Sidh
"Let's not talk of the past, I'm a blacksmith now and I wish to keep it that way my friend, now what weapon do you wish for?"
Name: Sidh, though most just decide to call him Sid
Age: When one only really gains a need to count how old they are in the last few hundred years one doesn't know their own age
Gender: Male
Species: Balrog
Titles: King of the Balrog's, The Unshackled Balrog, The String Cutter
Rank: Master Blacksmith
Appearance:
Being a Balrog, Sidh could've chosen any form he wanted to take on, yet when he did take one on instead of choosing a younger and more healthy individual, he made himself older. It was still a body that would be able to work just fine thanks to his physiology but on the outside, most definitely appeared frail. When he chose to take a human form, Sidh wanted to start anew, he chose his new name and a new profession, something that would help others and that he was skilled enough in, blacksmithing. His form, despite it's fragile appearance, is also very bulky, allowing him to easily work the metals in his forges, toned and lean, he has a few scars littering his body thanks to his faster healing rate.
His hair on his head is short, but not so much that it's military style. It has the look that it will begin to loose its colour yet his beard retains the black colour his hair always was in this form with specks of grey to accompany the older appearance. His eyes are dark and dangerous brown, so dark that they're almost black which are focused on more so with the narrowing shape of his eyes. His face is sharp and angular, creased with wrinkles from the frowns he seems to hold constantly. His skin is dark brown, thanks to his own will and also the fact he spends majority of his life out by the sun.
Sidh stands at a whopping 7'0, a little under half his large Balrog height, as it will be explained later, but his whip is constantly wrapped around his right forearm, anyone else who touches it tends to cry in pain but he keeps it handy should he need to defend himself though he isn't the biggest on fighting nowadays.
Second Appearance -
Sidh's original form is not one he likes to show, in fact if you do see it, then it's probably best you stay away. Regardless of those facts, the Balrogarians generally take the tough form, the form of a tall, menacing being, roughly in the shape of a Man, having control of both fire and shadow. They wield a fiery whip with several thongs being their signature weapon. Sidh stands at a massive size of 20 feet, large even for a Balrog. The face crudely resembles that of a man that Balrogs once were, two horns adorn either side of his head and curve down instead of the customary upwards. Cracks snake along his rocky skin where lava spews from, wings also protrude from his back giving him ever more so demon like appearance with his feet having three toes, two forward and one back for better balance. He also has the ability to hold things with them. Sharp spikes also protrude from his elbows what allows him to use them as weapons should the need arise for that.
Personality:
Sidh has changed since he's become human, he used to be a bloodthirsty monster, living the thrill as he strangled his opponents to death, or any other method he would use to kill the poor bastards who wandered too close to the tunnels which he called home. So in short, he was a psychopath by human standards, an insane individual that was dark, cold and didn't feel real emotions. However, when Sidh started to turn, to feel emotions he created another identity, like a separate entity from his Balrog origins, both nearly polar opposites yet they were both Sidh, just like two different sides of the same coin. Sidh however in human form is far nicer, his name he took to prove so means Peace in the elvish tongue, which is his second language for Balrogarian is impossible to understand for anyone but a Balrog.
Sidh wishes for peace, some would call him a pacifist but the fact is, and even Sidh himself knows this, that one can't be a pacifist in this day and age should they wish to achieve peace. He is a rational man and hopes to bring the best out in people where he can, but more often than not it doesn't work. Although he seems happy, Sidh is a rather depressed individual, he has a good stage smile, but once he's alone is when he lets go. Inside, a battle constantly rages between his two sides and so it results in him having to minimise socialising with others to the minimum. He fears himself more than he fears anything else for he knows what he can do when out of control. The only thing that has brought him solace in his life is the ringing of his hammer shaping metal, which is why he has crafted the biggest forge on the island.
Sidh isn't known for loyalty, if anything, he would more likely end up killing an apparent friend over foe purely because of his old self. He can be animalistic at times and bloodthirsty, and usually a simple kill will satisfy this though if that is too costly simply hold him in a body of water for a bit to set him straight once more.
Date of Birth: June the 9th
History: Sidh's history is long and bloody. His birth marked the start of his realm that he originates from, created from shadow, flame and earth. Originally he was nothing, an it, horribly misshapen until he was shaped by the creators of his realm into a beast, a monster to enforce their will and he did that. Any who stood before him died under his blows if they went against his creators. Soon, more Bolrog's joined under his command and the creators ruled without opposition until one Balrog grew free will. He began to think why he served the creators and this was Sidh, he began to change without the creators help and realised he had been the origin of this place. So he escaped his realm, the shadow realm and took on his human form. He took his skills he'd learnt and then trained. After eons he returned to the realm in which he had originated from and with his arsenal of weapons he slaughtered his creators and freed the Balrog's to think on their own. Yet they still wanted a leader and despite his protests, Sidh was chosen. Sidh took the position and made the realm for Balrog's, he built mighty castles and palaces, made a system which had a hierarchy system but ensured no Balrog was left uneven with himself as King. Then he left, he shed his Balrogarian form and travelled from the shadow realm. Still he is seen as King, yet he doesn't rule as one thanks to his system it can function easily without any ruling figures for the Balrogs as a whole don't need much apart from the occasional bloody war.
For the past few years he travelled Earth realm, engineering war implements, making advancements in weapons that without him wouldn't have happened for eons, and now he wishes to make his skills useful for people similar to him, to be a master blacksmith and make fine weapons before he finally returns to his realm.
