Unfinished story 2
Two Parts of the Force
It was that strange time of the year when the Force felt different. Kanan normally tried to avoid Jedi lessons more when it got closer to the festival of spirits. However, he couldn't avoid teaching Ezra about the other side of the Force forever, and they had just gotten back to training at that. He also didn't want Maul to beat him to it.
"You planed a lesson for today?" Hera asked Kanan.
"I did. It's time I told him about that part of the Force. Especially after everything he's been through." Kanan replied.
"Your nervous." She remakes.
"I never really learned much about this myself. All I know is the legends from the temple. My master never got that far with my training." He replied.
"You think he's going to try and reach out to them?"
"I don't know what he'll do. At one point I would have said no, but lately I'm not sure."
"Kanan, that was when there was still a possibility they were still alive. Now he's lost them again as well as Ahsoka."
"That's who I'm more worried about him reaching out to. We don't know what happened to her. We just felt her presence disappear. There was no pain or anything. Just an empty space. Ahsoka might not want us to know what happened so she cut us off before whatever happened to her happened." Kanan said.
"So you're not worried about him seeing his parents again?" Hera asked.
"If Ezra can see them, no. Actually if he can then there's others I'd like him to meet." Kanan answered.
"See who?" Ezra asked now standing in the hallway.
"Ezra, I was just about to go get you for some training." Kanan said.
"We're training today? But we never train the day before spirit day. You always give me a break the week of the festival of spirits." Ezra says.
"Because I wasn't sure how to teach you about the way Jedi celebrated it. I never got to spend one with my master, but I haven't even told you the story behind it." Kanan answers.
"What's to know? It's supposed to be the day that the dead come back to visit the living. At least that's why they celebrated on Lothal." Ezra replied. "Not that I believe in stuff like that."
"Actually it's only time of year when the Cosmic Force and Living Force crossover allowing force users on both to interact with each other. For Jedi with a strong connection to the Living Force like you it meant that they might be able to freely cross between the two without worrying about getting trapped on the opposite side." Kanan explained.
"What's that suppose to mean?" The boy asked.
"It means you might be able to see those who have been lost, like your parents." Hera says.
"What?" Ezra asked confused. "I could see them again?"
"It's possible and I'm not really sure how to do it. It's a small possibility though." Kanan explained.
"How does it work?" The Padawan asked.
"Ezra it can be dangerous to do if you can't." The Jedi replied.
"Wasn't a few methods tested over the years?" Hera asked.
"Of course they were. My master herself was one it was tested on. Master Yoda has been the only one that's tried it during a different time of year, however there were others before them." Kanan explained.

This was supposed to be my birthday and Halloween special. It plays on the Day of the Dead idea that the spirits can visit their loved ones once a year. Kanan takes Ezra to see his parents and meet other Jedi. Ezra actually gets to meet Depa and her sister.
