Perseus "Percy" Stormwing
"The Sea doesn't like to be restrained"
Name| Perseus 'Percy' Stormwing
Age| 2, 500 years old but appears to be 28 due to his appearance
Gender| Male
Species| Immortal Demigod, Son of Poseidon, God of the Seas, Earthquakes and Horses, the mighty Earth shaker
Rank| Guardian
Guardian - Through his centuries upon centuries of experience, Perseus has learnt many a thing, he has been through most of the deadliest military forces and was part of the reason each one was so successful in their respective times, he has orchestrated many battles and won wars in the past purely on his strategic planning alone, which is yet another reason for him becoming a Guardian. Not only is he adept in battle, but also a very adept battle strategist, calm in the face of a fight
Appearance -
Being a child of a god, it was only fitting that the form in which he grew into was that of an extremely good looking man. Being a demigod such as Perseus is, he looks exactly like anyone of us, merely gifted with looks that other men can only envy as he is a half god. Perseus is rather muscular, keeping in good shape for the need to protect himself and others with his combative skills. He stands at a comfortable height of 6'3 and as said before he is a very muscular man and it isn't hard at all to believe the small fact that he possesses the power of a god within his veins. Despite his form seeming to be so muscular and brutish he is extremely agile and quick despite the belief he may be clumsy and cumbersome. This is all due to the years and years of training he has had, toning his body into what it is today. Perseus is a fairly pale skinned man during the winter and autumn but during summer and spring he gains a moderate tan, the skin itself is fairly smooth except for his hands which are dotted with callouses from both handling weapons and hauling ropes on boats as well as working with wood and the tools associated with it. Despite Perseus' slightly faster healing rate he still has not moved through life unscathed as dotting his body are scars, some long and straight, others short and jagged and even a mix of both. These scars mainly appear on his chest and back, but he does have a small one on his lip. His pale complexion is contrasted by his dark blonde hair, that runs down and past his shoulders and around to his back when he neglects to tie it up. His face is broad and chiselled like that of a marble sculpture, his jaw line strong and straight.
His light and small pink lips lead to his average sized nose that yet again somehow holds the appearance of strength behind it. It then leads to his high cheekbones that can be seen up close but aren't hugely defined and spotlighted. This leaves an amazing feature of his and what grabs most people's attention when they look upon him which are his beautiful blue eyes, like that of the deep waters of the ocean, dark yet a sparkling light to them. Framing these are his eyelashes, hard to spot but above them are his seemingly sculpted eyebrows of a darkish brown colour. His eyes do have something else that holds them apart from mortal eyes and that is the fact that when using his powers and abilities his dark blue eyes change completely. They become bright sea green, potentially blinding anyone else that come into eye contact with Perseus, occasionally being a great advantage in battle.
Upon his body he has a few tattoos from over the years he has been alive, tattoos with meaning to him that to any others would mean nothing. On his right wrist is placed the phrase: "The life of the dead is placed in the memory of the living"
This is by the great Roman orator Marcus Tulius Cicero.
Then upon his left wrist he has placed the phrase: "Death is the wish of some, the relief of many, and th end of all"
It was written by famous Roman philosopher Seneca. Both phrases are written in the now dead language Latin.
Upon his left rib cage, up and under his arm is a Raven, symbolising his time with the Norse Vikings as the Raven is Odin the Allfather. Opposite to that, upon his right rib cage is a falcon in the look of an ancient Egyptian style of drawing, representing Ra, their sun god and his time spent with those people.
Finally, he has two more written in his birth tongue, Ancient Greek. Firstly is the phrase: "From a thorn a rose emerges and from a rose a thorn"
This means Atavism, or one doesn't know what their offspring will become in life representing when Perseus had his own offspring.
Lastly, he has three names, three simple words which is his dead mother's, his dead son's and his dead wife's name being Leto, Astrea and Orion respectively in Ancient Greek.
A common expression upon the face of this son of Poseidon is that of a simple smile, although true happiness has evaded him for many years. He doesn't let that show to people on the outside, reserving it for the times he is in private, not appearing totally serious unless the situation demands it of him.
