Inspired by this song for so many reasons...  not to mention the intro scenes from Borderlands 2 are amazing as well as a canvas for the music.

The story idea is a simple one.   The hero arrives in town (I'm getting a Western feel, although I think you could do the sci-fi styled "wild" planet like they do in Borderlands 2 as well).  Hero gets less than friendly welcome.  the hero becomes the villain.

as I'm seeing the story in my head, the hero isn't the main character, it's told from someone else's POV who will be pivotal to the hero's downfall.

So much room to work in here.  Hell the Hero could save everyone in the end if you wanted anyways.
