me you are still upset about what happened last night, are you?" Taehyung scoffed, trying to squeeze out some toothpaste from an empty tube. Jungkook whipped around to face him, angry, "Of course I'm still upset about what happened. How can I not be? I am mad."
"You are just being dramatic. It was not that big of a deal." Taehyung said, rolling his eyes and started brushing his teeth, having finally gotten some toothpaste out.
"Not that big of a deal? You fucking cheated on me. With Jia! Taehyung that is not a big deal for you? You didn't think twice about my feelings, did you? I should never have trusted you. I can't believe I trusted you. I can't believe I'm living with a cheater!" Jungkook snapped, glaring at Taehyung as he brushed his teeth.
"Fine-" Taehyung said, spitting the toothpaste out and gargling his mouth clean. He turned the tap off and turned to Jungkook, "Move out then."
"I will. I am breaking up with you, I'm packing my clothes and I'm taking a flight back to Daegu. Right now! I don't want to live with you. I should have never gotten together with you. I hate you. I DESPISE you, Kim Taehyung. I can't believe you would do this to me. After all we've been through, Tae? I'm done with you. I'm calling my mom and-"
"Jungkook-"
"No- no you shut up this instant! You are not getting away with what you did. I am calling my Mom and Dad, and I'm telling them what a cheating scumbag you are-"
"Stop making it seem like I hooked up with Jia or something. It was a fucking Ludo game for fucks sake!" Taehyung snapped, stomping his foot on the ground in annoyance.
Jungkook glared at him, "So? That doesn't make you any less of a cheater." He said and then turned away, rubbing the large pink loofah over his arms aggressively. Taehyung sighed, a small smile on his face as he took his shirt off.
Taehyung stripped his clothes off and threw them in the laundry basket before walking into the shower with Jungkook. He wrapped his arms around Jungkook from behind, the water running down on both of their bodies, and brought his lips to Jungkook's ear, "I'm sorry."
Jungkook didn't reply but tilted his head back to Taehyung's shoulder, eyes closed, letting the water roll down his face. Taehyung pressed his lips to the shell of his ear, "Your ass looks extra great today, by the way." He whispered, bringing his hands down to Jungkook's ass.
"Stop trying to flirt with me. I'm still mad at you." Jungkook said, elbowing Taehyung away and Taehyung scoffed loudly, "If you stay mad at me...I- I won't let you wash my hair. Ever." Taehyung said.
Jungkook rose his brows, "I don't even like washing your hair that much. I'll be glad to not do it everyday."
"Okay then. I won't make you do it. It's not like I ever did." Taehyung said bitterly, standing under the water to get his hair wet completely. Jungkook gasped, "Oh please, you beg me to wash you hair everyday for you."
"I do not." Taehyung said, snatching the bottle of shampoo from the shelf and popping the cap open. Jungkook watched him for a second and then gave out an annoyed huff, "Come here." He mumbled, pulling the boy towards him and taking the bottle from his hand.
Taehyung grinned as Jungkook poured some shampoo on his palm and lathered it up in his hair, "You are literally so annoying. I can't stand you, do you know that?" Jungkook said, massaging Taehyung's head and Taehyung hummed, kissing Jungkook's mouth, "I know."
Jungkook washed his hair and then scrubbed him clean, taking extra time to massage his shoulders because he knew Taehyung's shoulders always got stiff from sleeping on the couch.
They got out of shower. Jungkook walked out with a towel wrapped around his waist and Taehyung walked out butt naked. He snatched the towel from Jungkook's waist and wrapped it around his own, "You know, I always thought your little dick looked cute when it is not hard."
"You think I have a cute dick?" Jungkook laughed.
"No I think you have a cute and a little dick." Taehyung said and Jungkook hummed in amusement, "Oh pleaseeee, this cute little dick of mine had your ass worshipping it a week ago."
"Oh pleaseeee, you were not even that good. I just pretended like you were less bad so you wouldn't feel upset." Taehyung said and Jungkook nodded, smiling, "I'm pretty sure you said something about wanting to always bottom after that night. And I'm pretty sure there was something along the lines of 'please Jungkookiee- put your dick in my ass. Ah fuck! Feels so good Kookie. Baby fuck me harder pleaseee'."
"I was drunk!" Taehyung cried out, cheeks turning bright pink. He quickly turned away and pressed his shirt against his flushed face. Jungkook giggled and hugged him from the back, "You drank a glass of water babe. I don't think that counts."
