Friendship is an important thing to Izuku Midoryia.

After growing up with no friends, he's learned to appreciate what little he could, in order to survive.

Now, though, he has all the friends he could ever dream of. He no longer needs to survive off little acts of kindness, when he has it all at the tip of his fingers.

Which is why he doesn't take kindly to outsiders trying to take his friends.
