The Reader is capable of using the Astro Switches with out the need of a fourzedriver and henshining, but he does need the adapter belt on his waist and the arm and leg bands that allow the Modules to form on him.

One day when Ghoulia Yelps decided to walk home she was ambushed by a couple of humans. Before they can do anything serious, a voice sounded out, "ELEK, ON". Suddenly one of the humans lit up like a Christmas tree before falling to the ground burnt and smoking, behind him was a teen whose hair was spikey and Yellow, almost looking like Lightning bolts, in his right hand was a sword like rod with a plug, which connected to his arm. On his waist was some form of belt. The 'electric elemental' (the reader in ELEK states) told the remaining humans to leave. For a second the human thugs looked like they were gonna attack, that was before Billy the Rod began sparking. They all quickly ran away. The reader then turns the ELEK switch off, showing he was human, goes over to Ghoulia and helps her up. He tells her to be more careful and that they're friends now so He'll be watching her back from now on, before do the signature Fourze hand shake with her, leaving her very confused. He tells her bye before jogging away.

The next day at the Maul, Ghoulia tells the Ghouls, as well as the Mansters, being Clawd, Dueces, and Gil, about the events from yesterday. Overall they weren't sure what to make of the story, it sounded fake and unusual, but Ghoulia wouldn't lie about such a thing. Cleo asked Ghoulia if she was sure it was a human that helped her and not a shapeshifter, to which Ghoulia pointed out how he was using the belt to suddenly unchange from the electrical form he was in, and how it said ,'ELEK, OFF', meaning that his electrical form was not his true one. Draculaura points out how friendly the Reader was by how Ghoulia told the story, and suggests that they try to find him and see who he is, instantly Frankie agrees to the idea, while Clawdeen wasnt sure if that was a good idea.

Later when the Ghouls got to Monster High, they asked for the help from Spectra, as they knew she would never turn down a story like this, Normie boy is superhero and friend to monsters, that'd be a #1 scoop for sure. They begin researching about incidents like what Ghoulia went through and found out that it's happened before, plenty of times and not just for monsters, this guy was helping humans and monsters alike. Suddenly Spectra got a alert from a post she put up for any sightings of the Reader, one in New Salem park. When they arrived they witnessed the Reader, with a rocket attached to his right arm, a shield that looked like a NASA shuttle on his left arm, and a chainsaw on his right leg, fighting somekind of swan like monster with pearl like jewels on its body in the shape of the Constellation Cygnus, the swan. Off to the side was a normie girl whose body was covered in what looked like cobwebs. The Swan like monster then targeted a blast at the ghouls, showing a very great dislike for monsters, confusing the ghouls, but the Reader quickly flew in front of the blast, and pulled the lever on the side of his belt. 'ROCKET! SHIELD! CHAINSAW! LIMIT BREAK!', the blast was suddenly absorbed the blast while the reader began spinning like a buzzsaw using the rocket module, all the absorbed energy being released from the saw module. The reader then destroyed the Cyngus Zodiart, leading to the girl off to the side waking up. The girl snarled in anger before attempting to rush the ghouls, only to be punched in the face by the reader, being knocked out. The reader proceeded to ask if the ghouls were alright. However the ghouls were still trying to to piece together what they just saw. The reader then began to wave his hand in front of all their faces and other such things to snap them out of their faces. Thankfully they snapped out of it before he tried anything to weird. Clawdeen immediately demanded that the reader tell them what just happened. The reader made a weirded out face from how aggressively Clawdeen asked but made a smile and told her anyway. He proceeded to explain how the girl was Vanessa Anderson, a anti-monster supporter who had somehow come across a Zodiart switch, a device that turns whoever's uses it into a alien monster based on a Constellation, and she was planning on targeting monster high, but he stopped her. Clawdeen was very skeptical about that answer, but he just seemed so optimistic, that she felt like trusting him. The reader was about to say something, but music suddenly started play, 'Switch on!', and the reader quickly pulled out his phone and answered the call. The reader quickly yelled out in shock and almost ran, but stopped himself and asked the ghouls which way Monster High was. Cleo asked why he needed to know, the Reader quickly told her that it was an emergency, which didn't properly answer her question. Ghoulia, who could only speak in moans, asked him by what the emergency was. Somehow the Reader completely understood her and told them that a Forced Last-One Zodiart was attacking Monster High. The reader pressed down the rocket switch, forming the rocket module, and then wrapped his other arm around Ghoulia, asking her to point him in the right direction before blasting off into the air. The Ghouls were immediate in their reactions and chased after them, scared for Ghoulia's safety. When the Reader and Ghoulia arrived at monster high, which had after school activities, they saw three Cat Constellation Zodiart attacking students on a mindless rampage. One was Orange, and the other two were black and white, but were mirrored. The Reader quickly flew in front of one of them to stop it from attacking Twyla, taking a powerful hit from plasma claws. He completely ignored his injury and pain, and proceeded to push the orange one away from Twyla. The other two then attacked the Reader, apparently attempting to protect the orange one, who seemed to hold the roll of leader of the three. The Reader was heavily injured and thrown towards the crowd that had formed to watch. Seeing how the Zodiarts would now attack the crowd, the reader swapped out the rocket switch with the ELEK switch and entered ELEK state, he also turned on the Water, Winch, and Freeze Switch.  He then ran at them just as the Ghouls arrived.  The reader decided to finish the fight quickly and used a limit break. The Water and Freeze module froze the ground and made the Zodiarts wet and cold while winch module wrapped around the three and pulled them together while Billy The Rod shot lightning down from the sky striking them down. What remained was three small switches that looked like they were wrapped in cob webs. He picked one up and unclicked it, causing it to shatter and a small black orb to expand from it which an unconscious orange werecat girl fell out of and landed in the readers arms. The reader gently placed the Werecat on the ground and proceeded to unclick the other two, which lead to the reader catching two other female werecats, twins in fact, and doing the same he had done with the first werecat. Frankie came up to him just before he collapsed from exhaustion and pain, but he still stayed conscious. He swapped the Winch switch with the Medical switch, and used it, only healing a few injures.
