An Awkward Encounter
EJ stared at Neon and LJ, wondering what he did to deserve this. He could put up with one of them just fine, and he was hoping that he only had to put up with one- that being Neon thanks to her wound and him having to keep an eye on her just in case nothing bad happens. But here he is now, putting up with not just Neon but bloody Laughing Jack as well. EJ would have gladly take anyone but him, heck he would even take Offenderman if the chance was there. But nope. He was stuck with these two.
He watched as they ran around, ruining the house and mucking it up with the corpses they had made. Blood covered the walls, the odor of organs hovered around the house- making it even more distinct. He continued to eat the kidney he had salvaged from his victim, the taste giving him a bit of joy from this... adventure.
"Aw EJ, why so glum?" Asked LJ, popping up right in front of him.
EJ jumped back in response, hating the fact the clown could teleport.
"Do you need some cheering up?" Questioned Neon, sweetly.
"I need a break from you two." He murmured with a sigh.
LJ laughed at his friend's blunt reply, "haha you're so funny twin!" He slung his arm over his shoulder, guiding him away from the room.
"I'm not your twin."
"But we share the same name!"
"Doesn't mean we're twins." EJ shrugged off LJ's arm, being free from his grasp. "Are you guys okay to moving on?"
"Sure!" Exclaimed Neon, bouncing after them as EJ lead the way to the exit, "where too?"
"Over to the next town," he said, "I think we've attracted enough attention here with all the kills so let's just finish up somewhere else."
"Sure thing EJ!" Chirped Neon, looking very happy. Together the three of them then grabbed a few of their belongings before heading back out into the quiet dark.
"So. How did you end up in the mansion?" Questioned LJ, slightly curious for her story.
"Oh, the proxies found me," she replied offhand, "I was in some tree and Cyn tackled me."
"I think LJ meant how you ended up in the forest," clarified the doctor as they left the house, making their way to the next destination.
"Oh. I was just passing by- trying to get back to Splendy but then I was attacked and all that."
"Sounds like fun." Grinned LJ, "especially fighting those wolves! Everyone's saying they're all deadly and can kill us, but I don't really believe that."
"You really should then." Said EJ in a blunt fashion, "they nearly killed Masky and their attacks are effecting Neon."
"Not really though." She admitted as they continued on.
"I still want to face some of them." Went on LJ, "it could be fun and it'll be like playing with Smile!"
"Except Smile doesn't have a poisonous bite and can actually restrain himself." Argued the doctor. "LJ if you face any of those wolves on purpose I am not fixing you up."
LJ leaned back on EJ, resting his head on his shoulder, "aww doc! Why are you so mean to me?"
In response EJ rolled his eyes, shoving the clown off of him.
The three of them continued with their journey, chatting along the way and making comments on what they had done at the last house. Soon they arrived at a different town, it seemed rather old- the build of houses not as modern and didn't stand as strong as the ones they had encountered before. The road was cracked, begging for it to be redone and fixed meanwhile the lampposts that stood beside it were dim- their bulbs obviously old and worn; needing to be replaced.
"Does anyone even live here?" Asked Neon, looking around the place. In response LJ and EJ nodded.
"Yeah, there's a few people here. All of them are paranoid so it's funny when we kill one of them or scare them." Explained EJ, already trying to get into one of the houses. He checked one of the windows to see if anyone was up and about. After confirming that the bottom level was empty he went back to the front door, picking it's lock before opening it.
"Their reactions are the best," agreed LJ, laughter in his tone, "so who here wants to make the first kill?"
Neon smirked, whipping out her twin daggers that she got back, "let's do this!"
She sneaked into the house, her footsteps not making any noise as she walked up the carpeted stairs and over to a room. The door was opened just a little bit so that faint snoring could be heard. Neon peeked into the room, her eyes going over the bookshelves, instruments, drawers and such before landing on the sleeping form of some kid.
She slipped through the crack of the door, keeping close to the shadows so that she wouldn't be discovered if the person was to awake.
A serious look was present on her features- something you wouldn't expect from this hyper girl, she creep over to the bed- standing over it with daggers in hand. She was about to start the torture, the stabbing but something overcame her. A piercing pain.