"You say that like you are some innocent saint. Remember the time you wanted me to fuck you while wearing that god awful crown I had from that one shoot? You even said you would lick my abs if I did." Taehyung teased and this time Jungkook flushed bright red.
"Shut up!" Jungkook whined, smacking Taehyung's chest, "It was just because- because your abs look good after you work out."
"I knew all this time, you only loved my abs." Taehyung sighed, turning away from Jungkook and going to their dressing table, picking up some moisturizer and applying it to his face. Jungkook pouted a little, "Nooo! I love all of my hot, sexy, beautiful, hard working, very well known actor boyfriend." Jungkook said, skipping over to Taehyung and watching him putting on some cream on his face.
"Why thank you milady." Taehyung said, bopping some cream on Jungkook's nose. Jungkook scrunched his nose up cutely and handed Taehyung his favorite cologne to put on. Taehyung blew him a kiss, "Oh and- talking about your famous actor boyfriend, I have to go for the auditioning today and then I have to go to the gym so maybe I'll be home late."
"Auditions for the big drama you have been talking about non stop? They are today? Oh my god I hope you get that role, you wanted it so bad Taehyungie." Jungkook clapped excitedly, jumping up and down, "But wait- you won't be that late right? We have a flight back to Daegu early tomorrow morning."
"No baby, I won't be that late. Don't worry." Taehyung said, kissing Jungkook's forehead.
They had gotten less touchy over the time (Thankfully. Because some people- called Jimin- would whine about how disgustingly cute and adorable they were every single second). Instead of being all over each other all the time like some horny little cubs, they were... a lot more mature, you could say.
There were a lot more romantic talks, blushing, holding hands and kissing foreheads and a lot less spanking and squeezing asses and frottage. Though Taehyung still did that all the time when they were alone because he was still the same boy from five years back who fell in love for the first time.
It was perfect. Taehyung couldn't imagine being this way with anyone else. Neither could Jungkook. They were still so in love, sometimes it even felt like time had stopped and they were back to being the dumb eighteen year olds who had very big crushes on each other.
Taehyung would sometimes whisper, very shyly, into Jungkook's ear that he has a crush on him and Jungkook would make his eyes wide and blush a lot and say he has a crush on him too. And they would get married.
It was kinda adorable really, pretending to be high school seniors again. They kinda wished to be back in high school again because... it was so fun back then. They had no worries on their minds, they would spend all day laying in bed and giggling together, kissing warmly. They used to spend each and every single second together and wished they could do that again.
But that... wasn't really possible anymore.
They grew up, they got busy. Jungkook got a job in the law firm and he always had a lot of office work piled up for him to finish. But it was okay because he got a decent pay out of it. Taehyung however was- well- he was an actor. He was always busy. He had auditions, interviews and acting sessions almost every day. Taehyung loved it but it got tiring. He would come home all tired and sleepy and in a bad mood. But it got better when he would see Jungkook.
Jungkook would persuade him to take a nice warm bath, he would make him some coffee and then tuck him into bed. Taehyung usually fell asleep in Jungkook's arms. But the days Jungkook would fall asleep in his arms were different.
He would run Taehyung a bath, Taehyung would ask him to join and then by the night time, they would both be wrapped up in the sheets, Jungkook whimpering under Taehyung and Taehyung kissing him, telling him that he was beautiful.
But other times Taehyung would get home in a very bad mood and would get really annoyed. He would snap at Jungkook too and they got into disagreements. Of course there were fights.
There were small fights, where one would end up sleeping on the couch for the night. And there were big fights, where one of them would storm out of the house in anger. But they would always came back to each other in the end.
The worst fight they had was easily when both had to go to university.
Jungkook wanted to travel to Seoul and study in the Seoul university as a law major. Taehyung wanted to stay back in Daegu because- well, he said it was expensive and he couldn't afford all that.
Jungkook told him it was not a problem and that his parents were more than happy to help him. Taehyung however, wasn't very happy about it. He kept mumbling something about being nothing but a burden to people and wouldn't talk to Jungkook properly.
Jungkook got angry.
He shouted at Taehyung that he was just trying to help and that Taehyung was just being irrational. Taehyung shouted at him that he didn't need this kind of help and Jungkook was just making him feel humiliated.
Jungkook didn't take that the right way. Taehyung didn't either. They shouted at each other for hours before Jungkook said 'do whatever the fuck you want. I don't care, I'm going to Seoul' and stormed out of the house.
Taehyung stormed away too and then came back hours later to an empty apartment, with Jungkook's belongings all gone. He panicked and called Jungkook. Jungkook told him he was already at the airport and Taehyung could still change his mind. Taehyung said he wasn't coming and cut the phone call.
