so this one started becuz my sibling was in creative writing and one of Eir assignments was that Ey had 2 write a 1500 word story and Ey were complaining SO SO much about it so I tried to prove to Em that it isn't that hard to write 1500 words and I tried 2 do it in a day... (I failed miserably lolz)

"Happy birthday Theo!" Ava declared, as she walked into the room holding a box with small holes poked on the side of it. Theo perked up at the sight of the box and, in a high pitched voice he asked "Whatcha got there?" Ava shielded the box away from him. "Nothing." She lied. "Oh, okay." Theo muttered sadly.

 Ava knew that it was just a small white lie but she couldn't help feeling sorry for Theo. His past was full of lies, people telling him what to be or do, and his family treating him like he was worthless. 

"Welllllll..." Ava dragged on the word. "Yes?" Theo perked up, hopeful. Ava opened the box, pulling out a small orange and white fluffy object that appeared to be... Squirming? Yes, the small fluffy object was squirming. 

"You got me a cat?" Theo asked, hope still in his voice. "Yup!" Ava exclaimed. "And not just any old cat. May I introduce you to... Professor Periwinkle or, you know, just Peri, for short." Theo jumped up at the sight of Peri.

 "Oh my goodness you are so cute!!" He squealed. Ava smiled at how well Theo was adapting to the city and being around a lot of other people. She set the cat down on the floor, so the small creature could explore. 

"May I...?" Theo asked, gesturing to the cat. "Hm? Oh yeah you can pick her up," She added with a smile, "She doesn't mind." Theo hesitated before saying, "Oh um actually I was asking if I could pet her..." He trails off at the end of his sentence. "Sorry that was a stupid question." 

Ava walks across the room towards him and takes his hands in hers and says, "Theo you know you don't have to ask anymore, right?" He nodded. "I know, but it's just routine for me to do it at this point." 

Ava pauses, as if she's choosing her next words carefully. "Theo, you know you can tell me anything, right?" Theo nodded slowly, as if he didn't know this. "You DO know this right?" Theo didn't move or say anything. Tears started to drip down his face. Ava hesitated. "Can I give you a hug?" She always knew to ask before giving Theo a hug. He nodded his head in response. She wrapped her arms around him, squeezing him slightly. Peri the cat came over and purred, rubbing her head against Theo's hand. This made him smile.
