Summary - In 1958, while segregation is no longer law... sadly, racism still exist and interracial relationships are still banned as the black people suffers while the white people gets all the privileges.

So, when a white, 23-year-old wealthy girl from Britain named Dorothy Evans, the middle child of the three Evans sisters and arranged to marry James Blackwood, a wealthy white British businessman, moved to America for their wedding, everything changes when she meets a handsome black lower-class man named George Freeman.
