EIGHTEEN

Taehyung lazily dragged his suitcase behind him to his hotel room. He sighed and unlocked the room that he had been given with a deep uncomfortable feeling in his chest.

His father had thrown the keys at him and had told him come to the lobby by five o' clock and stay out of his sight until then. Taehyung also hadn't planned on sitting and talking to him about his childhood days.

He had locked himself in one of the rooms during the six hour flight, not wanting to hear Jaesun tell him that he should be glad that he is flying in his father's private plane. He tried to get some sleep during the flight but the uncomfortable feeling in his chest wouldn't go away.

He entered his hotel room, locked the door behind him and looked around. The room was huge. It was a suite, all modern and clean and elegant. There was a huge glass window which looked upon the city from high up.

Taehyung put his suitcase to the side walked up to the window looking down. He could see the Eiffel Tower in a distance.

Taehyung placed his hands on the glass gently and looked down upon the cars moving in the lively town below. The view from up here was amazing. Even the hotel suite was amazing. Everything was amazing but Taehyung wasn't happy, wasn't content at all.

He closed his eyes, feeling the smooth cold glass under his fingertips.

"You know the main reason I want to get married?" Jungkook asked as he laid in bed beside Taehyung, staring up at the ceiling.

"Why?" Taehyung asked and Jungkook took in a deep breath then closed his eyes.

"So that I can spend my honeymoon in a huge, elegant hotel suite that has a huge glass wall looking upon the city." Jungkook whispered.

"That's a weird reason." Taehyung chuckled and Jungkook hummed.

"It is but I really love the view. The feeling you get when you are standing high up in a building, in a gorgeous hotel room and you look upon the cars moving and people walking by down below. I want to experience that feeling." Jungkook said and Taehyung looked at him.

"Why don't you just go and stay in some hotel like that? Why get married?" He asked.

"One, I don't have money and my parents won't let me go but if it's my honeymoon then obviously I can go." He chuckled and Taehyung smiled, flipping onto his stomach and looking at Jungkook, "And two?"

"Two, I want to go there with someone I love. My future wife. Imagine standing there looking out of the window and you wife walks up behind you and hugs you from behind and you turn around and kiss her. I want to do that." Jungkook said softly, eyes closed.

Taehyung stared at him, noticing how his lashes lay prettily on his cheeks and how his delicate skin glowed, enhancing his soft features.

Jungkook opened his eyes and turned his head to look at Taehyung, who was still staring at him, "Wouldn't that be amazing?" He asked in awe.

Taehyung stared into his sparkling honey eyes and then smiled softly, "Yeah. That would be amazing." He replied before burying his face into his pillow to think about how amazing it really would be.

Taehyung smiled at the year old memory, remembering it vividly. He remembered how Jungkook talked about it so fondly, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

Taehyung stared down at the city, feeling exactly like Jungkook said it would feel. Amazing. Except for a fact that something was missing. A loved one.

Then he felt this sudden urge to have Jungkook with him there. He imagined Jungkook walking up to him and hugging him from behind and then imagined himself turning around and kissing Jungkook gently, caressing his cheek and holding the fragile boy in his arms.

Taehyung frowned and shook his head, discarding the image from his mind. Why would he even think that? This moment was supposed to be shared with one's lover. Jungkook wasn't his lover, he didn't even have any romantic feelings towards Jungkook. So why?

Was it because Jungkook was his best friend? Maybe. Yeah, that was the only answer.

Taehyung walked back to the bed. It was a pretty bed. Circular in shape and made of dark, almost black, wood with white silk sheets covering the soft mattress. There was a canopy over the bed and net curtains were hanging from it. The side tables were also circular, made of dark wood, complimenting the furry white rug on the floor. They were decorated with roses and candles.

Taehyung stood there, staring at the furniture and another image flew into his head.

Jungkook was laying on the bed, naked, his smooth pale skin looking unreal as the silk glided over it. He was lifting himself up on his elbows, legs spread open and pretty little hole fluttering, clenching around for Taehyung.

