A/N: yes, yet another update. This time, it's on both the inspiration for this story's version of Venom and some minor changes I need to make.

The Versions of Venom he's based on aren't specifically for personality. But, for also in regards to powers and even physical appearance to an extent (but much later on).

The base inspiration of the story's version of Venom is the 2018 one, obviously.

Next has to do with when the events of the Venom story will take place in the MCU. Well, at first it was going to be a couple of Months after. And the Reader was going to at least 2 years older than Peter was. However, I thankfully I did some rechecking. And here's the thing:

Since Peter in the MCU  was born in August 10th, 2001 and he was at the age of 15 or 16 around the time of Civil War (which happened in 2016), it seemed very likely that he was around the age of 11 or 12 during the Chitauri Invasion. So making the reader 2 years older than he was while doing the story only a couple of months after the first Avengers would be off since you would only be 14 or so at that point. 

So I'll do it like this, The Events of Venom will take place sometime during 2015 (The main events of the film after the  6 month timeskip) rather than simply 2012. You'll be around 21 to 22 years of age during that time. 

(Since I'm pretty sure you have to be around 18 or higher to get a job as an investigative journalist).

I'll also age up Gwen to around this as well so this doesn't make things odd. Plus, it'll make sense why she isn't seen in the same Highschool as peter and not a love interest of his.

(Besides, The MCU seemed fine aging down Aunt May so aging up Gwen to 20 years won't hurt).

It still gives you enough time to do your own kind of stuff afterward and even develop relationships (non-romantic with peter obviously) and you get to know each other before the events of Infinity War.
