Part 1 of the End
It was a normal town, much to your surprise. No hanging tree as it came into sight. No old creepy mansions, no obvious signs that there was an evil witch in it's depths. A small, two block main street held the normal stores. A small mall was off to the right, a candle making factory at the edge of town.
An old fashioned diner was placed next to the town's main hotel, much to Dean's delight. "I bet it has amazing pies!" He exclaimed as he pulled up to the hotel, licking his lips in anticipation.
"Dean, we might not have time for pie," you started to say as the four of you climbed out of the car, stretching sore muscles that had been cramped up for too long.
"There's always time for pie!" Dean argued as Sam went in to get a hotel room.
"Dean, I agree with Y/N," Cas spoke up. "I could immediately feel the evil energy filling this entire town. She has poisoned it, and if we don't do something quick, it won't be just the book that we have to worry about."
Dean frowned, looking longingly at the diner's flashing neon pie, and for a moment you wondered if he was going to ignore everyone's warning to indulge his sweet tooth. "Afterwards," he promised himself just as Sam came out with a room key.
"So I think we have a problem," Sam spoke up. "I think the witch knows we're here."
"Of course she does. She's the most powerful witch I've ever come in contact with."
"Both of the owners are dead," Sam continued on. "Their faces blotchy and red, claw marks at their necks. No sign of strangulation though."
"We're still going to stay here?" You asked.
"There's no one else. And I don't plan on spending much time here, but we do need a homebase."
Sticking close to Dean, you made your way into the small hotel room. Two double beds were against one wall, covered with a gaudy red velvet cover. A red leather couch, ripped in more places than you could count was near the window, and the flickering light in the bathroom showed it wasn't in much better shape.
Ignoring the room, Sam sat down at the small table, opening his laptop. "We need to figure out where this witch is working from."
"I think that will be easy. With this much power, the plant life around her house will be shriveled up," Cas spoke up, standing by the window.
"She'll have to have a trap set up," you muttered, perching on the edge of the bed, wondering if it was going to fold in on you. "How do we know that she's not already coming after us?"
"I think she is," Cas said as he peered out the window. "I think you guys need to see this."
With those ominous words Sam and Dean both joined Cas at the window. You stayed behind, not wanting to see exactly how screwed you already were.
"Damn it," Dean sighed as he stared at the window. "They're spelled, aren't they?"
"I'm afraid so. I just don't know what they're going to do. If they're keeping watch, or if they'll actually come after us."
You finally gave in, moving to stand next to Dean who wrapped his arm around your waist. You could see the children, over a hundred of them lining the sidewalk, staring unblinkingly at your hotel window.
"That's creepy," you mumbled, cuddling deeper against Dean's side. "They're just children, and she probably doesn't care if they die or not."
"That's witches for you. I freaking hate witches!" Dean grumbled under his breath just as movement outside caught your attention. Two children came past the rest, standing in front as if they were generals ready to lead their armies to battle. In the boys arms was a leather bound book, holding it as if it was the most precious object in the world.
"Those must be the kids controlling our hunts!" You exclaimed. "If they're here, she has to be close!"
"I don't like this," Sam said. "How are we supposed to get to her with all these kids? I don't want to hurt kids!"
"Cas, is there something you can do?" You asked him while agreeing with Sam. It just wasn't right, using kids to fight your battles. But then again, this was a witch who had handed over one of the most evil books to a young boy.
"I could maybe get to one or two," Cas sighed. "But I don't think I could get to them all."
Leaving the three men to stare out the window, you started pacing the room, trying to come up with a plan. You were sitting ducks, ready for her to come in and kill you all. As you paced, you noticed the window in the small bathroom. About three feet wide, it was already propped slightly open, letting the cool breeze into your heated room.
Stepping into the bathroom, you peered out the window, ready to see more children on this side as well. But there was nothing more than a small alleyway with garbage cans. "Dean!" You called out.
Leaving Sam and Cas at the window, Dean joined you in the cramped bathroom, standing close behind you. "What's up?"
"I think I might have found a way out of here," you started to explain.
"Yeah, this could work," he mumbled, pushing on the window, surprised at how easy it opened. "I think we could sneak out of here, get to the witch."