He was laying between the rose petals, looking as gorgeous as always, lips red and parted slightly, cheeks flushed, hair messed up and his big does holding rhe entire universe in them as they slowly blinked up at Taehyung.

Taehyung imagined himself leaning in and capturing the boy's lips in a simple yet meaningful kiss. He imagined Jungkook gasping and moaning out prettily as Taehyung ran his lips over his sensitive skin. He imagined- No stop.

Taehyung shook his head again, clearing the images from his mind. Why was he imagining such things? This isn't right.

He groaned and laid down on the bed and stared at the ceiling, counting as the seconds went by, each seeming longer and stretched out than the previous one. He turned to his side and picked up a rose from a vase, sliding it over his face and sniffing in the refreshing scent.

He pulled it away and looked at the blooming flower in his hand. Roses always reminded him of Jungkook, so pretty, inside and outside. Not that he had seen a rose from inside. No wait- he did disect a rose in grade sixth or seventh. It was not so pretty from the inside and it was all sticky- anyways!

So Jungkook reminded him of roses. So pretty, so fragile and so beauti-. Taehyung frowned to himself. Did he almost call Jungkook beautiful? What the hell is wrong with him? He didn't think Jungkook was beautiful. He was pretty, yes, he was cute, yes, he was gorgeous, yes! But not beautiful.

Taehyung put the rose back and shut his eyes tightly. Maybe he should just go to sleep. He was imagining weird and stupid and meaningless things otherwise.

The voice in the back of Taehyung's mind spoke up. Weird? Yeah, this whole ordeal was a little weird. Stupid? Yeah he was stupid for imagining such stupid, stupid, things. Meaningless? Yeah this thing with Jungkook was- meaningless? No. No it isn't. But now he wpuld get married and everything would be as meaningless as ever.

Oh My God! He was getting married! OH MY GOD! Taehyung got up, suddenly out of breath. Maybe the seriousness of the situation hadn't kicked in last night but it sure was kicking in now, and hard.

He got up from the bed and started pacing across the room, trying to calm himself down. He ran a hand through his hair and groaned, breathing deeply. He was freaking out. He couldn't just marry someone he didn't even know. He couldn't just give in to his parents wishes.

If he got married, he'd have to stay away from Jungkook. He wouldn't be able to touch Jungkook. He wouldn't be able to kiss Jungkook. He wouldn't be able to have sex with Jungkook and- OH MY GOD! He couldn't let this happen. He couldn't leave Jungkook. He wasn't strong enough.

Taehyung opened the door of his suite and ran out, knocking loudly on the door of the room next to his own. After a while, the door opened and Sunmi looked out.

"What? Can't you let us rest after a whole six hour flight?" She snapped, irritated.

"Sorry. I- I want to talk to Dad." Taehyung said, breathing heavily. She stepped back, holding the door open for Taehyung to enter.

"Did I not ask you to stay out of my sight till five o' clock? And according to my calculations, there are still five hours left." Jaesun was sitting in a chair in the corner of the room with a cigar in his hand.

"I want to go home." Taehyung let out.

"What?" Jaesun asked, flicking the ashes in a marble ashtray.

"Dad, I want to go home. I don't want to meet whoever I am supposed to meet. I am not going to whatever party I am supposed to go." Taehyung said in one go and Jaesun hummed, getting up from the chair and leaving the cigar in the ashtray.

"That is what you came to say?" he asked, voice dropping to almost a whisper. Taehyung felt his insides suddenly clench up in fear and stepped back.

"I-I-" He stammered at a loss of words, then felt his throat go dry. Jaesun stepped forward and Taehyung stepped back, into the wall.

"Speak up." Jaesun growled lowly and Taehyung closed his eyes, heart beating wildly against his ribs.

'I am not scared. I am not scared. I AM NOT-" Taehyung chanted in his head but Jaesun slammed his hand on the wall besides Taehyung's head and Taehyung flinched, now shaking in fear.

