*the battle began and Lucifer was wasting no time, it took Wyvern and pushed it into the wall*

Wakiya: Wait no! Wyvern hold on!!

Lane: Crush it! Flare Press!!

*Wyvern burst, therefore Wakiya lost the match*

Wakiya: What?!?

Referee: Flare Lucifer with a burst finish! Lane Valhalla moves on to the semi-finals!

*Lane roared victoriously as his flare grew even more. Black flames began merging with the purple. The thing Athena had feared was finally happening: The dark flare Lane possessed was starting to destroy him*

*it would be a minute before Valt and Shu's match so Athena went and found Lane, who was walking through the halls doing nothing*

Athena: Lane!

*Lane stopped and looked back at her*

Athena: Your flare is starting to break you and yet you continue to push yourself past your limit!

Lane: Not this shit again..

Athena: When does it end Lane?! All you ever care about is power, power and more power! You aren't some sort of god! You are incredibly selfish and cruel more than anything!!

*Lane snapped! He pushed Athena into the wall and backhanded her across the face as she fell back. Athenas nose began bleeding but she didn't give a damn as she got up and endured it*

Athena: And that proves my point.. You hurt people who don't deserve to be hurt. You've taken everything from me and the bladers you battled, especially me, You insult me, you assault me and throw me aside like I don't matter!! One day, you're gonna regret the things you've done and I hope im there to see the look on your face when that happens..

*Lane tightened his grip on Athenas collar*

Lane: And why would I regret anything? You mean nothing to me because you are nothing! If we fight in the finals then I will certainly take EVERYTHING from you! I will shatter Adeona to pieces, as well as your confidence and your will to fight!! And you have the audacity to call me selfish when we both know that you stole the spotlight in everything you did while I had to go without! Well now the roles have been reversed and now I outshine YOU!! How does it feel!?

Athena: I was never in it for the spotlight.. Its not my fault i was good at everything I did and had stellar natural talent!

Lane: There is no such thing as "Natural Talent"!

*he releases her and walks away, Athena wiped away the blood and headed to the arena for the 4th match which had already started. The score was 0-1, Shu had gotten an Over-Finish in the first battle and there had been several draws since then*

Valt: Not bad Shu, you definitely have gotten stronger!

Shu: You're not doing so bad either.

Referee: Ninth Battle!

*Shu changed Spriggan into Left Defense Mode as the 2 took their positions*

Referee: Ready Set!

3 2 1 GO SHOOT!!!

*both beys land and hit the walls and collide in a fierce midair clash* 

Valt: Valkyrie!!

Shu: Spriggan!!

*streaks of blue and red flash across as both were blown back. Valkyrie then came in for a head on collision*

Valt: Attack! Brave Sword!!

Shu: Not so fast!! World Spin!!

*Spriggans free spinning chassis repels the attack! Now Spriggan was now going on the offensive as it prepared a devastating blow*

Shu: Crush them with World Slash!!

*Valkyrie was sent flying up and landed on the upper deck*

Shu: It survived?!

Valt: Alright partner!! Lets show him what we've got!! Awaken!!

*The Evolution' driver began to wear down as Valkyrie began to pick up incredible speed*

Shu: Could that be-?!

Valt: Valkyrie!!

Shu: Alright! Go Spriggan, let em have it!!

*Valkyrie dashed off the upper deck and accelerated towards Spriggan*

Valt: Brave Flash!!

Shu: Counter Break!!

*Valkyrie and Spriggan clashed hard and get blown into the air and Spriggan burst*

Shu: What?!

Valt: Yes!!

Referee: Brave Valkyrie wins with a burst finish! Valt Aoi wins and moves on to the Semi-Finals!!

Shu: Well you beat me again.

Valt: You didnt do too bad either. Spriggan is definitely a lot stronger than I remember.

*the 2 smiled and shook hands out of sportsmanship*

Valt: I'll be looking forward to the next time we battle.

Shu: Name the place and i'll be there.

*it was to pack it in for the day and everyone was starting to leave. Athena left the arena and found Hikaru and Hyuga waiting for her*

Athena: Oh hey guys. I hear you guys got new beys.

Hyuga: Yeah this is Hyperion Burn!

Hikaru: and this is Helios Volcano!

*Athena was a bit in awe, the new beys looked so much cooler in person. The brothers lead her to the Bombers where she is introduced to Chuck, Gun and Raika. The 3 stand in front of a stadium*

Raika: Ready Set!

3 2 1 GO SHOOT!!

*Hyperion and Helios landed in the stadium. Adeona comes in for an attack on Helios*

Athena: Now Go!

*Adeonas attack causes Helios' disk to move forward and then...*

Hikaru: Limit Break: Volcano!!

*the ring on Helios rotated rapidly which blew Adeona away*

Athena: Wait what the-

*Hyperion then clashed with Adeona as its disk moved too*

Hyuga: Limit Break: Burn!!!

*4 blades extend from Hyperion and Adeona gets blown out*

*Athena was shocked at the power the Limit Break System Beys had. She picked up her bey and ran out*

~Athena didn't go straight home. Instead she went to the beach and sat alone. All the memories of her and Lanes childhood were coming back~

*Flashback begins*

~a young Athena and Lane were playing with each other in the flowery meadow behind their mansion. The 2 kids giggled, laughed and smiled as they continued their fierce game of tag. Eventually they got very tired so they layed down to rest~

Young Athena: Hey Lane?

Young Lane: Whats up?

Young Athena: Lets make a promise. That we'll never ever leave each other. I want to be able to play with you for all eternity!

*Lane simply smiled and tackled her in a hug causing the 2 to giggle even more*

Young Lane: I promise. 

~the 2 happy kids got up and went to get washed up. The 2 were inseparable... Or at least so they thought.~

*Flashback Ends*

Athena: He broke it.. He broke our promise..