Personality| Perseus is a very open man, well at least to that that don't know him too well he is. Ever since he was granted immortality by his father, he has become colder over the years to those that have come to call him friend, to outsiders though, he seems rather happy and cheerful. Despite this he is a man of full independence and is very opinionated, and with this he's quite headstrong, not caring to challenge anyone who believes him wrong.
Going through the ages as he did, Perseus' nature has changed many times and has come to be very wide. He has the intelligence of the Greeks, which they were known for. The war strategies of the ancient Romans. The patience of the Japanese, the wisdom of the Chinese. The ferocity and fearlessness of the Vikings. The chivalry of an English knight.
He grew fast for a human, his growth rate doubling that of any mortal child and so he had to learn quick as well, being instilled traits by his mother like courage and kindness, to be charming and also outspoken of his views. Despite his mother's attempts to try and teach him to be passive and calm, majority of the time he is the opposite, just like the sea. One minute he may be calm and gentle, but as soon as the wind disturbs the water it just turns into a destructive force of action and he must take charge in those times of the situation in hand.
Growing through the years he has was never easy, until the last century or so it was essential to fight to survive. Naturally, since his spirit is of a fighter, his first thought it always to fight his way out of the current situation which more often then not leaves dead bodies in his wake.
As much more as he has in his hands, it isn't so easy as one might think. He is a slave to his emotions, he can often lash out at people due to his passionate nature and more often than not it can lead to injury of someone he loves or cares for. He has a strong sense of justice and longs to see that justice is done where he can. This means he has to bring out the cold and stern side of him that is only seen when he fights or when he sees something he doesn't like, both being very serious circumstances.
Loyal to a fault, any who have come to call him a friend have never been let down by him, he always without fail puts those he cares for before himself which is both good yet bad. Though he does lack in the honesty department, seeing that to protect those he loves he more often than not must lie to keep them safe.
He was once known for his adventurous nature yet over his years of life it has slowly deteriorated. He has come to gather many ancient texts from both his heritage but also from others such as the Romans, Egyptians, Norse, Japanese and the Chinese being his main interests. Despite the fact most of the gods themselves have either faded or become very weak their knowledge still remains and back when he was among Vikings he even travelled the nine realms in serach for knowledge. As Odin admired a kindred spirit, he showed Perseus the tree Yggdrasil and allowed him to travel its branches for a time.
Perseus is a very ambitious man and in his time, so far on this planet he has shown that, always being a leader to the group he was with, whether that be as Prince of Athens, a general of Rome or an Earl to the Vikings, he would always want to explore new regions and want new and better things.
He's also a man of very strong morals, valuing people that he can trust and respect, preferring those in his company to be like minded or advantageous to him in some way. Perseus isn't a very insecure man, he's confident in both his mind and body and although if he challenged he will take it, he isn't one to feel as though he needs to prove himself if he knows he can do what others doubt he can.
He is a very witty man however, preferring others around him to be happy than sad like he truly is and so he is always one to crack a joke even if it isn't in a serious moment because he knows that many people's life upon Earth is limited and so he wishes to make it a happy one before he loses them like so many before. Yet again though, this doesn't mean he always comes off cheerful as he can be one of the most intimidating men when you're a stranger yet at the same time endearing. There is an aura around him that draws you in almost, his personality alluring in nature.
As stared he may be one of the most loyal people alive, yet that doesn't mean he is blind to treacherous actions. Should you betray him in anyway, be wary and assume he knows because he is a very patient man, one minute he may be calm when you're in a group as soon as you and him are alone the sea rages inside of him and he's most likely to snap your neck before you realise what's happened.
