As Master Cyclonis and Salem forged an alliance, they began planning out the conquest of both Atmos and Remnant. Once Atmos and Remnant were conquered, they had their eyes set on the greater Multiverse. In Atmos, the Storm Hawks were patrolling the skies of Atmos. On board the Condor, the Storm Hawks were taking the time to relax when Piper picked up strange signals.

Piper: Guys? I'm picking up something strange.

At that point, all of the Storm Hawks gathered around Piper with the exception of Stork who was piloting the Condor.

Aerrow: What did you pick up, Piper?

Piper: I picked up some kind of transmission, but I can't make sense of it. 

Piper then played the transmission which sounded garbled and unintelligible. At that point, everyone was confused.

Aerrow: That's odd.

Finn: Sounds a lot like gibberish if you ask me.

Piper: I tried boosting the signal, but it's not working....wait. I'm getting something.

Piper then zeroes in on the signal and boosts it. What they found was a barely audible transmission. Dove's voice was heard. 

Dove(Transmission): If.....can hear.....Terra Gale.....attacked by monsters.....

The transmission was cut off. Upon hearing the transmission, the Storm Hawks became concerned.

Junko: That...that was Dove! 

Aerrow: Stork! Take us to Terra Gale! 

Stork: I've got a bad feeling about this....

With that, the Storm Hawks made their way to Terra Gale. When they reached Terra Gale, they found it to be under attack by a horde of Grimm. 

Piper: What are those things?!

Finn: Ugly animals that's what they are!

Junko: I don't know Finn! These things don't seem like regular animals! They're definitely not the cute and cuddly ones!

The Storm Hawks soon exited the Condor to confront the Grimm. The Grimm crowded around the Storm Hawks like prey. They gnashed their fangs and growled at them. The Storm Hawks readied their weapons, knowing that a fight was ahead. The Grimm charged at them. At first, the Storm Hawks were overwhelmed by the sheer power of the Grimm. When a Grimm got the drop off Aerrow, Aerrow unleashed a Lightning Claw attack on the Grimm's mask. The force of the attack destroyed the Grimm's mask, killing it. 

Aerrow: AIM FOR THE MASKS! 

With that, the Storm Hawks began exploiting the Grimm's weakness. As the battle reached it's climax, the Storm Hawks were able to defeat the Grimm. 

Finn: Man...that was intense. 

Junko: What....were those things? 

Piper: I...I don't know. I've never seen creatures like that in my life....

As the Storm Hawks were trying to make sense of it all, Radarr screeches at them. The Storm Hawks turn to see Cinder Fall and the rest of Salem's Cabal approaching them. 

Finn: Who invited them?

Piper: Something's not right.....

Aerrow: Keep your guard up. 

As the Storm Hawks turned their attention to Cinder and the others, the Fall Maiden lets a smile escape her face. 

Cinder: So you are the Storm Hawks. We've heard so much about you.

Aerrow: Did Cyclonis send you? 

Cinder: Something like that. 

Cinder's eyes then flare up as she activates her Maiden Powers. The Storm Hawks readied their weapons as Cinder unleashed a shockwave of fire, knocking the Storm Hawks back. As the Storm Hawks attempt to get back on their feet, Finn aims his Energy Crossbow and fires at Cinder. Tyrian then pounces on Finn and raises his stinger at Finn's face. 

Tyrian: Glory to our Goddess!

Junko: Get away from him!

Junko then grabs Tyrian and throws him back. It was at this point that Mercury and Hazel jumped Junko. As Junko blocks their attack, Aerrow and Piper stepped in and attacked them. 

Aerrow: We're taking you down!

Mercury: That's cute, kid! 

Mercury then lands a kick at Aerrow's face. When Piper hits Mercury in the face with her Staff, Emerald fires several shots at Piper, but she manages to block it with her staff. As the Storm Hawks were being overwhelmed, Stork pilots the Condor towards Cinder and her allies. 

Cinder: Emerald? 

Emerald nods her head as she uses her Semblance.  Suddenly, the area turns dark as black smoke rises from the ground nearby. From it, a giant effigy of Salem, limbs bent and deformed, towers above everyone in the room. The giant Salem opens her eyes, and lets out an ear-piercing scream as it swoops down over everyone. But the illusion was shattered when a colorful bird swoops down and attacks Emerald. The bird then transforms into the Guardian Arygyn. 

Aerrow: Arygyn! 

As the Storm Hawks regrouped, Arygyn glanced over to Cinder and her allies. Immediately, Arygyn realized that something was wrong. 

Arygyn: You're not of this world....

Cinder smiled as she unleashed a powerful shockwave of fire, catching Arygyn off guard. At this time, Aerrow goes for an overhead strike and attempts to take Cinder down, but Cinder blasts Aerrow back with a blast of fire. At this point, Cinder turns to her allies. 

Cinder: It's time we fall back. We've done our part. 

Emerald then conjures another illusion of Salem, allowing them to escape. As the area was cleared, the Storm Hawks took a moment to process what just happened. 

Finn: Okay...what just happened?! We just got our asses kicked!

Piper: Who...who were those people? 

Aerrow: Whoever they are, they're dangerous. 

Arygyn paused as he quickly figured out what was going on. 

Arygyn: We need to prepare. 

What the Storm Hawks didn't realize was that the boundaries between Atmos and Remnant had been broken. Just as Atmos had come under attack by Salem's Grimm, the Cyclonian Empire would launch their own attack on Remnant.