"Be a man and speak up!" Jaesun shouted and Taehyung gulped. He closed his eyes again and-

"Do you really think I want this all to stop?" Jungkook said, tracing a finger down Taehyung's jaw to his chest.

"Never." Taehyung said and kissed Jungkook. Jungkook put a hand on his neck, pulling him closer and pressing their tongues together, simply getting lost into each other after a week of craving.

"I don't want all of this to ever stop. I will never leave you Baby. Never." Taehyung said, pulling away.

"Me neither." Jungkook whispered and hid his face in Taehyung's chest.

"Yeah." Taehyung opened his eyes and looked at Jaesun in the eye. "And I am not going to marry whoever it is that you want me to marry either." Jaesun smirked, "Good."

He grabbed Taehyung by the arm and dragged him out to his room, pushed him in and walked in after him, locking the door behind them. Taehyung tried to claw his hand away but Jaesun just gripped his arm tighter, digging his nails in.

He pushed Taehyung against the wall and then threw a punch to his stomach. Taehyung cried out in pain and held his stomach but Jaesun punched him again. And again. And again. And again until Taehyung was on the floor, groaning in pain, coughing up blood.

"S-stop. Please." Taehyung chocked out but Jaesun slapped him, silencing his pleas.

He didn't show any mercy and started kicking Taehyung. He kicked his back and his stomach and his legs and his shins and everywhere to the point where Taehyung was scrunched up in a corner, holding his head in his hands, not being able to move.

"Listen here you useless piece of crap." Jaesun said, holding up Taehyung's head which was flopping to the side, eyes shut and almost passed out, "You are going to the party. You are going to meet whoever I want you to meet and you are going to marry whoever I want you to marry." He spat.

"Got it?" He yelled and Taehyung grunted out in response, unable to form any words due to the coppery taste filling his mouth.

"And don't you dare talk to me like that ever again." He growled getting up and walking to the door.

"W-why?" Taehyung mumbled and Jaesun stopped, looking at him with a frown, "What?"

"W-why do you al-always hit me? C-cant you be like- like a normal f-father?." Taehyung choked out, "A - aren't I your-your s-son?"

"Yes you are my son. But you are the biggest mistake of my life. You and your lousy excuse for a brother." Jaesun snickered and then walked out slamming the door shut.

Ohkay.

So turns out, it was not just a party.

It was not some meet up of Taehyung and his future in laws.

Nope.

It was an engagement ceremony.

"Ah you must be Kim Jaesun's son. Kim Taehyung, right?" An elderly man with slick black hair, a crispy suit and a gentle face smiled, putting his hand out in Taehyung's direction. Taehyung, who was looking around the place, staring at the sea, snapped his attention back to the man.

Taehyung smiled at him and bowed, taking his hand and shaking it firmly, "Yes sir. It's an honor, finally getting to meet you." He smiled at the man who nodded at him warmly.

Taehyung straightened up when his body protested painfully to the movement, a pained expression taking over his features of merely a second but he composed himself.

"This, Taehyung, is your future father-in-law. Choi Sui." Jaesun said, smiling up at Taehyung. Taehyung rolled his eyes in his mind at how fake Jaesun and his smile was.

"I didn't expect you to be this handsome, Taehyung, if I'm being honest." Siu said.

"Why thank you sir. I didn't expect you to be this charming either." Taehyung said, bowing once again, his whole body aching. He still managed to keep up his firm demeanor.

"I like you." Sui laughed, patting Taehyung's head in a fatherly way, "I am sure my daughter will like you too."

"We are aching to meet the soon to be bride Mr. Choi. Where is she?" Sunmi smiled up at the man and he nodded.

"Now where might she be." He looked around, "Ah, there she is!" He said, clapping his hand and Taehyung turned to look. A girl, probably seventeen or eighteen, was walking towards them, laughing at something an elderly lady was saying to her.