Date of Birth| Third of June, Five Hundred BC
History| A long time ago, a woman, of seemingly ethereal beauty walked the Earth in the time of Greece. Men flocked to her, vying for her hand in marriage yet she would always decline. Even Kings of great power were dazed by her beauty, offering her riches and everything she could hope for and yet she still declined their offers. One day, a man of equal looks approached her. He was dressed in dirty clothes of a fisherman yet he smelt of the beautiful sea and behind the grime was the beautiful face of her dreams. When asked if she stay lay with him, she never hesitated for a moment. The night went far too quick for the woman of beauty, for once they had dined and slept together, she awoke to find the man gone, leaving a simple letter of apology for what he had done to her, telling her to find a man to raise the baby that she would soon have and so, she did. One more King approached her, the King of Athens and with this she travelled with him, making sure to bed with him so he would believe the child to be his.
Nine months later when Perseus was born, Leto, the woman who had slept with the fisherman and was now the Queen of Athens was greeted by the same fisherman. Yet he was different, dressed in the finest battle armour and all cleaned up yet she knew it was him from the smell of the ocean was clearly upon him. Before she could beg him to take her away, he spoke and began to explain who he was and what his son was to become. He had expected her to deny his claims to being Poseidon, the god of the seas but she accepted it and seeing as her son would be a powerful force she asked if he would at least bless Perseus with protection and so he did. As long as they were close to a body of water, the waters would protect the boy until he could do so himself.
The next 14 months weren't anything exciting for Perseus, except for the fact that instead of being merely 14 like the other children, he had seemed to be double in age and was the age of 28 already, a strong fit man, ready to destroy his enemies in battle. His mother was worried though and managed to consult Poseidon who in turn gave her a golden apple and told her: "His power is far greater than I expected, his body will age far too fast for him and he will die without this. The apple will make him immortal, only able to die in battle but this doesn't mean he won't age. Yet do not tell him this, he is still too young to know of his true parentage"
And with that, Leto gave her son the apple who ate it, not knowing of the effects which it held.
Many years after the day of him consuming the golden apple, his mother told him of his true father, told him that he must leave Athens behind and learn the power inside him by going to his father for aid.
After many years of training in the sea, Perseus finally emerged a man of power and a man of vision. He was Poseidon's sword, an extension of his father's will upon the land and he devastated his father's enemies, destroying Ares' little Spartans and many more along the way, even bringing about the downfall, centuries after his mother's death, of his once home Athens to anger Athena.
Though as the new military force came through known as the Romans, Perseus became the Champion of Olympus, working for Jupiter, the equivalent of Zeus (as Neptune, Poseidon's equivalent, was rather weak in Rome).
After they passed he went to the Japanese who were amazed by his skills and gained the title of the son of Sujin, the Chinese who called him son of Mazu, then the Vikings decided to call him the son of Njord, before moving on to England and then to Germany. After all this travelling, he decided to settle down for a while, or that's what he thought, instead he was drawn to this new place, where powerful presences were gather and he felt like joining them.
Powers|
Water-Induced Abilities - When in contact with water, Perseus gains a disproportionate amount of superhuman clarity, strength, speed, agility and endurance that would seem to be equal to a god in some cases. He also heals himself from any wound and most poisons when he comes into contact with water, the amount of water and time needed for the healing being proportionate to the severity of the wound.
[All water abilities are proportionate to the amount of water available to Percy at the time and the water used must be at least within a 10-15 meter radius from him]
Hydrokinesis - With the power of the sea within him, Perseus can control every form and great volumes of water, being able to summon and heal his wounds and cure himself of most poisons with it. Perseus can control water almost omnipotently. He can control it in order to make it explode, or use it to grab something. Let it be known though that he cannot create water from nothing, merely draw out (petrified seashells) or control pre-existing water. The ability does tire him out, although it is dependant on the amount of water used
~o~ Water Propulsion - He can control the water around him to propel himself through water. Perseus can also shoot water in a concentrated jet from a water source.
~o~ Water Solidification - Perseus can harden water into an almost solid shape. He can use this power to walk on water, by increasing the surface tension of the water to the point where it is solid enough for him to stand on. He can also create water constructs. However keep in mind it is not ice, merely water that has been solidified by his powers.