And so they stayed away from each other, in different cities, in different beds, crying while clutching onto their pillows. Jungkook even considered to fuck his studies and go back to Daegu at one point. They stayed like that for a whole torturous week. Then Taehyung applied for Daegu National University but didn't get a scholarship.
He applied of Seoul University and got into it as a acting major with quite a decent scholarship. He took his savings the very day, booked a flight and flew to Seoul. Jungkook was overjoyed. He leapt into Taehyung's arms when he saw him, crying, and called him an idiot. Taehyung cried too, and held him tightly, saying sorry. Jungkook said sorry too and they went home and 'made up'.
University was fun together. They even got a small apartment and lived together. And then they graduated. Taehyung became an actor, he became famous. They bought a big house in the heart of Seoul and moved in. It was like some beautiful fairytale and they were more than happy.
"I am gonna do some research for some documents while you are gone. And then I will pack our clothes, okay? You take care of yourself." Jungkook told Taehyung as he waved him out of the house. Taehyung nodded and kissed him goodbye before driving off in his car.
He didn't go to the auditions though, he didn't need to because they were already done a week back.
Fine. Maybe he did lie to Jungkook about where he had to go. And what about it?
Taehyung drove to a small cafe in the middle of the town and walked in, looking around for someone.
"Taehyung!" A voice called, waving Taehyung over.
Taehyung looked up and smiled, walking up to the girl and hugging her, "Hello."
"Is Jungkook okay? He got really mad at us for cheating on the game last night." Jia said, looking worried. Taehyung nodded at him and then went to hug Jimin, who was bringing coffee for the three of them. They sat down at a table in the corner.
Jimin and Jia were together. They got together the very day Taehyung asked Jungkook out. And they were kinda cute, to be honest. Lived together in Daegu but they were still best friends with Jungkook and Taehyung and would come to meet them in Seoul almost whenever they had a chance.
"So?" Jimin asked, leaning back on his chair, "Why did you hold this urgent meeting without Jungkook?"
"Well." Taehyung began, taking a sip of his coffee, "You know- you don't know probably but tomorrow is the day Kook and I got together." He said fondly, thinking back about the day.
"Ooh, I see." Jia wiggled her brows, looking very interested.
"Yeah. So we ar flying back to Daegu tomorrow. I'm taking him home for a week to see his family and just... you know relax." Taehyung explained in a hushed voice. The other two nodded, "Yeah and... I am gonna propose tomorrow night."
"WHAT?" Jimin and Jia gasped together, earning some looks from the people nearby. Taehyung grinned at them and Jia leapt over the table, hugging him tightly, "Really? Oh my god! I'm so happy for you two!!!" She exclaimed, not letting Taehyung go.
Taehyung somehow managed to get out of her hold but was engulfed in a hug by Jimin, "Finally. I'm the best man, no arguments." Jimin said, patting Taehyung's back and pulled away.
"Okay jeez." Taehyung gasped, pulling away and breathing heavily, "I know this is super late and I should have done this before, but I was really busy." He said and then gave the two a pleading look, "Please come with me to shop for a ring."
"Let's go!" Jia cheered loudly, grabbing Jimin's and Taehyung's hands and dragging them out of the store to Taehyung's car.

"MOM!" Jungkook yelled as kicked the door instead of knocking on it, carrying a large box of cake in his hands.
"MAMA. Mom. Mum. Mumma. Mummy. Mummie." Taehyung yelled after him, carrying their big bag of clothes in his hands and kicking the door with Jungkook. Naeun opened the door quickly, wiping her hands on her apron, "Gosh boys, stop kicking the door. We just got it painted last week."
"That is how you welcome your son and son-in-law home? Extremely disappointing." Jungkook frowned, walking into the house and setting the cake down on the kitchen counter, "We brought cake by the way, since you forgot how to bake."
Naeun gasped and smacked Jungkook on the head, "I am very offended young man." She said and then hugged him tightly, kissing his forehead. Jungkook laughed and kissed her cheek, "Where is Dad? Is he still at work?"
"Yes. He will be back by the evening. Where did Taehyung go?" Naeun asked, walking back to the front door. Taehyung had somehow managed to get the large bag stuck in the door frame and was trying to push it inside.
"Why did you bring such a big bag for? There are a lot of clothes in Jungkook's room upstairs." Naeun said, helping Taehyung get inside. Taehyung, having finally gotten the bag inside, turned to her and hugged her tightly, "These are not our clothes. These are for our baby. Jungkookie is pregnant." He said and kissed Naeun on the cheek.