"Kim Taehyung, this is my daughter, Choi Jia. Jia, your future husband, Kim Taehyung." Sui said, introducing them both to each other. Taehyung bowed down in a gentleman-y way and Jia smiled.

"You are really charming, just like your father here." Taehyung commented and Sui laughed.

"Thank you." Jia said shyly. She was pretty, really pretty with long black waist length hair, which were straightened and let down.

She had a cute round face, long lashes and fair skin. Her body was slim, the black dress that she was wearing, hugging perfectly to her curves, looking good but still not too revealing.

She wore silver hoop earrings along with sliver rings on her dainty hands which went well with her smokey eyes and nude lips. She had a pretty smile too.

"And who might this be?" Taehyung asked, extending his hand out to the elderly lady besides Jia.

"This might be my missus. Beautiful, isn't she?" Sui asked, hugging his wife from the side fondly.

"Indeed." Taehyung said, bowing down to her curtly.

The adults started talking amongst themselves soon after and Taehyung and Jia looked around awkwardly, not knowing what to do. Taehyung rubbed the back of his neck and looked around.

It was a formal cruise party. Everyone was in simple yet expensive looking suits. Taehyung too had a fine black suit on, buttoned at his stomach and a simple black tie tucked in. He had styled his hair by parting them from the middle.

"Taehyung and Jia, why don't you go and spend some time together? Get to know each other while the adults talk okay?" Mrs. Choi said sweetly and both of them nodded, walking to a corner and standing by the railing of the ship.

There was a tense silence between them as both didn't know what to say. Taehyung sighed and decided to speak up.

"Do you really want to marry me?" He asked, leaning against the rail and looking into the sea.

"You want me to be honest?" Jia asked leaning against the edge too. Taehyung tilted his head and squinted his eyes at her, "Yeah."

"I am being forced into this marriage." Taehyung looked at her with wide eyes, "You too?" She looked at Taehyung and then at her parents.

"My parents literally don't care about anything else but money and business." She said glaring at them. Taehyung turned to look at them too, "They seem like nice people." He mumbled and Jia scoffed.

"Nice people, yeah right. My father slapped me when I refused to marry a stranger." Taehyung looked at her for a second then started laughing.

She frowned, "What?"

"You-your father slapped you?" He shook his head to stop his giggles, "My father literally beat the shit out of me till I was coughing up blood." He laughed like it was the funniest thing ever.

"Are you serious?" Jia looked at him with a horrified expression and Taehyung nodded, pulling his sleeve up a bit to show her the bruises and cuts on his arm from how harshly his father gripped it.

"Oh- my God!" She gasped and placed a hand on the bruise, making Taehyung wince. She withdrew her hand immediately, "I'm sorry."

"It's okay." He said, pulling his sleeve down. He reached out and picked up two glasses of champagne from a waiter passing by and handed one to Jia. She took it and smiled, thanking him.

"Why don't both of us just refuse to get married?" He asked, taking a sip of his champagne. Jia looked at him like he was crazy, "We can't. Not in front of this many people." She said and Taehyung furrowed his brows.

"Why not?" He frowned and Jia looked at him in disbelief, then sighed, "Don't tell me you don't know."

"Know what?" Taehyung asked, panicking.

"Do you think this is a simple meet up party?" She asked and Taehyung nodded with confused eyes, "That's what my parents told me."

"It's not. It's our engagement ceremony." She stated and Taehyung's jaw dropped, staring at her in disbelief.

Jia snapped her fingers infront of his faceand Taehyung huffed. He ran a hand through his hair in annoyance, messing them all up.

"What the hell! I- oh my god." He groaned, rubbing his hand over his face. "Fuck- what the fuck? Tell me you are joking."

"I'm not." Jia said bitterly and turned to glare at her parents.

Taehyung also turned around and glared at his parents. Both of them had their arms crossed, backs against the railing, champagne glasses in hand and a frown on their faces.

"We can't do anything?" Taehyung asked and Jia clicked her tongue, "Suicide? Yes. Something else? No."

