» Volume 2

"Where could he be?" Frankie questions herself, looking around the halls for dart. They'd all been searching for quite a while, but can't seem to find the creature anywhere.

Frankie doesn't think she wants to find it.

"Boo!" A voice hollers.

Frankie jumps at the sound, and lets out a loud shriek of terror. When she turns around, she is met with the sight of Dustin hunched over laughing.

She shoots him a fake glare, and holds her heart.

"Jesus, Dustin! You could've given me a heart attack," she exclaims.

"Sorry, Frankie, but I was the perfect opportunity!" He responds with a toothy grin.
The walkie talkie in his pocket goes off, and a voice booms through the speaker.

"Dustin? Dustin? Come in—"

"—What's up? Did you find Dart? Over and out." He responds.

She can tell the voice belongs to Will, and she gives a subconscious smile. (That Dustin doesn't miss).

"No, I didn't, b-but did you hear that? Was it Frankie? I-Is she alright?" Will nervously questions, worry in his voice.

Dustin grins, "Yeah, she's fine! I just decided to sneak up on her. You should've seen her face!"

Frankie rolls her eyes.

With that, Dustin puts his talkie away and begins to walk down the hall along side Frankie. The two are quiet, but every once in a while, Dustin will hum a tune she isn't familiar with.

After about 10 minutes with no signs of Dart, Will comes in on the walkie talkie.

"Guys...I found him."

Dustin and Frankie share a look before the boy quickly scrambles to get his walkie talkie out. Frankie feels a sudden sense of fear wash over her. She can't seem to pinpoint why she feels it.

"He's in the bathroom by Mr. Salerno's," the familiar voice of Alex whispers into her ear, although the ghost is no where in sight.

As Dustin asks Will, "where?", Frankie is already rushing towards the bathroom.

"In the bathroom by Mr. Salerno's," Will responds.

Dustin quickly tries to catch up to Frankie.

"Copy that," Mike's voice chirps.

Something invisible seems to slam right into Frankie, knocking the wind out of her. You know that feeling? You know how it makes it so hard to breathe?

"Outside! He's going outside! Turn around, go back!" Alex calls.

It takes a few minutes for Frankie to come to, but when she does, she turns right around and begins to run towards the exit doors. She passes Dustin along the way, who gives her a confused look.

"Frankie! Where are you going?" He yells, but Frankie is too focused to respond.

As she bursts through the exit doors, she frantically looks around. Will is no where in sight, and she feels like she might throw up from all the anxiety shaking her.

"WILL?!" She shouts, still looking around.

Finally, she spots him not too far from the school. Her feet take her running to him. Something isn't right. She can feel it. Whatever he's feeling, she can feel it too.

"W-Will?" She softly calls as she reaches the boy.

The sight of him makes her falter.

"Oh shit..." she stammers, "oh god...wake up, Will! Wake up! It's okay! It's me! Wake up!"

Her hands wrap around his shoulders and desperately shake him. His eyes are rolled back, and his skin looks deathly pale. No matter how hard she shakes him, he doesn't budge.