"Ha. Ha. Very funny." Naeun said, ruffling up his hair and making the boy chuckle, "No but, we were thinking about adopting five babies the other day. Jungkook is up for it, aren't you Kook?" Taehyung called loudly.
Jungkook looked up from licking the icing of the cake, "What? I told you we are not getting five babies. And we are not getting any kids until we are thirty." He said with a frown and Taehyung frowned back, "Thirty? How would we be able to take care of kids at such an old age?"
"Mom had me when she was fifty."
"Jungkook I turned thirty last year." Naeun snapped.
"Come on, you are getting white hair, you are easily seventy years old." Jungkook giggled and Naeun tugged at his ear, "Fine, let's compromise till forty." She said, making both boys laugh.
They chatted for a while, eating some cake- Jungkook ate the cake and Taehyung told Naeun excitedly about how life was in Seoul. Naeun listened carefully as Taehyung told her about how Jungkook wanted Taehyung to fuck him with the crown on and Jungkook smacked his head and said that he shouldn't say such things to his mom.
"I'm going out for a while okay? I'll be back by dinner." Taehyung told Naeun and Jungkook, who both nodded, knowing where Taehyung needed to go.
Taehyung walked out of the house, brought some flowers and drove to the graveyard, wanting to visit his brother like he did every time he came to the city. He walked in through the big rusty gates and then paused, seeing someone standing over Yejun's grave.
Taehyung carefully stepped forward, the flowers clutched tightly in his hand and watched the man. He had grey hair, wrinkled up face and dull eyes with dark circles under them. Taehyung walked up to him and stood by his side.
"You know very well that he wouldn't want you here." Taehyung said in a soft voice, looking down at the name engraved on the stone slab. The man got startled and slowly turned to Taehyung, eyes widening, "T-Taehyung?"
"Getting old so soon Dad?" Taehyung asked in a flat voice, bending down to place the flowers on the dirt gently. Jaesun looked at him with an expression Taehyung didn't quite catch, "How- How are you? Where have you been?"
"Me?" Taehyung asked, crouched down next to the grave, hand placed against the tombstone, "I live in Seoul with my boyfriend, Jungkook, you must remember him." Taehyung said calmly. Jaesun looked at him, not saying anything for a while, "Y-you have grown up."
Taehyung had. He had grown into his features, and grown into an absolutely gorgeous young man. His jaw was stricken, sharp with his eyes brows darker. He had black hair framed around his face giving it a mature look. He was taller, his shoulders were broader and his muscles were more prominent.
But he hadn't just grown up physically.
He was a man, the happiest and luckiest man in the world that he liked to call himself. He knew how to live life, he knew how to face his problems. He learned that, with Jungkook. And he was glad he did, it made him more stronger than he ever thought he could be.
"I have." Taehyung said and then looked at Jaesun, "Why are you here?"
"I just- wanted to see him." Jaesun said weakly and Taehyung snickered, "You wanted to apologize, I assume? Because after all these years, now when you are getting old and the office and work is getting to your head and you have no one to support you, you do realize that Yejun Hyung was important, don't you? He was more important than your money."
"You were important too. You both were." Jaesun said, looking down. Taehyung let out a small chuckle and turned away, "You didn't seem to think that when you beat us up and threw us out." He said in a soft voice.
It was silent for a while, just the wind rustling through the tress far away.
"I'm sorry." Jaesun said, voice barely coherent, "I shouldn't have done that. I was... blinded. I hurt my own sons. I should not have done that. I'm- sorry." Jaesun apologized, voice cracking.
"I would have forgiven you, I would forgive you for hurting me, for hitting me. I would even forgive you leaving me alone when I had nothing, I had nowhere to go because of you. But... I will never- never forgive you for hurting my brother." Taehyung said in a strained voice.
"You k-killed him Dad." Taehyung croaked out, not looking at Jaesun but at his brother's name, "You are a fucking murderer, an abusive father and a heartless man. I don't want to see you." Taehyung said and Jaesun looked away, "I'm sorry."
"Go away." Taehyung whispered, "Please. Don't come here. He wouldn't want you here."
"Will you- will you come back to Daegu? I- need you. Your mother needs you, she misses you. We miss you both a lot." Jaesun said and Taehyung let of a small chuckle, wiping a lone tear from his eyes, "No, I'm not coming back. I said I wasn't coming back the day I left your house."
"Tae- we- we are sorry for hurting you two. It's getting harder without you." Jaesun pleaded, his dull eyes looking teary. Taehyung stood up and turned to look at his father in the eyes.