"I want to throw this glass at my fathers head." He mumbled and rose the glass up, closing his eyes as if he was aiming.

Jia looked around, then turned to Taehyung.

"Do it. No one's looking." She said and Taehyung looked at her with a weird look.

"But what if it hurts him?" He asked and Jia rose an eyebrow.

"Do you care?" Taehyung paused for a second and then threw the glass to where their parents were standing, both of them immediately turning away from the crime scene.

The glass shattered between Sui and Jaesun's feet, causing all four of the adults to jump. Mrs. Choi and Sunmi let out shrill screams, shaken by the sudden noise. Jaesun and Sui also jumped a feet into the air and started shaking their legs to see if they were okay.

A few people around them also got startled. Taehyung and Jia pretended to slowly turn around and looked around with confused expressions as to what happened.

Seeing his father jumping around and shaking his pants, Taehyung let out a snort, turning away immediately to hide his red face and trying to hold in his laughter.

"That- was the best fucking thing I have ever done in my life." He bit his lip, face all red from trying to hold in his laugh. Jia turned to him with amused eyes, "That- was the best fucking thing I have ever witnessed." She hiccuped.

They looked back. Mrs. Choi and Sunmi were dusting of their husband's clothes who were still shaking their legs, the edge of their pants soaked in champagne. All of them ran inside the ship, to the restrooms probably.

Taehyung looked at Jia. She looked back at him.

And they both burst out laughing.

Taehyung held the railing of the ship to help himself and not topple over as he laughed, tears in his eyes. Jia put a hand to her mouth, tears in her eyes too, both dying from laughter. The people around them gave them weird looks but they couldn't give two fucks.

It took them quite a while to calm down, the fact that they were getting engaged without their wills drawing them out of their little 'session'.

Taehyung groaned, turning serious once again, and kicked the railing of the ship, earning looks from people nearby, again. He ignored them and kicked it again.

"Hey listen here." Jia said, grabbing his arm and pulling him back from the poor railing, "We have to say yes right now but we will break up as soon as we can okay?" Jia said, raising her brows.

Taehyung rolled his eyes, "What if they force us even further? Into literally getting married?"

"We will get a divorce or something. I don't care." She said and Taehyung nodded.

"Okay." He took in a breath as he saw his parents approaching him and Jia's parents approaching her.

"Taehyung can we talk to you for a second." His father said in a tone way too sweet for his monstrous personality. Taehyung walked up to him and Jaesun handed him a velvet box then leaned into his ear.

"Go and propose Jia. Right now. " He growled, all the sweetness leaking out of his voice in an instant. Taehyung wordlessly took the box from his hand and turned around, wishing that he had thrown the glass at his head instead of his feet.

"Wow. You didn't use your filthy little mouth to argue." Jaesun snickered. Taehyung just ignored him and walked up to Jia, who was glumly standing in the middle of the deck, hands crossed over her chest.

Taehyung walked up to her and took in a deep breath, taking her hands in his own and leaned in to her ear, making it seem like he was having a regular conversation with his 'girlfriend'.

"What should I say?" He whispered into her ear, knowing that everyone was watching.

"Anything." Jia shrugged and Taehyung squinted at her, "I don't know what to say, like nothing at all." He said and Jia looked at him with squinted eyes, "Don't you watch movies or something?" She asked.

"Don't you?" Taehyung asked and she rolled her eyes, "Just call me amazing and ask me to marry you."

Taehyung nodded and moved away a bit, holding her hands in his own and cleared his throat.

"Choi Jia, you are the most amazing person I have ever seen in my life. I think you are really... amazing- yeah you are amazing, very amazing." Taehyung nodded to himself and then got down on one knee, holding up the ring, "Will you marry me?"

Jia put a hand over her mouth and widened her eyes, pretending to be surprised.

"Oh my god! Yes!" She chirped in a overly high voice and Taehyung stood up, taking her hand and slipping the big diamond ring on her finger. Everyone started clapping and cheering.

Taehyung looked around, unsure of what to do. Jia leaned into his ear.