She gasped and dropped her weapons, gripping her head as she stumbled back in response. She blinked frantically, wanting the black spots that were appearing in her vision to disappear. She tried breathing in deeply, wondering if that would help but of course it didn't. A flash of red appeared right before her along with strands of wire, electricity sparking from their ends.
A groan freed itself from her as more pain greeted her, the wound started to bleed again and the person awoke- confused. Upon seeing the assassin in his room he let out a scream as Neon let out another pained groan. The pain completely overrunning her mind and taking control.
Soon hands were on her shoulders and the screaming was cut off. Eventually the visions and strange pictures disappeared to reveal LJ's and EJ's concerned faces looking at her. She blinked, realizing she's on the ground. At that the two gave her space as she sat up, rubbing her head due to the dull ache that was there now.
"We should probably leave." Said EJ quietly, he helped her up- offering her some sort of pill. She took it and dropped it in her mouth- swallowing it making the headache dull even more.
"Thanks."
"Are you happy to move around now or do you need wait for a little bit?" Queried EJ, rather anxious for her well being.
"I uh... I think I need a little rest," she admitted, "I saw something really strange."
"Like what?"
EJ glared at the clown, not liking how he hand't took it in account that she probably doesn't want everyone to be talking right now. But Neon didn't mind all too much for she answered the question.
"Ah... it was the colour red and a bunch of wires." She said, wincing as she stood up, EJ helping her.
"C'mon, let's get you to the couch." He said gently, leading her to the stairs and down them, sadly the action was short lived as EJ was torn away from her and forced into the banister- the wood digging into his back. Meanwhile Neon was in a choke hold and LJ was being dangled over the railing by his feet.
EJ was just about to retaliate, his hand having grabbed for the scalpel in his pocket but he soon realized who his attacker was just as she realized who he was. She released him and step back.
"Cyn?"
"Yeah..." She said rather awkwardly, "didn't know you guys were in here too."
"Well... This is awkward." Voiced out Ben having let go of Neon. Soon a loud crash and a squeak was heard.
"Yup." Agreed Jeff, dusting off his hands thanks to him having dropped LJ.
EJ sighed and moved back over to Neon, helping her up and leading her to the couch.
"What are you guys doing here?" Asked EJ as everyone else joined him at the piece of furniture.
"Oh we thought that we would bring the cake we baked to these people, to welcome them to the neighborhood." Said Jeff with a roll of the eyes, "what do you think? We came here to kill!"
"But didn't you guys take the middle path?" Asked EJ.
"We did," answered Cyn, "but then Jeffrey got bored so we came here."
EJ nodded in response as LJ limped in, rubbing his shoulder as he cast a glare at Jeff.
"That really hurt." He pouted, Jeff just shrugged.
"Good."
"Well we should probably leave then." Said Cyn, "you guys were here first so it would-" Ben groaned, for he didn't want to move again. He was too tired, in annoyance Cyn pursed her lips for the reaction, "...or we could stay here."
"Please." Begged Ben, "you and Jeff run around too much. I can't keep up!"
"Your fault." Said both Cyn and Jeff in unison.
"Oh... You guys are here."
At that everyone turned to the front door to see Masky and Hoodie standing there.
"Hey." Replied everyone else.
"C'mon Hoodie, we'll just move onto the next house." Said Masky. Hoodie nodded and just before the two of them could move away they were forced into the house by some unseen force. The door then slammed itself shut and all the windows then clicked to say that they were being locked.
Everyone frowned in confusion, all of them tensing and reaching for their weapons.
"That... was strange." Muttered Masky.
"Who's there?" Yelled out a weak Neon. She tried to stand up but EJ quickly pushed her down.
In reply to her question several beings appeared, some of them looking as if they ripped themselves from the shadows, some of them looking as if they appeared out of nothing while others appeared in a blinding flash. Soon it was shown that these beings were demons- two of them winged, one of them made entirely of ink leaving three to have blue skin- their faces only being decorated with a mouth full of extremely sharp teeth.
EJ quickly pulled up Neon and pushed her into a near by cupboard just as the fight started.
