Chapter 3: Sunday - Monday

"Hey Jia," Taehyung smiled.

Jia smiled back at him, "You're late."

"What?" Taehyung frowned and checked his watch, "I'm like - three minutes late. That's not late."

"Late and stinky."

"What??" Taehyung gasped and Jia just shrugged, smug. Taehyung pulled the front of his shirt forward and sniffed himself, "Liar."

"I'm not lying. Everyone within a fifty meter radius can probably smell you."

"Dude - really?" Taehyung asked, now looking very worried, his brows ceased together, "I did put on a lot of spray though. Just gimme a minute okay? I'll be right back-" mumbled Taehyung while getting up but Jia grabbed his arm, breaking into a little laugh at how worried Taehyung looked, "I'm kidding."

Taehyung squinted his eyes at her, "Bitch."

Jia chuckled to herself, "Relax. The world won't end if you don't smell like a walking talking axe bottle at all times."

"They have a special place in hell for people like you," Taehyung said as he sat back down on the chair, "And this is not axe, by the way."

Jia leaned forward and placed her face against the palm of her hand, smiling, "And I am very interested in this conversation."

Taehyung rolled his eyes and leaned back into the chair, a small smile making its way onto his lips, "Bitch."

"Boy, you really gotta work on your insults," Jia said. Taehyung rolled his eyes again, "The expressions too."

"So, did you ask me out just to insult me?" Taehyung asked.

Jia looked at him and raised her eyebrow, "Excuse me, I didn't ask you out. You asked me out."

"You texted me 'hey honey, can I take you out to lunch tomorrow'."

"I'm pretty sure I said 'wanna go eat at 4'."

"That's literally the same thing," Taehyung said and Jia nodded, amused, "Sure."

"Yes, you asked me out and you're gonna be paying-"

"I'm gonna be paying?" Jia asked, raising his eyebrow. Taehyung nodded and she sighed, "Fine, but only because I took your hoodie."

"The peach one??" Taehyung asked. Jia hummed, "Yes, the baby pink one."

"Dude - I've been looking for it everywhere." Taehyung gasped, "Give it back."

"You gave it to me yourself! You said 'Jia take this' when I came to your place the other day."

"I said 'Jia put it in the cupboard'."

"Literally the same thing."

Taehyung picked up a tissue from the table, crumpled it and threw it at her head, "No, it's not."

Jia caught it and threw it back at Taehyung, "Fine, come take it then."

"I will." Taehyung said.

They ordered soon after that. Taehyung ordered chow mein and Jia got some weird named sushi. Then Taehyung leaned back on his chair and looked at Jia.

Choi Jia.

Taehyung's dad and Jia's mom had been friends since forever so Jia and Taehyung had been friends since forever.

The kind of friend that your other friends (and the whole school in Taehyung's case) thought was your girlfriend. But it was not true. She was just a friend. Maybe. He didn't know.

Jia leaned her elbow on the table, hand against her cheek and blinked. Taehyung leaned forward too, placing his hand against the scruff of his neck.

They both stared at each other for a second and Jia tilted her head to the side, "Did you come here just so you could stare at me?"

Taehyung tilted his head to the side too, "No. I was just thinking."

"Thinking how I'm the most breathtaking woman you've ever seen?" Jia asked and wiggled her brows at him, teasingly.

Taehyung chuckled, "Thinking how you can eat raw fish every day of your life. What are you, a cat?"

Jia let out a laugh, "That is SO not what you were thinking."

"That SO is what I was thinking!" Taehyung chuckled.

"It's about time you admit you find me sexy," said Jia.

She was sexy, there was no denying it. With her long black hair and big green eyes. Taehyung still pretended to throw up, "As sexy as a cat can be, sure."

"Asshole," Jia mumbled under her breath, "Anyway, mom asked me to ask you to dinner tomorrow." Taehyung hummed, "Oh, dad asked me to ask you to lunch tomorrow."

"Um ... maybe we could do something between lunch and dinner then?" Jia said.

"A linner?"

"I mean ... they already call it a snack or tea or whatever but you do you i guess."

Taehyung chuckled.

The waiter brought over their food and they ate. Jia made Taehyung try this new eel thingy which was actually really good, but Taehyung told Jia all her choices sucked. Jia ate his last bite of chow mein. So Taehyung drank her margarita.

Then they talked a bit more - well Jia insulted Taehyung three times and Taehyung kicked her under the table and Jia kicked him back and they realized that the couple next to them was judging them so they stopped and gathered their stuff to leave.

