Chapter 1
-Levi's POV-
"Tch..." I groaned as I stepped out of my limousine. People were crowding me. Even my bodyguards had to push them back and squeeze me in the middle of them. What could I say, a famous ice skater like me, heading into the Olympics was a big deal. Not that I would like anyone crowding me or asking for my autograph, but otherwise-a big deal.
"You alright back there, Levi?" A tall, muscular man looked back at me with worried eyes.
"Like hell I am..." I sarcastically retorted, glaring at him.
"S-Sorry, sir!" He apologized frantically, looking at me, then at the crowd.
"Tch, just get me out of here." I ordered. Geez, people these days...can't get a single job done.
The rest of the way into the main building where the Olympics itself would take place was quite a while on. Despite taking the short cuts, it was still a good walk-a good 15 minutes. Finally reaching the building, crowds were waiting, cheering my name again.
"Levi!" Someone squealed at me, "Can I have your autograph?"
"Levi, I love you!!" Someone to my right called out.
"Levi, give me a kiss!" Screamed someone behind me.
Ugh, fans, the whatnot, the camera, the spotlight was all annoying. Something not needed for the Olympics...unless you really wanted it. For me, it was the complete opposite. My job here was to get the thing done, and get out. My daily pay would be even more than what I'd expect, and I'd get a million donations. What could be better? Just the fans, the camera, and all that stuff was annoying.
I quickly stepped in through the grand doors of the ice ring. The inside revealed more than a million bleachers, along with another million people sitting in them. Cheers, applause, screams, filled my ears. The ice ring glittered with the freshly polished ice. It beckoned towards me, tempting me to skate on it. I heard the announcer, with his booming voice, announce to the crowds, "Here he is..the famed ice skating champion...LEVI ACKERMAN!!" A loud applause, cheers, and screams erupted from the stands. A loud chant rang in my ears, "LEVI LEVI LEVI!" I smirked slightly at it, not that I was full of myself, but just because it was funny how many people loved me.
It was going to be at least a few hours before my skate, but since it was prep time for me, I grabbed my skates out of the bag lying next to me. Thinking about the technique of skating, I grabbed the rough laces. I pulled on them roughly, tightening the skate around my feet. The rope brushed my skin with it's rough texture, making sure to knot them tightly. Finally, I got both feet on and stepped out into the ring, just in time to see another young girl step out into the ring. "MIKASA ACKERMAN!" I heard the announcement from above. For a second, everything in the world stood still. I couldn't hear the cheers, or the applause, or the deafening screams from the stands. Mikasa Ackerman?