"Please- just please let me be happy now. I was never happy around you but these last five years- these were the best years of my life Dad. I got a decent job, I have a place to live, a family. Jungkook's parents... they are better parents to me than you and mom ever were. And Jungkook... I love him. I'm in love with him and I will be forever. I'm gonna propose tonight. I will ask him to be my husband and I'll marry him. You can - you can call me mental, sick, whatever- I don't care. Please don't ruin anything now. Let me be happy. I am happy away from you." Taehyung said, wiping some more tears that managed to leak through.
"Don't cry. I-" Jaesun said, his voice getting caught in his throat, "I'm glad you're happy." He said and turned around, walking away with his head hung low.
Taehyung stayed back at the graveyard for a while, sitting beside Yejun until it got a bit darker. He felt his head aching from the little crying he did and decided to go for a walk across the city. He strolled the roads, and then wandered away from the town, going to a place he absolutely loved.
He climbed up the well known path and reached the clearing, smiling to himself at how absolutely nothing had changed over five years. He sat down on the grass and took his phone out.
Kim Taehyung
Imy baby, come to our secret hideout
Mr. Kim🐰
Omg the cliff!!!!
I will be there in a sec
Taehyung waited for a while, just enjoying the cool breeze and the smell of the flowers. Then he heard footsteps and turned around to see Jungkook rushing up to him, smiling wide. Jungkook sat down next to him and then furrowed his brows, "Were you crying?"
Taehyung hummed questioningly, "How did you know?"
"I can tell. And your nose is quite red." Jungkook said, cupping Taehyung's face, "What happened?"
"I met my Dad." Taehyung whispered, looking into Jungkook's eyes, seeing them getting filled up with worry, "He was at the cemetery, visiting Yejun Hyung. He told me that he was sorry and mum and dad miss me. They said they should have never hurt me and Hyung." Taehyung said and Jungkook hugged him tightly, "What did you say?"
"I said I would- I would never forgive him for hurting my brother." Taehyung said in a low voice, breathing into Jungkook's neck, "That I'm happy away from them. I'm happy with you." He admitted and Jungkook kissed his forehead, noticing how Taehyung's voice was a little watery, "It's okay baby. Don't cry, it would make your head hurt."
Taehyung chuckled and looked at Jungkook, "I love you so much Kookie, you don't even know." Taehyung whispered, taking Jungkook's hands and kissing his palms. Jungkook gave him a playful glare, "I don't know? Me? You are the one that doesn't know how much I love you."
"I know you love me lots. And I love you lots too." Taehyung said and then turned to look around the cliff, "Isn't it pretty here?"
"Nothing changed at all." Jungkook agreed, looking around too, "It feels like we travelled back in time and everything is the same."
"Everything IS the same." Taehyung said and pointed to a rose bush in a corner, "Look, those roses are still there. You used to love their smell. And the trees, they are all still so green. Oh and there are so many more dandelions on the grass, look." Taehyung said excitedly, pointing everywhere.
"Oh. Oh my god. Remember that white dove I hated. I think she laid eggs. There are little baby birdies in the nest." Jungkook cried out, pointing at the trees. He stood up rom the grass and rushed to the tree, jumping up and down to take a look at the little white birds sleeping in the nest. Taehyung chuckled at him and stood up too to looked at them, "It could be any other bird's babies."
"I wish it's the white dove's. They are all white and fluffy. What if she is still here? Oh my god what if she died? And her kids are all alone? Who will take care of them? I hate her but I wish she is okay." Jungkook asked in worry.
"Baby, she was here five years ago. She must have died." Taehyung said and Jungkook started crying into his chest, "Noo. I wished she wouldn't be here and now she is not here. I'm so sad." He wept and Taehyung wrapped his arms around him, shushing him down.
"Aw don't cry baby. We can take a picture with her kids hang it in our house. Jungkook and the kids of his biggest rival." Taehyung suggested and Jungkook looked up excitedly.
"Yes we should. Take a photo." Jungkook said and went to pose by the tree, pointing at the nest. Taehyung quickly took his phone out and took the picture. "Stand by the edge. I need a picture of you with the city in the back." He said and Jungkook did. They took a lot of pictures.
"Oh and...take a picture from down here, of the whole scenery." Taehyung said, handing the phone to Jungkook and quickly turning him around. Jungkook took some photos of the view from the edge of the cliff and looked at them, back facing Taehyung, "Aw they came out nice. It looks so peaceful. Tae come look at these."
Taehyung didn't respond.