"I don't think we should all go," you started to say, already feeling the argument Dean was ready to throw your way. "Dean, those children out front will no doubt realize it the moment we're all gone. They'll alert the witch, and we'll never get to her that way!"
"So what do you plan?" He asked, crossing his arms and waiting for the other shoe to drop.
"I think two people need to stay behind and keep the kids occupied. Maybe Cas, so he can try to save some of them. Try to get the book away from the boy. While the other two find the witch and kill her for good!"
"And let me guess. You want to stay behind with Cas while Sam and I run off?"
"Dean, you and Sam have a lot more experience killing those nasty monsters. I can deal with children. So please, let's not waste valuable time arguing about this."
Sighing, Dean rubbed his hand along his mouth. "Let's see what the other two have to say."
Following Dean outside, you could immediately see that more children had joined the others, filling the small parking lot. The boy holding the book was only ten feet away, his eyes red rimmed, his mouth in a snarl. "Y/N's come up with a plan. I don't like it, but I think it's the best we have."
You quickly began explaining your plan, knowing that it was probably the only one you would have. The kids outside were growing restless, and you knew the moment they realized you were all gone, so would the witch.
"It will work," Sam spoke. "My gun's already loaded with witch killing bullets. Y/N and Cas can keep up appearances, and we can finally get this over with."
Not muttering a word, Dean stalked over to his duffel bag, roughly going through it. "Sam," you started, pulling on the tall man's sleeve. "Keep an eye on him. Please?"
"Of course. You know he's going to do everything in his power to get back to you. Right?"
"I know. He doesn't like this plan, and I think he's scared of leaving me here."
"And I don't blame him. Just promise us that you and Cas aren't going to do anything stupid."
"Of course not," you assured him. Leaving them standing at the window, you went and wrapped your arms around Dean's waist.
"Dean, please be safe," you whispered as he turned, letting you nestle against his chest.
"It's you who I'm worried about," he answered back, reaching down to tilt your head up. "This feels like a trap. I'm afraid that once we're gone, you're going to get swarmed by those kids, and I'll never see you again."
"Cas and I can take care of ourselves," you assured him. "Just hurry up and kill that witch, and then there will be nothing else to worry about."
"Then we can finally go on that vacation I promised you. You and I alone. Sounds amazing," he spoke softly before pressing his lips to yours for a sweet, short kiss. "Sam, let's go!"
Leaving Cas at the window, Sam came to stand next to his brother, smiling down at you. "I'll watch out for him," he promised you. Taking his spot by Cas, you watched as the two large bodied men struggled to crawl through the window, trying to be as quiet as possible. Before you knew it they were gone, and you raced back to lock the window, wanting to make sure nothing could sneak back through.
Once again standing by Cas, you stared out at the children, who hadn't moved quite yet. They were eirly quite, their eyes unblinking, their hands in fists at their side. "Cas, do you think they're going to make a move?"
"I don't know," he answered. "I wonder what would happen if...,"
Leaving you at the window, he went to the door, opening it slightly. At once, the children turned their heads to look towards the door. Cas took a hesitant step out, and it was like a button had been pushed. Instantly the children raced forward, and Cas slammed his door shut. "That didn't work out well!" You yelled, your heart hammering fast as the little bodies slammed into the wall. Tiny little fists pounded on the glass, their eyes red rimmed and unblinking, a harsh scream coming from their lips as they tried to force their way inside. "Cas, what are we going to do now?"
Dean's POV
"I can't believe we just left Y/N and Cas back there," I muttered as we slipped through the alleyway. So far we hadn't been noticed, the children still watching the hotel window. "What if they decide to attack?"
"Cas and Y/N can handle themselves. And those kids weren't going to go away unless we killed the witch. So let's get this over with, and we can get you back to Y/N."
Rounding the corner onto one of the main streets, I immediately noticed the sleek black car parked on the side of the road. Nodding my head towards it, I quickly started to backup just as the rear door of the car opened. A woman, thin and tall stepped out of the car, wearing a velvet blood red dress that clung to her curves. Her ebony hair hung down her back, her lips shaded to match her dress.
"You boys are very smart, but I am a witch after all. There's no way you could beat me. Ever." She purred. With a snap of her fingers, Sam and I were being pulled towards her, unable to fight her magical pull.