"Well..." Taehyung said, slipping his hands into his pocket, walking alongside Jia as they exited the restaurant, "Do you want me to drop you home?"

Jia shook her head, "No, I'll walk."

"About time you started doing that, fatty."

Jia gasped and shoved Taehyung into the wall next to them. Taehyung laughed. Jia continued walking so he rushed after her.

It was dark now, barely any sunlight left. The street lights were all flickering on as the two walked down the street.

"Why are you following me?" Jia asked.

"I'm not following you. I'm just walking."

"Are you coming home with me?" Jia asked.

"Nah," Taehyung said, "Should I?"

"Nah. Also, your car is the other way."

"Rude." Taehyung mumbled, "You sure you don't want me to drive you home?" Jia shook her head again, "See you in school, Tae." She said. Taehyung opened his mouth to say something but then shut up when Jia leaned in and pressed a kiss to his cheek.

"Okay..." Taehyung said softly and Jia gave him a smile before walking away. Taehyung stood there, a smile on his lips, and watched the girl walk away.

"It's not something that you're born with. It's something that you learn over the course of your life through different experiences. Even if you're not at the stage that you wanna be at right now, don't let that put you off. We're always learning, we're always growing. That's what life is about-"

"Three minutes in with this guy and I wanna baptize myself." Yoongi sighed.

It was 11 am on a Monday morning and it was lunch time. Everyone was gathered in the cafeteria - busy eating, talking, laughing or doing whatever people do in cafeterias at 11 am on a Monday morning. Taehyung was busy giving a pep talk to some freshman kid he literally just met.

Taehyung reached out and smacked Yoongi at the back of his head without looking away from the boy, and then continued talking.

"Hey Taehyung, you eating this?"

Taehyung looked up at Jin and Jin pointed to the plate of fried rice that was sitting on the table in front of Taehyung, forgotten.

"You can have it if you want," Taehyung said. Jin happily pulled the plate to him and started eating it and Taehyung turned back to the freshman guy, who was now joined by two more of his freshie friends.

"I think it's great," Hoseok said and Yoongi gave him a quizzical look. Hoseok grabbed a spoon and dug into the plate of fried rice with Jin, "He starts talking and bam - we get free food."

"No, it's because I ate like three packs of oreos in Mr. Hwan's class," Taehyung replied, finally turning to the boys. Namjoon looked at him and hummed, "Oh yeah, about that. How come he lets you eat in class and if we do it, we get kicked out?"

Taehyung shrugged, "I just told him I couldn't concentrate on the calculus when my glucose level is low."

"No way he bought that."

"He did."

"Nah, I bet you did voodoo on him."

"How can I do voodoo on him, dude? It's done with chickens-"

"Hey, Taehyung." Taehyung stopped squinting his eyes at Yoongi and turned his head.

A girl with red hair was standing there. She was from his physics class. Her name was ... Jessie? Jennie? Taehyung was sure it was something with a J though, "Oh hey, what's up?"

"I just wanted to confirm if you'll still be able to make it to the party tonight. At my place?" She asked. Taehyung stared at her for a second. He didn't remember her inviting him to a party. "Oh, yeah of course. You did send me the address, right?"

"Um - no, actually. I don't have your number," She said, wringing her hands together nervously.

"That's alright. Can I put it in for you?" Taehyung asked. The girl nodded eagerly, quickly handing over her phone to Taehyung. Taehyung punched in his number and handed her the phone back. She looked really happy, "Alright, see you tonight then!" She said happily and then ran off.

Taehyung turned back to his friends and then paused. They were all glaring at him.

"What?" asked Taehyung.

"You were invited to the party?" Jin asked. Taehyung looked at him in confusion, "Yeah?"

"Who was gonna tell us? I thought we were to be together through thick and thin." Jimin said and Taehyung let out a chuckle, "What? I didn't even remember I was invited."

"That's not the point." Hoseok grumbled.

"It's not that big of a deal. You all can come with me." Taehyung laughed, looking at how sad everyone looked. Jimin glared at him, "How? That girl totally blew us off." Taehyung sighed and turned back. Her name had to be Jessie.

"Hey, Jessie?" Taehyung called out. The girl was sitting a table away from him, squealing over something on her phone with her friends. She got a bit startled and looked over at him,"Yeah?" Aha. It was Jessie.

"You wouldn't mind if my friends came too, would you?" Taehyung asked.