"Taehyung?" Jungkook called, turning around to look and froze, eyes widening.
Taehyung was down on one knee, holding up a small black colored velvet box in his hand, looking up at Jungkook, "Hello beautiful."
""W-what are you doing?" Jungkook asked, looking at Taehyung with big eyes. Taehyung looked up at him with a smile and saw how Jungkook was looking like a literal angel under the moonlight, "You look so beautiful."
"Thank you." Jungkook blushed.
Damn. Taehyung loved how Jungkook still blushed at every single compliment Taehyung gave him. He got all shy and would hide his face and- Gosh, Taehyung wanted to make him his as soon as possible. Taehyung cleared his throat, "Jeon Jungkook I-" He began and then felt his mind go blank.
Shit. Shit shit shit. He had written everything down what the fuck. What should he say? He couldn't remember anything. Taehyung started panicking and looked up at Jungkook with scared eyes, "Jungkook I- I wrote everything that I would be saying to you down. And I don't remember a single thing now. Fuck." Taehyung mumbled to himself, looking nervous and scratching his head.
"Just say what's on your mind." Jungkook said softly, looking at the boy before him, down on one knee, moonlight shining on his handsome features.
"What's on my mind? Um- o-okay. I- I want you to know that- that..." Taehyung gulped. He was sweating, his palms were all sweaty too and he felt like he was going to piss his pants, "I lied to you about having to go for auditions yesterday. They were already held a week ago and I got the role. I went- I went shopping with Jia and Jimin for- for this box."
"WHAT?" Jungkook shouted.
"Don't be mad please. I don't like lying to you b-but I didn't think I could tell you this-"
"No no no. Not that. YOU GOT THE ROLE?" Jungkook asked, eyes wide, "Tae, do you realize how big this is? You were so anxious for this and you worked so hard baby. Oh my god. Taehyung! I'm so happy for you. Everyone's so excited for this drama. You are going to be so famous!" Jungkook gasped, hands pressing over his mouth and crouching down next to Taehyung on both of his knees.
"B-but what about the fact that I lied to you? I shouldn't have done that. I felt upset for the whole day-" Taehyung asked and Jungkook circled his arms around his neck, pulling him into his chest, "That is the thing on your mind? Don't worry about it, it's fine. Everyone does that when they are about to propose."
"Propose?" Taehyung mumbled, his face hidden in Jungkook's chest, "You don't know what's in this box. It could be... a big fat chocolate covered cockroach that I want to scare you with." Taehyung giggled and Jungkook pulled away from him, squinting his eyes, "I swear to god if there is a cockroach in that box-"
"Jungkook!" Taehyung said quickly, "I'm- I'm scared okay? I haven't done this before."
"You literally have." Jungkook giggled, taking Taehyung's hand in his own. Taehyung paused and then frowned, "Well shit."
Jungkook laughed, "How did you propose to Jia anyways? Like- you just met her the very day. What did you say to her?"
"I said she was amazing thrice and asked her to marry me. Nothing else." Taehyung giggled and Jungkook giggled too, pressing his forehead to Taehyung's fondly, "You can say that to me too and I would say yes-"
"No!" Taehyung said, pulling away from Jungkook. He placed the velvet box to the side and took both of Jungkook's hands, looking into his eyes, "You are not amazing- No, I mean you are but- but not. Like- like you are amazinger. Okay that's not a word but you are the amazingest. That's not a word either but we can pretend it is because I love Zinger burgers. So good. Damn. But not with tomatoes. Tomatoes should not be on burgers. They are meant for salads... but so is lettuce. But I love lettuce on my burgers-"
Jungkook was crying.
"Tae- I-I love you so much baby." Jungkook sniffled, tears in his eyes as he blinked at Taehyung. Taehyung smiled and wiped his tears away, "Don't start crying already. I have a lot to say to you. Sorry I'm just a bit nervous.... You know I didn't sleep at all last night because I was so paranoid. I slept in the plane but woke up because I had a dream about me being a king cobra and you being my queen. But you were a worm. Is that even normal? Am I okay???"
Jungkook cupped Taehyung's face and kissed him really hard. Taehyung fluttered his eyes shut and kissed back dearly, their lips melding together, fingers fumbling to hold onto each other. It was fitting. Everything was beautifully fitting.
Taehyung pulled Jungkook into his lap, both sitting on the grass with the box of ring laying forgotten nearby. Jungkook put his head against Taehyung's shoulder, gripping his shirt and Taehyung pressed his cheek to Jungkook's hair, holding him tightly. Jungkook looked at Taehyung through his teary eyes, "I love you. Just please- please continue saying what you were saying before."
