~Flashback~

---It had been 2 years after his defeat to Aiga, Phi had went to Evel Oxford who had big news regarding a new evolution of Beyblades---

Phi: You wanted to see me?

Evel: I have big news for you, Phi.

Phi: What is it?

Evel: There has been recent news of a new gen of Beyblades created by Valt Aoi, Sparking Beys he called them.

Phi: Sparking Beys? Explain.

Evel: Sparking Beys are similar to that of GT Beys but they're slightly different. There are 3 different parts to the layer: A Chip, a Ring and a Chassis. Some chassis are compatible with a disk and some arent.

*Phi looked at all the different beys that were apart of the Sparking Layer System: Valkyrie, Ragnaruk, Satan, Fafnir, Spriggan, Longinus, Etc, all of them were unique in their own way. Phi looked up from the tablet and stared Evel in his very sleepy eyes*

Phi: Evel with your expertise, i want to create a Sparking Bey of my own.

Evel: Phi...

Phi: I want to evolve my Dead Phoenix to even greater heights.

*Evel nodded and smiled*

Evel: Alright, lets get to work.

*Phi sat down at the table and pulled up the beys he used over the years, Revive Phoenix and Dead Phoenix, the bey he had made using a fragment of his brothers bey: Dead Hades.*

Phi: So Sparking Beys have a ring, chip and chassis.. from the looks of things, they seem to be a lot heavier than the average bey so thats interesting.

*Phi fused the images of both his beys together and he clicked on "Sparking Evo" and the design of his new Phoenix came up. Phi smiled as he finally had a design for his new bey. He went to work on the Layer and Armor of his bey*

Phi: This will be the ultimate defense type bey in the entire world, i'll make sure of it.

*After about 20 minutes making the ring and adding details to the Ring and Chip, He went to work on the Chassis which he planned to have rubber on it for absorbing impacts*

Phi: It's almost done, my new and ultimate Phoenix!

*After about 10 minutes of working, the new Phoenix was finally completed*

Phi: It's done, the perfect bey ever.. Eternal Phoenix!!

*Phi began to glow with a golden aura as his new Phoenix glowed within his hand, Phi was very proud of his new creation*

~End Of Flashback~

*The sun began to set over the ocean as the 2 bladers stared at each other, Phi was still stunned by the power that Adeona possessed*

Phi: What was that light just now? Did i imagine that or was that legit?!

*Athena looks up at Phi and grins, her aura glowing around her*

Athena: You ready Phi?! I'm gonna smoke you this next round!

*Phi looks at her surprised and smiled with confidence, his own aura glowing too*

Phi: I like your confidence but let's see how long you can keep it up.

*Both bladers take their position*

3 2 1 GO SHOOT!!!

*Both beys land in the stadium, Phoenix takes the center almost immediately as Adeona races up the stadium at top speed*

Phi: Now bring it on, show me what you can do!

*Adeona hammers at Phoenix with incredible speed and power, it's power not decreasing*

Athena: Keep going Adeona, blow it away!

*Adeona deals another major attack as Phoenixs armor goes flying into the air and out of the stadium*

Athena: Now you won't be able to use your Eternal Armor Press!

Phi: I had a feeling you would do that so i have another plan.

*Phoenix races up the stadium as it tilted on the rubber of its Friction Driver*

Phi: Phoenix Break now!!

*Phoenix speeds up as flames trailed behind it, the attack sends Adeona flying into the air and lands on the upper deck*

Athena: Whew!

Phi: It survived?! Looks like Adeona is a lot more versatile than i thought..

*Adeona hits the rim of the upper deck and begins to gain incredible speed*

Phi: That's fast!

*Adeona was getting even faster, it jumps off the deck and races straight towards Phoenix as fast as it could*

Athena: Send them flying!!

Phi: Scorch them to ashes!!

*Both beys clashed and Adeonas wings began to move as it glowed a golden light. Athena screams out as a wave of her aura began to rise and tower above her. Adeona pushed Phoenix back and causes it to burst, Phi was shocked as the pieces of his bey fell to his feet, even Athena herself was a bit surprised*

Athena: I-I did it.. i actually burst Phoenix!

