Abandon By Moonlight

Gripping each others hands, the two twin boys looked up at their mother and father as they walked down the path. Both were not sure where they were going as they walked deeper into the darkness of the forest.

"Mother," said the twin called Rai, "Where are we going? Is it the place promised where we will never worry about food again?" he asked softly, innocently.

Van frowned a bit as they didn't answer, "Father," he said softly, "Are we going to the promise land, will Notch be waiting for us there?"

The twins frowned in unison as their parents gave them sad looks. They looked at each other as they walked into the woods with mother and father. The trees seemed eerie and alive as they walked down the unfamiliar path.

The twins knew something was not right, that much was obvious. Placing two and two together, the way they were promised so much that seemed so impossible. They knew mother had grown tired of them, and was going to leave them alone.

And here they were all alone in the forest, like Hansel and Gretel. Left by their parents, mother always said she never wanted them when she married their father. Yet she ran to protect them is what father always told her. Mother never said anything to that, getting a vague look.

Rai and Vanitas walked down the path, gripping each others hands. There was no reason not to, it meant they wouldn't lose each other in the darkness. The twins proceeded down the odd and different path, both were not sure if this was the way home.

The wind blew in the old tree branches, sending cold shivers through the twins as they walked closer to each other. They only have each other after all. Van gripped the bottle in his hands as they had captured some of the 'moon's light' in it to light the way.

"There it is." Van said as he stared in awe at the house, the witches house.

Rai looked at his twin, "We kill her, just like that nice man said, and we get to go home." he smiled warmly.

Along the way back, a man with white eyes told them if they killed the witch then they would get to go home to their father. Both twins wanted to go home to a father who didn't sneer at them, and the nice man promised that.

All for the price that they kill the witch and split the soul.

Seven pieces of Original Sin.

"Mother praise me!" Rai giggled as he watched at the flames burn the corpse of the witch, "I have thrown the witch in the stove!"

Van giggled also, "Father praise me, for I have killed her henchmen!" looking at the bleeding body of the man.

Blood stained their hands as they smirked gripping hands again, mother and father should have known better then to leave them alone.

Their eyes shined as they watched the 'witches' corpse burn, the flames rising as her screams died down. A fitting punishment for her crimes.

"Father should be proud!" Van grinned at his twin as he nodded, they killed the 'witch' as they were asked.

They were quiet as they watched the flames, "Is that the sound of birds? No it's just the forest's cry."

Rai nodded, "Is that the moonlight I see? No it's just the flames burning."

"As the women we call mother burns in the fireplace, leaving behind her orginal sin." Van nodded with his twin looking at the soul in their hands. The nice man said they split it into seven pieces, they could go home.

So that is what they did, the split the original sin into seven fragments.

"Lust, the fixed broken heart, for which we felt for her betrayal and getting revenge."

"Gluttony, the food, for which was denied to us with false promises if we obeyed."

"Pride, the dragon, for which was meant to scare us into being good children."

"Envy, the wither, for which happened to our feelings as we watched her burn."

"Sloth, the bed, for which she stayed in more often then not rather then take care of us."

"Greed, the gold, for which we had none of, but mother taunted us with hers."

"and Wrath, the brine, for which is our truth the blood we have flowing in us forevermore."

The twins looked at the sins in their hands, horrible things left by the 'witch'. Small fragments they fled into the world. For which the twins hoped would cleans these fragments, or at least watch the world burn by their hand.

So yeah this was an Idea I had based on Vocaloid Evillious Chronicles and a friend's book on the Seven Deadly Sins.

What do you think?