"Okay. I was saying... yes you are amazing. You are the most amazing person in the whole world but you are- you are so much more. You are gorgeous, beautiful. You are the love of my life- no you- you are literally my life and my family, my best friend. I don't know what I will do without you. Sometimes- sometimes I feel like you would disappear if I don't hold you very tightly. I remember once I woke up and you were not in bed and I freaked the fuck out." Taehyung said, holding Jungkook very tightly.
"You started screaming and crying."
"I was terrified. I thought you evaporated and then you came running from the kitchen and I told you that you evaporated. You smacked my head and told me that you were right there and it wasn't even scientifically possible." Taehyung giggled, kissing Jungkook's forehead, "I'm so dumb."
"You are sometimes. You are a dork, but you are my dork. And I love you. I wouldn't give you away for a million dollars." Jungkook said, fiddling with Taehyung's fingers. Taehyung looked at him, "A billion dollars?"
"No."
"A trillion?"
"Taehyung I wouldn't give you away to save my life, stop asking ridiculous questions." Jungkook snapped. Taehyung hummed, "I would."
Jungkook didn't say anything.
"I would hundred percent give you away to save your life. I'm not selfish, you know." Taehyung said in a small voice. Jungkook looked at him and then looked away, eyes brimming up with tears, "You- you should shut up right now before I start crying like a baby. Just- weren't you going to propose?"
"Fuck the proposal. Let's sit here like this for the rest of the night. I'm scared that you will say no if I ask you to marry me." Taehyung said, wiping Jungkook's tears away with his thumb again and kissing his cheeks.
"Why would I say no?" Jungkook asked.
Taehyung gulped, looking anxious once again, "I don't know. I just think you would say no- I know you won't but I'm still scared. Because- because maybe I'm still not good enough for you. I'm not. I don't deserve you Kookie, I sometimes wonder why I got so lucky to have you as my boyfriend- not sometimes, all the time. It seems too good to be true so I'm- I get super paranoid that you will leave me one day. Please don't. I don't know what I'll do without you. I'll go crazy if you are not by my side forever."
"Tae." Jungkook said softly, caressing his hair, "I'm not leaving. Never. I'll- I'll die in your very arms one day."
"Shut up. I called dibs first. I'll die first." Taehyung said quickly, screwing his eyes shut. Jungkook looked at him, "You can't call dibs on this. This is not-"
"Hush. Shh. Shut up. Shut up. I don't want to think about it." Taehyung said, placing his hand over Jungkook's mouth and quietening him. Taehyung looked at him, "I just know... that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to be yours and I want to have a family with you. But I'm still scared that you don't want that with me."
"Tae, I love you-"
"No you don't understand!" Taehyung cried out, clutching Jungkook's waist, "Sometimes I still feel like- like we went back in time and you don't love me- not like you don't show that you love me- but like the things that happened never happened. And I feel like I'm just dreaming, just wishing for things to turn out this way but they never will. Because I don't deserve you."
"What are you even saying? We are together, we are in love. We are meant to be together and everything was supposed to turn out this way. It wouldn't be any way else." Jungkook assured, taking Taehyung's face in his hands.
"I don't want it to. I just want it to be the two of us, forever. Just- Just a pretty little Jungkookie and a dumb little Taehyungie who are in love with each other." Taehyung said softly and Jungkook shook his head, smiling, "Just a pretty little Jungkookie and a pretty little Taehyungie... who are in love with each other and will be, for the rest of their lives."
Both started giggling, pressing their foreheads together, "We are the lamest human beings alive."
"This is called love, darling." Taehyung swooned, pressing his lips to Jungkook's jaw, "And also we are the lamest human beings ever too."
"Is this where the ring comes in?" Jungkook asked.
"Oh no. My speech is still left. Go stand up and then we can get over with this." Taehyung said and Jungkook stood up. Taehyung picked up the box from the floor and got on one knee again, holding the unopened box in his hand.
"Jeon Jungkook, I want you to know that... I love you. You're so precious. When you smile- I mean you are precious in every way. I love all of you, everything. From your really sparkly and glittery eyes to your- your cute little dick. Okayyyyy I should NOT have said that. Ignore that. Delete. Backspace. Dicks should not be a part of proposal speeches. I swear I didn't write that down. I don't remember a single thing I wrote and I'm gonna say random bullshit so deal with it. Not my problem that you chose me as your boyfriend. I'm glad you did though- thank you."