*Phi smiled as he put his bey back together, he turns toward Athena again who was super happy that she had won*

Phi: Not bad, not bad at all. You've gotten a lot better since we last faced off.

Athena: Same for you! I want one more battle!

*Phi nods and holds up his Phoenix once more, it glowing a golden aura*

Phi: Alright, if you insist.

*Both bladers take positions once more*

3 2 1 GO SHOOT!!!

*Both beys land in the stadium and this time, Phoenix didnt take the center and instead it was going on the attack*

Athena: It's attacking this time?!!

*Phoenix grinds against the rubber of its Friction Driver and it speeds up towards Adeona*

Athena: Get out of there Adeona!!

Phi: It's no use!

*Phoenix collides into Adeona and blows it back and it slams into the wall*

Athena: Tch...

*Phoenix then pins it to the center and lays into it with attack after attack, Adeona tilts on the rubber on its own driver and gets away quickly*

Athena: Heh, This match belongs to us as well!!

*Adeona races up to the upper deck and into the speed cradle and began to gain speed*

Phi: Take them out, Phoenix!!

*Adeona jumps out of the speed cradle and back on to the deck as it flies off, however Phoenix was coming in for an attack from underneath!*

Athena: Wait what?!

Phi: Phoenix Upper!!!

*Phoenix climbs the slope of the stadium and flies into the air towards Adeona as the metal parts of its Armor glowed, Phoenix clashes into Adeona and burst it with no effort at all*

Athena: I-Impossible...

*The pieces of Adeona land at Athenas feet as Athena stared down at them in shock, Phi picks up his bey and turned and walked away. As he walked, he called after her*

Phi: You've got excellent skill and power but there is something you're missing.

*Athena picked up the pieces of her bey as she stared after Phi a little surprised*

---Later That Night---

*Athena had returned to Japan and she went to the Sparking Arena for training and she saw a familiar face, it was Delta Akane*

Athena: Delta?!

*Delta looks back and saw Athena running towards him, he smiles and turned towards her*

Delta: Athena! I heard you had returned but i had to see it to believe it.

*Athena smiles and laughs*

Athena: Yeah, i almost can't even believe it either.

*Delta holds up his Bey: Death Diabolos but this time it was slightly different: it had a purple 1B Chassis and a black Wave as its new driver*

Athena: Well it looks Adeona isn't the only one who's gotten some new upgrades.

*Delta smiled and pulled out his Launcher and got ready to battle, Athena did the same as her bey began to glow with a white aura*

3 2 1 GO SHOOT!!!

*Both beys land in the stadium and Diabolos took the center almost immediately*

Athena: Its much slower than it was before.. it must be that Wave driver, because of its unique shape and tall height its much slower compared..

Delta: Now bring it on! Show me how much you've improved!!

*Adeona rushes in for the attack, it then begins to attack Diabolos with a very fast barrage attack but Diabolos manages to withstand it all*

Athena: Keep going Adeona!! Now, Guardian Strike!!

*Adeona attacks but it doesnt even affect Diabolos in the slightest*

Athena: Huh?! Its not budging at all! Tch.. keep going!!

*Adeona unleashes a whole flurry of attacks at Diabolos but it survived them all! Diabolos tilts on its Wave driver and began to speed up*

Delta: Now go! Diabolos!!

*Diabolos travels up to the upper deck and began to gain speed*

Delta: Diabolos!!

*Diabolos jumps off the Upper Deck and dove straight towards Adeona*

Delta: Crush them with Death Slash!

*Diabolos slams into Adeona and burst it instantly, Athena gasped in shock as its parts flew past her and fell to the floor behind her with a loud clang*

Athena: I-Incredible..!

*Athena fell to her knees as Delta stood over her*

Athena: Why.. Why can't i win..?

*Athena began to get incredibly frustrated as her flare began to glow intensely*
