Red Wrists, Blue Necks
A/N: Here's an excerpt from one of my WIP books!
The heat of the sun showers my face accompanied by its entrancing rays of light. It slowly begins to sink beyond the horizon, our time with the sun has ended now someone else besides me gets to bathe in its ambience. I hear the sounds of the city faintly, barely audible but definitely distinct. I feel my body slowly tipping forward but I'm not moving "the feeling is just an illusion".
The sounds of the city still sound distant as if it's out of focus. A single sound is distinct to my ears... voices. No not the voices I hear "those aren't mine..." The voices are the most distinct but still out of focus sounds.
I look down from over the edge and see police officers and their cars "Stay there we'll come up and get you!"
"The other voices I guess is them" my mind compels my body to lean forward and submit itself to gravity. Only one barrier is stopping me. My conscience... "no one else. No one else is here to stop me. No. One. Alone"