"Kiss me, you idiot." She hissed so Taehyung leaned in and pressed his lips to hers. She put his hands over his neck and kissed him back. They pulled away after a second and Taehyung took Jia by her hand, leading her through the crowd.

"You really don't watch movies do you?" Jia asked, "You literally called me amazing thrice and then asked me to marry you."

Taehyung shrugged, "You asked me to do that so it's not my fault. Plus your acting skills suck." He commented and Jia put a hand to her heart, gasping.

"You call me a bad actor when you didn't even know that people are supposed to kiss after getting engaged." Taehyung rolled his eyes.
"Give me your hand." Jia said suddenly and Taehyung looked at her.

"No, I am not running away with you." He said, tucking his hands into his coat. Jia smacked his head, then reached out and grabbed his hand by the wrist and Taehyung flinched, pulling it back.

"Fuck, I'm so sorry. I forgot." Jia said, and Taehyung nodded, rubbing his wrist. He held out his hand in her direction and Jia slipped a ring on his finger.

"You have to wear this too." She told him and Taehyung looked at the plain silver ring occupying his ring finger.

"I can't believe I'm engaged and I never once had a proper girlfriend." Taehyung chuckled dryly and Jia looked at him.

"You have never had a girlfriend?" She asked, amused. Taehyung shook his head.

"So you are that nerdy kind of guy who sits in the front of the class and doesn't get any girls?" She asked and Taehyung rose an eyebrow at her.

"Yeah." He nodded and Jia chuckled, "You are lying." She accused and Taehyung pursed his lips, "Of course I am. Do I look like a nerd? And ehm- not getting any girls?"

"Ah, you are the schools fuck boy?" She asked and Taehyung frowned, "That sounds a bit vulgur doesn't it?" He asked, scrunching up his nose.

"If you really are, then no." She stated then looked at the sea, "Our lives literally suck. The only good thing about mine is my boyfriend and I would have to break up with him."

"You really like your boyfriend don't you?" Taehyung asked, looking at how Jia's eyes lightened talking about her boyfriend. Jia nodded, smiling brightly.

"He is literally the most perfect person I have ever met. He is so kind, so cute, so hot and ugh!" She bunched her hand into fists, blushing and smiling. Taehyung smiled too and looked away.

"What about you?" Jia asked and Taehyung continued staring at the sea, "What about me?"

"Do you have someone who makes your sucking life suck less?" She said and Taehyung chuckled closing his eyes.

Does he have someone? Someone who makes him happy? Makes him smile?

Taehyung I know you are not telling me the whole thing but please, please take care. Promise me.

You should get some sleep Taehyungie. It's late.

I would always listen to you Tae.

Take care of yourself please. Good night.

Taehyung smiled at the image of Jungkook with his cute bunny smile and big sparkly eyes.

"Yeah." He whispered, more to himself than to Jia, "Maybe I do."

The next day, Taehyung and his parents went over to Jia's place for lunch. Taehyung and Jia kept quiet most of the time, only speaking when spoken to otherwise eating silently. There parents started talking about some business deals so they excused themselves and walked away.

"Business, money and deals. That's all these people care for! "Jia said angrily as she showed Taehyung around the house.

"Tell me about it." Taehyung said bitterly.

"Anyways, lets talk about something else. You didn't tell me about the special person yesterday. Is she your girlfriend?" Jia asked, nudging Taehyung with her elbow and wiggling her brows.

"No." Taehyung chuckled.

"Boyfriend?" He shook his head again, "I'm straight."

"Then who is it?" Jia asked and Taehyung smiled, "My best friend. He is literally the cutest little thing ever." Taehyung said fondly and Jia rose an eyebrow at him.

"He is just your friend?" Taehyung nodded, "Nothing more?" Jia asked and Taehyung shook his head.

She paused and crossed her arms over her chest, looking at Taehyung with a smirk.

Taehyung paused too and looked at her, "What?"

"Then why are you blushing so much?"