Powers:
~ Blood Offering - Sidh slices open his palm, allowing his fiery blood to splash upon the earth and releasing a small portion of his full form's powers. It empowers him physically and his abilities in a large degree for a short time, but weakening him after a few minutes it retains its effects so he usually tends to use this to the end of a fight, enabling him to finish it off quickly. He can turn off the effects, but it will drain the energy he may use either way.
~ Black Smoke Mimicry - Sidh's original Balrog form is partially made of black smoke, so, in his human form Sidh can mimic this for short periods of time to escape from close situations or even if needed, choke his opponents on it. When he is at fully power, he can remain in this form for about 5 minutes, but the length of it ultimately depends on his strength.
~ Darkness Manipulation - Sidh can create, shape and manipulate darkness and shadows. By itself, darkness is mostly used to cloud everything in total blackness, but by accessing a dimension of dark energy, it can be channelled to a variety of effects, both as an absence of light and a solid substance: Sidh can create and dispel shields and areas of total darkness, create constructs and weapons, and also open what he calls breaches into his original form where the remainder of his demonic kind originate from another realm. Construct wise, he has a limit of 5-8 minor weapons such as daggers, to 1 or 2 large weapons such as greatswords.
~ Symbol Magic - Sidh can formulate symbols that can cause special events to occur, depending on the symbol that empowers the object or other individual, the enchanted object or person can achieve a variety of abilities.
~ Fire Manipulation - Sidh can create, shape and manipulate fire, the rapid oxidation of a material in exothermic chemical process of combustion, releasing heat, light and various reaction products, flame being the visible portion of the fire. He can summon a small fireball that may remain present for 10 to 15 minutes, while something like a wall of fire will last from 2 to 3 minutes
~ Heat Infusion - Sidh can infuse his body or weapons with heat, burning people without a resistance to it with a touch, getting so hot that the earth metal melt in the radius of the heated object. He can infuse up to 8 weapons at once.
~ Shapeshifting - Sidh can shape shift into other humans only, though to do so he has to have either been in contact with them or killed them to take their form.
~ Domain Lordship - In taking part in and killing the other creators of the shadow realm, Sidh now is a lord of it, being able to shape it to his will, so while he is all powerful there, it is only there and not outside that realm.
Skills:
~ Expert Acrobatic and Martial Artist - As has been mentioned, despite his bulky and old looking form, he's extremely flexible, being an amazing acrobat with focused training to combine it with martial arts. Although he is familiar with many techniques in close combat, he finds ones from the Elves that he tortured as his monstrous self to be most effective in close combat situation
~ Whip Proficiency - Sidh is able to demonstrate natural aptitude for the way of the ship. He is able to wield a whip with great proficiency in range, accuracy and speed allowing him to perform feats such as wrapping then pulling things or bringing them closer, binding his enemies, scaring/lashing opponents, binding then snatching other's weapons, swinging from his altitudes and slicing the flesh of his enemies when striking at great speed.
~ Blunt Weapon Proficiency - Sidh is able to demonstrate brutal aptitude and great proficiency in using blunt type weaponry: varying types of melee weapons solely meant to inflict heavy blunt force damage and/or trauma, making Sidh very dangerous in close quarters combat. Sidh can also break down structures and take out heavily armoured enemies.
Abilities:
~ Hover - When Sidh engages in a battle, he unconsciously raises himself up off the ground, allowing himself to move faster and helps him to avoid some ground based attacks.
~ Flight - In his Balrogarian form, Sidh has a pair of wings which gift him the ability to fly, as stated he can hover in his human form, but he can only fly with his wings when he sheds his human skin
~ Accelerated Perception - Sidh's mind and senses process information at such speeds that time appears to have slowed down, allowing him to perceive what would normally be moving too fast to see and respond accordingly.
~ Accelerated Metabolism - Sidh has an accelerated metabolism, rendering him resistant to weight gain, illness, injury and accelerating his healing speed.
~ Fireproof - Thanks to Sidh's heritage, he is immune to flames and lava, anything that burns simply doesn't harm him, in face he thrives in it
~ Fear Inducement - Sidh unconsciously increases fear and horror in others upon sight of his Balrog form, causing the target's brain to release fear-inducing chemical. He has a limit of about 1-2 meter radius from him for the effect to work. It can be a handy tool, shading foes, but when even the women he once loved tried to kill herself to stop the overwhelming fear he despises his Balrog form and this particular ability.
Other:
~ When Sidh is in his human form, his attacks are usually just pushes of shadow or a stream of fire to ward you off as he doesn't tend to kill unless he risk himself turning permanently back to his Balrog self, where with this powers the shadows become sharpened and his fire turns people to ashes.
~ Balrogarian Whip & Sword - The weapons of Balrogs tend to be made either of shadows flame and in Sidh's case his are flaming weapons, a whip which is a customary Balrog weapon alongside a sword which is to secure quick kills.
~ Death's Mace - As a Balrog, Sidh was well known, both by his kind and the others that encountered him. So, because of the amount of destruction he caused before he created his human form, he was gifted a mace from Death herself (how he sees Death) from his realm, who's beliefs were much more malicious and blood thirsty, so with this mace he carries Death's favour. The mace itself causes pain upon first touch akin to hot water hitting the skin and it will intensify depending on how long the contact lasts. The mace also takes the soul of whoever Sidh kills with it. He can call upon the knowledge of a maximum of two people at once from the mace that he will keep afterwards.
~ Balrogarian Armour - When Sidh took on an actual human form, he realised he would need protection and so, using the knowledge of his ancient predecessors, he created Armour similar to his ingrained Balrog armour, but for his human form. Thus, this wicked piece of metal madness was made, really highlighting his blacksmithing skills.
