Some of Rachel's storylines I don't agree with. I don't like that Ryan messed up Rachel's character and shutting down Lea's ideas for her character after sitting down with her to create Rachel.

One of the two storylines that I mostly don't agree with is how Rachel was towards Sunshine. In this instance, Ryan made Rachel be eerily similar to Santana, as even Santana would do what Rachel did.

It was out of character for Rachel and something not even Rachel would do. Yeah she was ambitious but she would never hurt anyone. Santana yes she would. But not Rachel.

Rachel should have actually been friends with Sunshine, as it seemed that Sunshine felt alone and didn't have any friends like she did. I would have written them as friends, best friends and not like how Ryan did, it was horrible and not Rachel like at all.

Another storyline I don't agree with is her feud with Santana. It was pointless, childlike and shouldn't have been written at all. I will admit that yes it was Santana's fault because by that point Santana and Rachel were somewhat friends, and Rachel did consider her a friend, and a true friend doesn't go behind one's back to audition for a role. That feud which was pointless and Rachel wanting to give 10 shows to Santana proved even more just how much Rachel valued honesty. Especially if you compare this to the West Side Story one. Rachel was willingly sharing Maria with Mercedes, as Rachel knew Mercedes wanted it, now if you fast forward to the understudy feud, Rachel didn't know about Santana being the understudy so yeah she's going to be angry about it as someone she thought was a true friend went behind her back.

While I admit that, I will point out that I also don't like the feud. They were meant to he grown adults, not highschool students. Here is what I would changed it too.

Firstly: funny girl would have been in S6 with Rachel singing Don't Rain on My Parade as the closing song for the whole show. As Rachel's dream role was Fanny Brice not be in Jane Austen Sings. The smart thing would have been to make Funny Girl in S6 and Rachel get there on her own merit. The musical I would have made it would be Wicked or West Side Story.

Secondly: instead of the feud I would have actually given them a more mature storyline as like I said they were meant to be adults not teenagers. The storyline I would have is Rachel actually being the troubletones glee director in S4 with Santana by her side as her co director to give Tina captaincy and her rightful and well deserved spotlight, and I would also have Rachel pregnant by Brody but suffer a miscarriage, and have Santana help her through it.

Another storyline for Rachel I would have is her having Finn's teaching storyline instead of Sam, have Rachel finish what Finn started

And instead of Samchel I would have a student/teacher storyline with Rachel and Skylar since technically Rachel wasn't an actual teacher, it wouldn't be that illegal and Rachel and Skylar are also technically closer in age too.

Plus instead of Rachel being with Jesse I would have her single in the end, or even be with Puck or Sebastian (canonically making Sebastian bisexual and having it confirmed through Sebastian himself since in the show his sexaulity isn't mentioned or confirmed to be gay and not even Grant mentioned or confirmed Sebastian's sexaulity to be gay, all he said was that he hopes Sebastian is the heir to Sue, and we can have Sebastian be whatever sexuality we desire)

I also would have Rachel be bisexual

Another storyline for Rachel i don't think she should have had is the student election storyline and the storyline of being in the TV show.

While I think that Rachel just wanted to explore more options I would have actually gotten Rachel to get a teaching degree instead so she has something to fall back on after Broadway, and as for student election, being student president isn't a Rachel thing, yes she's captain of all the clubs she's in but she would never be student president of the school that bullied her every day.