Atmokinesis (Limited) - Perseus can summon hurricanes and other types of storms though out of everything, this ability is his most taxing ability and isn't easily controlled. It is used as a last resort only.
Geokinesis (Limited) - Percy can generate mild tremors and cause loose objects to shake, what may in turn cause an increased activity of waves.
Skills|
Expert Acrobatic and Martial Artist - As has been mentioned, despite his big and bulky looking form he's extremely flexible, being an amazing acrobat with focused training to combine it with martial arts. Although he is familiar with many techniques in close combat, he finds one from the Chinese to be most effective in close combat situations. Although his powers are useful from most ranges, he was trained in combat before he had the knowledge of his powers and so even without his powers he is a force to be reckoned with.
Expert Swordsmanship - Perseus is able to wield a sword with incredible proficiency in speed, power and skill, allowing him to perform extraordinary feats most men only dream of. Perseus is able to operate with little or no effort, deliver skilful strikes to wek points with great precision and cut only and exactly what he wants. This ability also allows him to become naturally skilled with multiple swords or any bladed weapon regardless of shape or size to suit his needs in combat. His remarkably fast weapon control sometimes allows him to bypass obstacles in order to cut his intended target.
Expert Axemanship - Perseus is able to demonstrate a savage aptitude for the ways of the axe. He is able to wield an axe with great proficiency in brute power and destructive features to kill strong enemies. He is also proficient in wielding throwing axes to add a ranged attack to his repertoire.
Expert Infiltrator/Saboteur - Through his millenia of experience, Perseus has dedicated precious time to learning how to infiltrate behind enemy lines, blend in with them and all the while sabotage their machines, food supply, armaments and any other important things that may need taking out.
Abilities|
Superhuman Physical Condition - As a demigod Perseus is faster, stronger than a normal mortal, as well as being more agile and durable. These physical attributes have allowed him to perform feats normal humans can't, as well as survive conditions mortals cannot.
Underwater breathing - Perseus can breathe underwater and diffuse the oxygen in the water to create oxygen bubbles to allow his non-hydrokinetic friends to breathe underwater
Sailing Skills - Perseus possess and intimate awareness of any ship he is on (sailing ships, canoes, motorboats, possibly submarines); being able to telekinetically operate one (as well as anything related to the ocean)
Water Immunity - Perseus can fall from great heights into water, and it unaffected by any amount of water pressure. He does not get wet if submerged in water, unless he wants to. Percy can dry items underwater, as long as he holds onto it) such as a lighter.
Perfect Bearings - Perseus has perfect bearings on the ocean, so he can easily navigate his way at sea
Communication - Perseus has divine authority over and can talk (normally and telepathically) to equines and sea creatures who mainly treat him with deference and lordly respect
Heat resistance - Perseus has a far higher than normal resistance to heat and burns, similar to that of a Cyclops, due to his father's oceanic nature
Other|
Flash of Water - Perseus always keeps an extra flash of water upon him, one he reserved for drinking and this one he uses for combat purposes or healing if needed
Bastard Sword (Broadsword) - A medieval Bastard Sword that takes the shape of a smaller sword on a necklace, when pulled upon it automatically unlatches and the real sword takes the pendant's place in his hand, ready for battle
Viking Hand Axe - An old Viking hand axe that is always in his pocket in the form of a coin, when flipped into the air it lands in his hand only to become the Viking weapon and if desired he can throw it, only for it to fly back into his hand due to the enchantments placed upon it. It was a parting gift from Odin.
Wristwatch Shield - A wristwatch which turns into a shield, given to him by his father Poseidon, previously it had different shapes but moulds to the desired look of the owner.
[Both his armour and weapons have been created in the smiths of Hephaestus, what in turn grants them enchantments for extra protection. Thus the armour can withstand a few tons of force before it dents. Furthermore, the metal itself is of godly origin]
Namean Lion's Pelt - Obtained in the Namean Lion skirmish centuries ago, when he planed the death of the Namean Lion, it takes the form of a fur coat as he desires and is impervious to slashing damage and magic though it is prone to blunt force blows
