Pestering Puppet

"Heeey Clocky!"

Clockwork let a small smile take over her features as she felt Toby's arms wrap around her, she turned her head slightly to the side to have her cheek met by a pair of lips.

"Wanna do something?" He whispered in her ear, she could basically hear the teasing smirk that was already plastered on his face.

"Sure." She replied, turning to face him, "what do you have planned?"

"Hmm I don't know, why don't we do a bit of snooping?" He asked, wiggling his eyebrows.

Clocky sighed, disliking that idea. If he hadn't been offering that idea every few days and if he hadnt been proposing to do some pranks every few seconds then perhaps she would be a bit more open to them. But thanks to him going in the opposite direction, she in turn had a negative reaction. She just wished that for once he could do something romantic, maybe take her out to break into some art gallery at the dead of night? Or maybe take her out for a fancy dinner? She should have known that she wouldn't get that from such a hyperactive proxy.

"Why... Why don't we do something else instead?" She suggested, so badly wanting him to go with it.

"Aww but nothing is greater than finding some hidden secrets about our house mates!" Exclaimed Toby letting Clocky grimace in tone. His face dropped slightly, seeing her disappointment, "hey, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, nothing." She said quietly, brushing it aside, some days I feel like I'm your mother, she thought.

"Clocky?"

"I uh, I just remembered I have to do something." She said, putting on a smile, "sorry Tobes, got to go!"

She got up and walked off, feeling slightly guilty as she left behind a very upset Toby. She could feel his gaze following her as she left, his lips turned downwards and his eyes looking slightly like a puppy's during this particular moment.

He wanted to spend time with her, that's all.

~~~~~~
Bree meekly followed Cyn, her breathing shaky as she tried to calm herself. She tugged on her yellow striped, her hands shaking as more fear enveloped her. She just wanted to get home, that's all. She doesn't want to be here and she can't come up with any reason for why she was here in the first place. Is this still part of the game simulation? Or is this her new found reality? Either way she just prayed that she'll be out of it soon enough.
Cyn continued to walk, not caring in the slightest about the newbie behind her. The bespectacled girl was starting to annoy her, the fact that Cyn was now forced to somewhat babysit her did nothing to help Bree get into her good books.
They made a turn, Bree struggling to keep up with the girl's longer strides, Cyn's frown deepening as she saw the hallway of doors in front of them. Her frown only deepened even more turning into a near scowl as she made a beeline to the crimson red door, lifting up a fist as she knocked harshly on it- wanting to have her job over and done with.
Some groans of frustration and curse words could be heard from the other side of the door. Sounds of things crashing into one another thrown into the mix before the door opened, revealing the tired face of Jeffrey. Looking as if he was so done with absolutely everything in his life.
"Have you even been doing your job?" Demanded Cyn, eyebrow raised in question. He just looked blankly at her, not seeing the red head that was fidgeting behind her.
"Some of it." He said, which was code for none of it. "What do you want?"
"Slendy has given us a new job." Responded Cyn in a rather cool fashion. She crossed her arms, looking at Bree out of the corner in her eye, "you're suppose to see how good the newbie is and I'm doing the background check."
"What newbie? Neon?"
"No." Cyn, gestured over to the girl that was behind her, moving slightly so that Jeff could see her, "this one. She came through the eight pages game and Slendy thinks she's gonna be useful so just hurry up and check on her."
"Someone's impatient," he observed, leaving his room before slamming the door shut behind him, "and why the fuck do I have to train her?"
"Because you broke the fucking TV, now shut up and deal with it." Snapped Cyn, already walking away from the pair.
"I broke nothing. Why so whiney lately? Is it your time of the month now princess?" Called out Jeff, doing well on annoying her even more.
"Fuck off Jeffrey!" She spoke up, before leaving the area.
~~~

Minutes ticked by, Cyn trying her best to find everything she could on what may be the new addition of the family.

She looked through the papers that she had in her hand, scanning over the information about this Bree that has now joined them. This was more of Masky's job then anything really, so it didn't entirely make sense that Slendy made her do this sort of thing. But ten again she did help break a TV so it would make a little sense for why she's doing this.

She sighed, the words jumping at her grabbing ahold of her attention. Good grades, certified genius, mother an interior designer, father a soldier who died in battle, excels in computer science, no allergies present, has no history with depression or related topics, is.... Hang on. Cyn read over the words again under the 'medical' title, her brow furrowing and suspicion growing more in her heart as she let those words sink in.

