Story #9: The Person I Wish I Was, Part Two
There he was, curled up, trying to hide just how painful his chest felt.
Oh Pilseung had his ears covered, tears falling down his cheeks as he sobbed to his heart's content. Why? Why was he never enough? Why did he only end up hurting his friends? Why was he even born?
Memories of what had happened to the Tobots since he met them flashed through his mind. From Bubble Cat electrocuting them so he would give him Galaxy Weapon 4, to Lightning being corrupted to the bad guy's side, to Pada's corruption, and then to the recent Black Tobot business. All of those happenings had been his fault for being so stupid and oblivious to everyone's feelings.
Days like these made him wonder why this happened to him. He just came across it in the playground all those months ago, and it had reacted to him... Did it like him or something? But why would a Galaxy Weapon like him of all people? Why not the smart Pada, or the cheerful Pori, or even Jeon Iluk, or his mom?
Why the middle member of his family, him?
Why the person who couldn't do anything right?

The watch lit up on its own, making the shadows dance in the cave he was in as it seemed to be loading something.
He blinked. What did this mean?
A hologram then lit up the place, giving it soft reflections of a silhouette of a robot of sorts.
"Oh hey there. If you see this, then it probably means I'm dead," he chuckled, adjusting his cap. "Well, I did predict that to happen on Earth, but who knows?"
He blinked.
"Anyway, you're probably the second person to ever use Galaxy Weapon 4," he admitted. "I'm the first, and I'm a robot who was literally put in stasis because I tried to rebel, yo, so I hope you do better or whatever, yo."
Despite himself, a snicker escaped his lips. It was funny how humourous this person was.
"I'm Swag, by the way, and I set this message to pop up if my user needs guidance."
Guidance? What did he mean?
"You may be wondering about my meaning, and I understand. But well," he sheepishly scratched the back of his head. "I met this kid named Taeyang, and he's making me realize the true meaning of being a hero."
"The true meaning of being a hero?..."
"You know, in the end, it's not about the fame. It's not about whether you can do it or not. Just because you've made mistakes in your life doesn't mean that you can do things alone. Alone you can do so much, but together you can do more. My friends are there for me, even when I've done stupid things to them. They care for me a lot," he smiled. "Taeyang, Master V, Alpha Plus, Storm Joe and Titan Saver. They're all here for me and treat me well. And you know what? It's taught me what it means to be a hero; to save lives, with all you can. It doesn't mean that you have to force yourself. No, it only means that you have to put your brain and soul into it. Think of good plans and show your determination. It's weird, I know, cause everyone has their own formula, but I believe this can be a good mix for you. Galaxy Weapon 4 is very picky, and it shows. When I bond with anyone, I bond with someone who understands the pain, and hides it behind their actions. So, you wielding it means that you aren't perfect, but you can be better. That's why, don't push yourself to think that you have to do things right. Making mistakes is okay, but you need to remember them to know what to do differently in the face of a similar problem in the future. Maybe you need help, but it's okay. Don't hold back. Get help before you become a jaded corpse. A walking corpse with no intention to live."
His eyes widened, and he felt tears stream down his cheeks after hearing Swag's words.
All his life, he had created a defense against the bullying, the harsh words. But it never worked when it was his loved ones saying it. It penetrated and slapped him hard on the cheek, sending him sprawling to the ground. It hurt so so much. The people comparing him to Pada, always losing to everyone, always being the third wheel despite what others saw. He saw it as an extension to what others thought about him.
But maybe, he could use it as a way to get back up again. After all, there was a saying that when you're sinking to rock bottom, the only way to go is up. Maybe, he could learn and become a better Galaxy Master who deserved the watch he had been given.
He closed his eyes, and felt a light feeling spread throughout his body.
For the first time in his life, Oh Pilseung felt inner peace.
"Thank you, Swag..." he looked at the hologram, a smile on his face. "I promise I will learn and be a better person."
"Pilseung-ah!"
The hologram disappeared, and he suddenly felt two people and a lot of cars hugging him.
"You idiot!"
"You should have told us!"
"Pilseung-saramguan, don't ever say that again!"
"You worried us!"
"Keep another secret again and I'll drag you to the Mariana Trench!"
"CAPTAIN JACK!"
"Stop stop, Leo Kaijeo."
"We love you so much, Pilseung!"
"Pilseung, if you ever do that again, I'll never let you go off on your own ever again!"
"I'm sorry, guys," he apologized, feeling the tears coming up again. "I-I was stupid."
"Stupid indeed! Just... don't scare us like that again!"
"Go to therapy Pilseung-ah!"
"Get help, Pilseung! That mindset is not healthy!"
He was about to refuse, but stopped himself as he remembered what Swag had said. He took in a deep breath, and then said, "I-If that's what you think is best, let's do it."
Almost immediately, they all cheered and gave him a huge group hug which felt so warm and relieved. Even the usually reserved Silver Hawk and traditional Classic joined in.
He let the tears fall, and said, "I love you all..."
Swag was going to have a lasting impact on Pilseung, even though they had never met. Swag had changed his beliefs with his words, after all. The journey was not going to be easy, but he would do it, for the sake of Swag who was gone, and for all his loved ones. No matter how hard, he would make it.
That day, Swag saved Pilseung from his mental pain, just like how many people have been saved from death by their loved ones.
The pain was not gone, but it was going to stay as a memory of the day he regained his conviction.
