Susie frowned as she walked out of school, not because her parents weren't here to pick her up, but because her brother was.

Susie had been told Michael was a bad influence and to stay away, even though they were related.

But he smiled at her softly, and said 'it's ok, mum and dad asked me to pick you up.'

The last time Michael was at the school to pick Susie up, he'd taken her away. They'd stayed with Michael and his girlfriend until a lovely policeman came and brought Susie back home.

Michael was nicer than mummy and daddy; she'd felt more at home with him that her parents.

which was weird, because she barely ever saw him.

But at the end we find out Michael and his gf are Susie's parents and she was adopted by Michele's parents bc michael and his gf weren't old enough or whatever to look after her
