Once upon a time. . .
I know, I know, it's cliche. It's not my fault. I wouldn't have chosen that, if I had choice. Anyway, this story isn't a fairy tale. It's a true story. This is the story of me, Azalea, a gorgeous princess.
I wouldn't say gorgeous. . .
Oh, hush. You wouldn't know gorgeous if it hit you in the face.
Anyway, there's also an enchantress, a knight-
The best knight in existence, if I may be so bold.
You may not! Stop interrupting! True love, a curse, and other such cliches.
(A/N: that would be the bio, if I actually make this story.)
When I was little, my parents decided to throw a party for my golden birthday. It was my 6th birthday, so I was spoiled, bratty, and childish.
My parents decided to invite all the kingdoms. The dragons, fairies, dwarves, chimearas, and most of the other kingdoms rsvp'ed and arranged for their queens, princes and princesses to come.
I wasn't really excited, until I realized they would all be bringing me presents.
On the day of the party, my parents and I stood at the door and greeted the guests. I would attempt to grab the presents, but my parents would place them on the table behind them, that was far taller than I was. I got more furious and grabby the more times this happened.
By the time the final guest arrived, a short, haggered old woman, I was frantic to hold just one present. I saw she was carrying a box, so I ripped it from her hands, paying no heed to my parent's cries of, "AZALEA!"
I ripped it open to find a single twig, dead, old and brittle. I stared at it, then at the woman.
She glared at me. "That was the last of its kind. It was a Moonbloom, that can't survive in bright light."
I grimaced at her. "Why would I want some crummy dead twig?"
She growled in anger. "How. Dare. You."
She grew in size, until she was a giant beast. I didn't know at the time, but she was the oldest in the chimeara kingdom.
Her huge lion head glared down at me.
"You are an insufferable child. I think your outsides should match your insides."
The snake at the end of her tail opened its mouth, and I was bathed in bright light. When the light dissapated and my eyes readjusted, I had collapsed onto all fours. I tried to stand, but felt my legs give out. I whimpered and started to cry. "Mommy!" I called, and reached out to her with my-
WHAT WERE THESE THINGS?!?!
I shrieked. "MOMMY!" She pointed towards a mirror, and I looked into it. What I saw horrified me into complete and utter silence. My long flowing brown curls were gone, replaced with a ruff of white feathers. My face was covered in short fur. My bright blue eyes were still there, but the pupils had changed to slits. My arms had changed into long and feathery black wings. My legs had been replaced with horse hindquarters. I now had tails at the base of my spine, large fluffy wolf tails. All of the fur was the same caramel my skin had been.
