The sun goes down

The thunder starts

The sky is dark

Dark as night

You can see the clouds part

Rain falls to earth

The noise booming

Above it all

Lightning strikes

Hail starts to fall

Windows shatter

Doors creak and slam

The noise is loud

Extremely loud

But not enough to cover

The silence that I have found

I sit in the darkness

Hoping for the best

Even though I know

Things will never be a fest

It's misery and grief

That wash over me

Like a tide coming full force

I want to believe, to know

The truth, the reality

I scream and scream

My voice now very hoarse

I do not understand

How, why it all happens to me

And nobody else

Across the seas

The sun comes out

The thunder stops

Bringing new hope

As the sorrow drops.
