Not only that, it carried many types of microorganisms. These microorganisms has the ability to change the physical look and body structure of a human into something else.

Almost 98% of the human population was infected, giving them extra limbs or superpower-like abilities.

Now, earth is populated by many new types of species that were based on fictional characters like werewolves and humans with wings. They were no longer called humans, but creatures based on the 6 main groups.

The Feline; those who have lion or cat-like characteristics.

The Lupine; those who have dog or wolf-like characteristics.

The Vulpine; those who have fox-like characteristics.

The Avian; those who have bird-like characteristics.

The Reptilian: those who have reptile-like characteristics.

And The Fables; those who have fairy tale creature-like characteristics and also considered as one of the strongest species.

No longer being the dominant species, humans are now considered an endangered species.

Tsuna unfortunately, was one of the few to be born as a human. Well, half-human to be exact.

His mother was pure human while his father was something else. Iemitsu was one of the Fables.

Unfortunately, he was the only one to become a half-human-half-Fables. Because of that, Iemitsu asked for Vongola Nono, a Fables, to seal Tsuna's Fables power. Thanks to that, Tsuna was bullied throughout his life because of his human status.

Now, when Nono sent Reborn, a Fables, to train him and make him boss of Vongola, Tsuna's power was awakened from its slumber.

Through his journey to become one, he met many people and fought many battles. Slowly but surely, he began to have allies from all the 6 groups.
