The cloaked, now grown duo walked through the open gates to their origin after all these years. Immediately something was off. They glanced to each other, then drew their swords.
"Hello?" Jesse called suspiciously.
"It's... empty." Petra stated, looking into the dusty house that had been Stampy's residence. "There's no one here."
"WHERE IS EVERYONE?!" Jesse yelled at the top of his lungs, panic quickly rising. They had stopped by the remains of Champion City, left as they had been once the Admin brought it down. The team sprinted down the Main Street, looking for any signs of life, signs of familiarity. They got to the beacon that the town was named for, still rainbow and shining around infinity as if there was no ghost town around. They looked up at the tower left by the Admin Romeo. They had no need to speak as they climbed the perfect staircase up.
"Anyone here?" Petra called when they reached the top. It was quiet for a moment, and then they heard a small shift. "Careful," Jesse warned, catching her hand with a worried expression. The redhead smiled, a caring glint in her eyes. "I will." They poked their heads up, and gasped. Jesse nearly screamed. In front of them, the citizens of Beacontown were frozen, timeless, as if turned to stone.