Jungkook was smiling really big, tears shimmering in his really sparkly and glittery eyes and a pretty pink hue dancing on his cheeks. He had his fists bunched by his sides nervously and was biting his lips, looking at Taehyung with so much love that Taehyung felt like he could share it. Not that he would.
"Seriously Jungkook, thank you. Thank you for being with me through all this time. Thank you for taking care of me. Thank you for being my best friend and listening to my dumb ass rants in the middle of the night. You are a great friend. Everyone would want you as their friends but ha ha on them because you are all mine. You are my best friend even now and I appreciate that- I did appreciate it all the time but I guess I wasn't good at showing it. I'm gonna show that now, because I still love you as a friend-"
"Tae, you are hardcore friend zoning me right now." Jungkook sniffled, a tear falling out of his eye. Taehyung looked at him, "Am I? Sorry. Let's boy friend zone you now. I did that already five years back though. Exactly five years back, do you remember?" Taehyung asked, grinning.
"Of course I do. You were so brave and you came out to everyone." Jungkook said and Taehyung smiled, "Yeah. Tonight. I was so anxious this day five years back and I am so anxious five years later. Déjà vu. I got that prettiest boy to be mine. I still don't know how I managed that. I just felt so in love with you and I said everything that came up. Wow damn, it's been five years."
"Does only the person with the ring give a speech? Or can I say something too?" Jungkook asked in a delicate voice. Taehyung blinked at him, "Of course you can baby. I am wetting my pants by having to speak alone."
Jungkook let out a small laugh and held his hand out for Taehyung. Taehyung held his hand and looked at him, a gentle smile on his face, "You know how you have been saying stuff about being the luckiest guy and not deserving me? Taehyung I- I think I am the luckiest guy ever. Because I got to take care of you, I got to spend time with you and be with you like we did. And if you will say that you don't deserve me then I will say that too. Because you- you are so precious too. And you deserve everything in the world. You are so beautiful too, my Taehyungie. I'm so proud of you." Jungkook said fondly.
Taehyung was listening quietly, his eyes closed, holding onto Jungkook's hand. He had a small smile on his face but Jungkook could tell he was about to start crying, "And you are so strong. I'm glad you opened up to me about everything. It took time but- but that's how we fell so in love. I love you Taehyung, so much. I'm so, so thankful for having you with me." Jungkook said.
Taehyung let his hand go and popped open the box in his hand. Jungkook looked down at the ring and widened his teary eyes. Taehyung looked up at him, "I'm husband zoning you now."
Jungkook let out a small sniff, hiding his face in his hands and Taehyung cleared his throat loudly, "Jungkook, look at me darling. Don't cry." Taehyung cooed and Jungkook removed his hands from his face, smiling down at Taehyung.
Taehyung cleared his throat again.
"Jeon Jungkook, my baby, my love, my everything..." Taehyung voiced out softly, hands shaking, "Will you marry me baby?"
"Y-yes." Jungkook cried, "Yes. Yes. Yes. I will."
Taehyung took his hand and slipped the ring onto his finger carefully. Jungkook immediately pulled his chin up and kissed him, throwing himself on top of Taehyung, "It's so pretty. Thank you."
"It's nothing compared to you." Taehyung said, kissing Jungkook again, both laying in each other arms on the ground, facing the sky. Jungkook blushed and continued kissing him and then gave out a sigh, flopping down in his arms, "I'm so happy."
"Me too." Taehyung whispered, kissing his head.
Both laid like that, staring at the stars dancing in the night sky, their fingers entangled with each other. It was silent for a while, just their heavy, content breathing and the sound of the wind-"
"Oh my god. A shooting star." Jungkook gasped, pointing upwards suddenly as a flash of silver passed their head, "Make a wish quickly Taehyung."
Both boys clasped their hands together.
"Please let Jungkook and Taehyung be together forever." Jungkook wished, eyes squeezed shut tightly.
"Make us immortal, oh lord." Taehyung wished, copying Jungkook's voice.
Jungkook smacked his arm, laughing, "You had the best chance to ask for something you want." He said and Taehyung hummed, "But I don't want anything. I have everything I need right here." He cooed, placing his fingers under Jungkook's chin and kissing his lips.
"God, save me from diabetes." Jungkook commented, unable to hide his big grin. Taehyung chuckled and hugged him tightly from the waist, hiding his face in his neck. They rest of the night. Just the two boys simply being with each other, just enjoying , looking into each other's eyes and falling in love all over again.
It was meant to be like that.
Just a pretty little Jungkookie and a pretty little Taehyungie, who were in love with each other and will be for the rest of their lives (because God made them immortal).