This must be why Slendy had said that she's got potential, but is it enough? Granted they never seem to have encountered someone with the likes of Brianna, or rather they never housed the likes of Brianna. But Cyn had always assumed it's because they can be unpredictable, hard to control. What's different now?

"Why hello there."

Cyn looked up, her eyes settling on the cocky face of Puppet. No wanting to talk to him, she took a step to the side and continued to walk, sorting through the files she had.

"What? No response?"

"I'm busy Puppet." She replied, a hard edge to her tone.

"Ah but you don't need to be busy. Why don't you let me help you?" He asked, floating after her. Cyn sent him a glare, pulling the papers closer to her body.

"I don't need your help thank you very much." She replied rather coolly.

They walked on, going through various of wings and corridors that helped construct this place. Cyn hope that she could lose the poltergeist in this maze that was their home, but she knew that wouldn't happen.

"But you don't know that now do you?"  Queried Puppet, a knowing smirk on his face."You should really stop shutting others out Cyn, it's not helpful."

"Puppet, shut up and leave me alone. Let me do what I want, I don't need you hovering around telling me otherwise."  She retorted, trying to walk a bit faster.

"I'm just trying to help you, trying to give you a different perspective." He sang now floating in front of her, acting as some sort of barricade. Cyn stopped and gave him a look that showed she wasn't pleased.

"I like my perspective just fine and I don't need help. Now leave me alone Puppet, I have work to do and people to find."

"Who are you in search for if I may ask."

"A person called None-of-your-fucking-business, now move it Puppet."

But being the stubborn person he is Puppet refused. Instead he had a thoughtful expression on his face as he rubbed his chin, as if trying to determine whether or not he has heard of that name.

"Hmm, I'm afraid that I don't know where such a man is." Admitted the poltergeist, a light smile playing on his lips. Cyn just continued to stare at him blankly, not amused in the slightest bit.

"You either leave me alone Puppet or I make you leave me alone."

"By Jove, we don't need any violence here now do we? Some manners might help you there dearie." He said in a rather polite fashion that evidently irked the girl. She walked up to him, gripping the collar of his shirt that her angry face was close to his cocky one.

"You need to fuck off and leave me the hell alone. I don't need some creep hovering after me." She spat, eyes showing anger, her words laced with venom.

"You know..." He started slowly, the girl's sentence not doing much to him, "we could kiss right now."

She let out a repulsive sound before shoving Puppet out of the way, stomping well away from him- being sure distance was created. He just watched her, laughing at how unhappy he had made her. He found it rather funny that she thought he would really leave her alone. Why would he pass up such an opportunity? Especially how fun it could be!

He began following her, being sure that he was invisible this time around so that she wouldn't know he was around.

He trailed her through countless doors, countless hallways before going outside in the chilly air. He continued on, golden eyes not leaving her muscular build as she entered a hall of some sorts. If he remember correctly, it was to act as some training facility- providing to be a much more bigger space than the gym that was actually connected to the mansion.

Now slightly curious for what she was going to do in there he slipped in. His eyes met with shiny floorboards and concrete walls. Over to one side was Jeff, looking over at a crouched form of a girl who was trying to catch her breath. A little bit away from her was a pair of glasses.

"Look at these." Said Cyn, alerting Jeff to her presence. He turned around to see her and she pushed the papers into his chest. He looked at them, eyes going over the words that were written.

"Heh. Never had one of these before." He commented, he glanced over at the red head again, "sort of explains a bit. What do we do with this stuff?"

"Give it to Slendy I suppose." Said the scar eyed girl, "he probably wants us to keep an eye on her for a bit. He might think that she'll be useful later on.... Extremely useful."

"Useful for what?"

"Useful for planting trees! What do you think she's gonna be useful for? Have you been blind during the past few days?"

"Someone's still touchy."

"Someone's still stupid."

Puppet continued to look at the pair, his eyes focusing on the pile of papers. He needed to know what secrets they have, he needed to know whether or not he has a chance on getting another victim out of this.

Sorry for the long wait for this chapter, I was focused on another story but now I'm done with that so I can continue to write this story!

What's on Bree's medical file? What makes her so special?

Is Toby's and Clocky's relationship going to last?

Will Puppet find out what's on the documents and will he continue to annoy Cyn?

Who knows!

See you all in the next chapter :3
