Storms on Land is a sequel to Beneath the Water. It takes place 26 years after the ending of Beneath the Water and it is a stand-alone novel (i.e. you do not need to read one to understand the other). 

For those who have read Beneath the Water, welcome back. For those just joining us, welcome. I would like to say that there are spoilers in this book from Beneath the Water. Characters from that book do make a guest appearance and the ending is spoiled in this one.
