Crazy Mess
Neon sprinted down the hallway, a string of giggles being let loose as the angry cries of Jeff trailed behind her. She and LJ had separated as soon as Jeff opened up his room and Neon was now starting to regret it due to her limited information on the mansion and it's pathways.
But oh well, as long as she doesn't get caught then she should be fine. Although it looked like she will be caught quite soon.
"Get back here you bitch!" Roared Jeff, his entire person covered in glitter.
Her eyes widen for a brief few seconds as fear took over her mind. She looked around frantically and pulled open the first door she found, she then proceeded to shut it rather quickly making the glitterfied Jeff smack into the door. She tried to suppress her laughter as she heard curses from the other side.
"What are you doing here?"
Neon jumped, turning around to face a sweaty Cyn. She easily towered over the rainbow haired killer, her mismatched eyes narrowed in annoyance as beads of sweat trailed down her face. It was then that Neon took more notice of what room she's in. Bits of the wooden floor was covered by mats, tall glass windows nearly covered all of the walls as they let in light to reveal the various of training equipment. Weights, treadmills and more were lined up in an orderly fashion- all of them vacant and ready to be used, meanwhile a heavy looking punching bag swung in a corner, the material being wrapped around a few times by tape and other material- as if it's stuffing was falling out.
"Ah LJ and I pranked Jeff and now he's trying to kill me." Squeaked out Neon, she cleared her throat and then tried to sound tough. As if to prove to Cyn that she wasn't scared of her, "what are you doing here?"
Cyn cocked her eyebrow at the sudden switch of personality but decided to think nothing of it, "boxing." She replied, a deadpan expression on her face.
"Oh..." Replied Neon rather awkwardly, but that was quickly change into another squeak as she saw the door nearly opening. She slammed her back onto it, not wanting Jeff to find her.
"I know you're in there!" Jeff roared out, trying desperately to get into the room.
Cyn closed her eyes and let out a breath, "move." She said quietly.
Deciding that it would be best to do as she says Neon stepped aside allowing Cyn to open the door slightly to face Jeff who was just about to ram into the door again.
"Would you stop that? You're going to break the bloody door." She snapped.
"That's the point. Now where's that My Little Pony reject?"
"She's not here."
"I fucking saw her running into this room, don't say that she's not there!"
"Well that's what I'm saying." Cyn argued, "she ran right through the room, she's outside now you idiot."
"So you're telling me that she didn't stop to stare at your deformed face?" Jeff demanded, in response Cyn flashed him a sarcastic smile.
"Looked in the mirror lately darling?" She asked in a sickly voice that she quickly dropped, "bottom line is she isn't here. Now go and pester someone else, I'm doing a workout." And with that she slammed the door shut, a loud groan of annoyance emitting from Jeff as he continued on his search.
"Wow, thanks." Blinked Neon, surprised that she actually helped her, "why... did you do that?"
"So that Jeff can stop annoying me." She replied, returning to the punching bag, "and so that you can leave. Goodbye now."
Neon narrowed her eyes and crossed her arms, "actually I don't think I will."
"And why is that?" Queried Cyn as she began hitting the bag once more. Her attacks strong and powerful .
"You seem like you want company."
"I don't."
"Ah!" Exclaimed Neon, "but that's what you want me to think!"
"Nope." Replied Cyn with a deadpan expression on her face, "I'm quite content on being on my own. So you can go."
"What if I don't want to go? What if I want to stay here and get to know you better?"
A scoff sounded from the boxer as her leg smack into the punching bag, the chain now creaking as it swung around dangerously.
"Sorry to disappoint you but I don't want you to know me better."
"Why? We could be friends!"
"I don't do friends."
"Why not?"
"I don't think you need to know anything about my reasons. The fact that I don't do friends should be enough to satisfy you." Cyn did a quick turn and stuck her leg out so that the punch bag was once more pushed back. Now getting closer to falling off the chain.
"But why don't you do friends? Friends are wonderful to have!" Exclaimed Neon. After she said that she winced slightly as it reminded her of something Spring and Carnival would say- fellow proxies of Splendy.
"As expected from a proxy of Splendorman." Muttered Cyn as she sent in a strong punch, "look, I just don't do them okay? I work best by myself, and besides I've never really been a people person."
"We can change that!" Chimed Neon, now getting excited, "I can be your first friend and I can make you a people person!"
"Absolutely not."
"C'mon!" She urged, bouncing on the balls of her feet as her mind was overcome with excitement.
"No."
"Yes!"
"No."
"Yes!"