The girl glanced at the rest of the guys and then shook her head, "No, of course not."

Taehyung turned to them again, "There. Easy peasy."

Namjoon rolled his eyes, "That was like, super beggar stuff."

"Why are you all sulking? We go to a lot of parties," Taehyung said and Jin shook his head, "No. You go to a lot of parties. Girls totally ignore us."

"Yes, it's like discriminism."

"Okay, first of all, Hoseok, that's not a word. And secondly, maybe if you all actually try being approachable-"

"Or, you could stop being a smartass and sneak us into more of your parties," Yoongi suggested.

Taehyung rolled his eyes at him and then got up from his seat, "I have to go talk to the math teacher about something. I'll catch up with you guys later." The boys nodded at him and then busied themselves with their food.

Taehyung walked upstairs to the classroom and reached out to open the door but then paused -

There was someone inside.

He could hear people mumbling. Taehyung hesitated a little. Was there a class going on? Should he interrupt? Well, he didn't really have another class to go to since they didn't let students sit in classrooms during lunch. Professor Hwan gave Taehyung special permission. Maybe if he asked politely then - wait a second.

People were not mumbling. People were moaning.

Oh my god. People were having sex in Professor Hwan's classroom?? What the hell? They don't do that here. If someone, a teacher, was to catch them, they'd be straight up suspended, if not expelled. The school was very strict about these things.

The people inside were not even trying to be quiet. Yes, the classroom was at the end of the hallway on the second floor but that didn't mean no one would ever come. The voices were getting louder and - wait a damn second.

That voice - it was Jungkook.

Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Jungkook was moaning. And loud.

Taehyung hesitated a bit more but then he reached out and knocked on the door. He could hear the silence fall inside and then people scurrying about, probably putting clothes on.

Taehyung waited for 17 seconds and then pushed open the door, peeking inside.

"Jungkook???"

Jungkook was standing against one of the tables, his back to the door and was quickly buckling his belt. This girl from their class, Mika, was also there, adjusting her top.

Jungkook turned to the door upon hearing Taehyung's voice, "Oh, it's just you."

"It's just me?" Taehyung snapped, looking at Jungkook, then at Mika and then back at Jungkook, mouth hanging open, "What the hell are you two doing?"

"Um ... studying?" Jungkook tried.

"Dude, just-" Taehyung turned to Mika, "I need to talk to Jungkook for a second." Mika mumbled a little 'sure' and walked out. Taehyung turned back to Jungkook.

"Okay, first things first- why were you doing THAT here??" Taehyung asked. Jungkook gulped and looked away, "Look- it was..."

"Gross? Unhygienic? Disgusting? The best way to get caught and suspended?"

"No. It was fun, okay?" said Jungkook.

"Fun? It was fun?" asked Taehyung, "I mean - bungee jumping is fun."

"Alright Mom, I had an adrenaline rush and didn't think the whole thing through, big deal." Jungkook pushed past Taehyung and opened the door of the classroom.

"It is a big deal!" Taehyung exclaimed and walked out after him, "If it had been someone else who-"

"Taehyung!" Jungkook snapped loudly, "I got it!"

Taehyung paused, "I'm just asking you to be careful ... Not have sex in classrooms..."

"I was not having sex, Tae."

"Whatever you were doing."

"God, shut up!"

"I'm just saying-"

"Well, Don't - just say." Jungkook spun around to face him, pissed off. He wanted to say something. Then he stopped and stared at Taehyung weirdly. He opened his mouth again and then closed it.

"Professor Hwan almost came in, you know. If he'd have seen you-"

"You're hard."

"What?"

"You're hard." Jungkook repeated.

"W-What?" Taehyung asked again and looked at his crotch. Well - he was hard. Not just hard. Hard hard. Why was he hard??????

Taehyung placed his hands over his crotch to cover himself, his ears turned red from embarrassment. Jungkook kept staring at him, "Why are you hard?"

"I - I don't know??" Taehyung panicked. Jungkook had his eyes narrowed at him, standing in the middle of the hallway, hands in his pocket, carelessly. Jungkook kept staring first at Taehyung's face then at his crotch.

Taehyung didn't know what to say. So he did the best thing anyone in his situation would do - He turned on his heel and dashed back into the classroom before Jungkook could say anything.

Taehyung slammed the door shut and then leaned against the door with a big sigh.

All right, if he didn't already, now Jungkook definitely thought he was a weirdo.