"No! You're wasting your time." Snapped Cyn as she did a punch and kick combo, now successfully making the bag fall off the chain.
"I don't think so." Argued Neon, "you seem to be so gloomy and serious. Friends will help change that! I'll be your friend!"
"What makes you think I want friends anyways?" Asked Cyn, turning her head to face Neon, "I told you already that I don't do them. Why are you so bent on changing that?"
Neon shrugged, "well everyone deserves to be happy and it's not a happy life if you have no friends. Also since I'm Splendy's proxy you'll have to put up with it!"
Cyn narrowed her eyes, the sweat that covered her skin seemed to turn into steam as it became more evident how angry she was about Neon's persistence. Why wouldn't she listen to her? She's quite happy being by herself, continuing through life independently. She's gone through the last few years without befriending anyone in the mansion she can go on for longer. And she will if she could get it into Neon's head.
She walked over to her, taking long strides until she was looking upon the rainbow haired girl.
"Look." She started, her emotions now revealing themselves in her tone, "I. Don't. Do. Friends. I didn't call myself Cynical for nothing you know." She said dangerously. "It's my way of saying to everyone around me that I don't want their friendship, their kindness, their whatever. I believe that people are motivated by their own selfish desires, that they only care about themselves and only themselves. The people around them simply don't matter, why? Because they can never know what another person is thinking. Now do yourself a favour and leave me the hell alone."
"But-"
"I said leave me alone goddammit! You don't know what you're getting yourself into if you're trying to get close to me!" She snapped, she punched the wall beside Neon's face freaking the girl out even more.
A wave of pain overcame Neon in that moment, but it wasn't from Cyn. Oh no.. It was from her injury. Much more powerful waves of pain hit her, her vision starting to lose focus as a vary of colours took over her sight. The fact that Cyn was yelling and had just thrown a punch didn't help either. More waves of convulsion and much more intense pain was brought onto her. She clutched her head to represent the pure agony she was feeling but the fact she fainted truly showed how she was feeling.
Cyn stood there, her eyes widening.
"Damnit." She muttered, bending down to check on Neon. There was no fever, she found out, however she noticed blood trailing down from the wound EJ bandaged up. With a sigh, Cyn grabbed the girl's arm and slung it over her shoulder, proceeding to leave the gym and over to the infirmary where she called EJ who came as soon as possible.
"What did you do to her?!" Exclaimed EJ, taking Neon off her hands. He put her on one of the beds in the infirmary, checking over her.
"I was telling her some stuff and then I nearly punched her." Explained Cyn, her arms folded to appear as if she doesn't care about what had happened, "she collapsed after that."
"So you didn't punch her?"
"No."
EJ continued to look at her, not really believing what she's saying. In return Cyn grumbled out a reply.
"Look, are you a doctor or not? If you were then you could tell that I didn't punch her." She seethed, still feeling angry from moments before. At the sound of her tone EJ instantly backed down and looked over at Neon, fixing her up and so forth. The cross scar eyed girl took this as her cue to leave, walking outside where she encountered yet another person.
Puppet hovered in front of her, looking rather transfixed as he stared at her.
"You don't seem very happy." He commented, she just brushed him off and continued to walk away from the infirmary. However he floated after her, "care to explain why?"
"No." She replied shortly, "it has absolutely nothing to do with you."
"Well I care about you so I would like to think that your well being has something to do with me."
Cyn froze, her body tensing at the words she heard. A shiver crawled it's way down her spine as she analyzed the words that he said along with the tone that he was using.
She knew Puppet to be dangerous, the poltergeist known to be extremely manipulative. It's for these reasons that she tried to avoid him as much as possible. He made her feel uneasy, on edge all the time.
Puppet knew this, and he was going to try and fix it. Since he found out that she was the one harboring the lonely feeling he was going to try and use it to his advantage. He knew that he shouldn't do something like this, however he couldn't help it. He found it intoxicating, so very alluring. It's been almost forever since he felt this feeling.
"If you care about me as you say." Started Cyn, choosing her words carefully, "then I suggest that you stop."
"Oh but that isn't fun." Smiled Puppet.
"It'll be fun for me, now if you excuse me I must leave." And with nothing else to say to the man she walked off rather speedily.
Puppet tried hard to fight the grin off his face, but he was just so pleased. So happy that he found the source and that he could use it to his advantage. For a moment he thought that his stay here was going to be boring, nothing of any interest but he was so incredibly wrong. Very wrong indeed.
He inhaled deeply, the loneliness floating around him. It was like a breath of fresh air, so intoxicating so addictive.
Oh he was going to have a lot of fun.
