Marinette was late to school, as always. Luckily, she joined Alya, Rose and Juleka in time. But, like most of the time, Miss Bustier made an announcement.

'We had a few complaints from our students saying it was unfair how partners got picked, so Ms Mendeleiev and I decided that its the best if we pick out the groups.' she said, causing the whole class to be disappointed, 'So, the groups are: Group one is Chloe, Sabrina, Lila and Max. Group two is Marinette, Alya, Adrien and Nino. Group three is Ian, Mylene, Rose and Juleka. Kim, Alix and Nathaniel, you are the ones who didn't return a form to me, so you three will be staying with Ms Mendeliev during the day trip.'

Everyone cheers in excitement, except for Max, who is disgusted by the fact that he has to be in Chloe's group.

Alya turned to Marinette, who's the whole face a bright red. She was going to see Adrien shirtless! We can definitely agree that today was a dream for Marinette. Alya had a brilliant idea.

'Why don't we split up into pairs? We will still be responsible for each other, but it will way easier.' said Alya, giving a little nudge to her best friend.

'That sounds great!' the boys agreed.

'Nino, what would you say if we worked together as a pair?' Alya asked brightly, and Nino started blushing slightly.

'S-sure, why not?' he uttered as he ran his fingers through his dark brown hair.

Adrien turned to Marinette, they were both shy, but Adrien was the first one to say the first word.

'I guess we are partners now.' he said, smiling kindly at the girl. This charmed Marinette even more, causing her difficulties to speak, so she just nodded.

The whole class went outside, where they waited for the buses to arrive. Marinette was still feeling really down about the bikini incident. Alya felt sorry for Marinette, so as a gift, she brought her a beautiful red and black polka dotted bikini. Marinette froze. This was a very nice gesture from her friend, but a Ladybug outfit!? We all know what the problem was, this was too risky, but Marinette didn't want to hurt her friend's feelings, so she accepted the gift.

'The Ladybug outfit will look amazing on you Mari! Especially with them earrings, they look exactly like Ladybug's do. Where did you get them from?' she asked.

Marinette started to panic. Did she knew that Marinette was secretly Ladybug!? Don't get wrong, Marinette adored her friend, but when it came to Ladybug or Ladyblog withs she completely gone mad and sometimes even lost her mind. This was a hard to deal with.

'Oh, these?' Marinette said nervously, 'I got them from my aunt, 2 years ago, but I only started wearing them recently.'

'Well, ask your aunt for me where she got them from, alright?' Alya begged.

'Actually, I think she got them from China.' Marinette said, trying to be convincing and trying to escape the situation. But what she noticed was Adrien staring right down at her earrings. It's like he already figured out her identity. But how could he know what a miraculous stone looks like? Is she just over reacting, She was sure he has no idea that she is Ladybug. Or has he?

Mari couldn't stop thinking about Adrien the whole time they were travelling to the beach (which was 2 hours by the way), but not only talking about daydreaming about Adrien but the fact, why was he staring at her earrings...

When the four got there they split up into the groups. Adrien and Marinette, Nino and Alya went their separate ways. Adrien carried a picnic bag with him, and a picnic mat too. They also got changed into our swimming suits, in the toilets of course.

Alya was right, the bikini absolutely looked perfect on Marinette, she looked so stunning, she was able to charm every single boy nearby. And Adrien? He was just gorgeous. He was so handsome, all the girls fainted when they looked at him. He was perfect, and he was the ideal idea of what a boy is meant to look like without his shirt on.

But to be honest she was worried about people finding out her identity. But one thing that cleared Marinette's worries away was the fact that Adrien didn't leave her side, not even for one second. It seemed like he was protecting her... was he? But what from? The other boys?? She could only hope that this was true.

Chloe jumped on top of Adrien. Adrien tried his best to get her off from him politely but in a language which she clearly understood he doesn't like her or want her. More like with disgust.

'What do you mean by GET OFF ME CHLOE!?' Chloe screamed in Adrien's ears, causing him to almost go deaf.

'Chloe,' he pleads, 'Would you please stop shouting?'

Chloe was wearing a yellow and black striped bikini, which I got to admit, it looked stunning on her. Marinette bets it was expensive. Everything that Chloe wore was expensive in some way. Starting from her glamorous blue eyeshadow and nude lip gloss to her white dress shoes.

Marinette stands nervously in her Ladybug bikini. As if someone is about to discover her secret. As if this day is the last day that the shy girl behind Ladybug's mask is unknown. She can't help but think, how would Alya react to the news? She would never forgive Marinette for keeping a secret that is as big as this one away from her. And Adrien? True, Adrien might want to become closer friends with her, but she knew that was only because she was Ladybug, not because he liked Marinette for who she really was. That is what she guessed would happen if he ever found out. She would be heartbroken.

Chloe furiously crossed her arms. She was clearly not impressed that the way she planned today didn't go her way.

'Look, Chlo, I can't really talk right now.' he looked around in panic, trying to search for an excuse that he could use to get away from the girl. His eyes fall on Marinette as he sees her, his face brights up in excitement.

'But Adrink-' she got interrupted by the boy.

'Actually, Marinette and I were just talking about going for a swim. Are you coming then, Mari?' he said, giving her a playful wink.

Marinette starts shaking, but luckily she manages to nod to him, so he gets an answer. Adrien Agreste winked at her!

Chloe started shouting and screaming in anger, but fortunately before Miss Bustier realised this, Sabrina dragged her away and calmed her down. The two sat down for a picnic and started talking about the newest fashion designs.

Nino and Alya were also settling down, getting things ready for a perfect picnic. The two turned to Marinette and Adrien just before they started heading towards the clear ocean.

'Hey, you two, where are you guys going?' Alya said rather embarrassingly, smiling down at the two as if they been making out for hours.

'Oh, we are just going for a swim. The Atlantic ocean looks serene today, doesn't it?' Adrien laughed, obviously understanding what Alya is really saying. The thing that shocked Marinette the most is that he didn't even try to deny that all of that didn't happen.

'A swim in the ocean. Sounds amazing, am I right Nino?' Alya said, trying to get Nino involved with this conversation so it wouldn't be as awkward for Marinette.

'Would you guys like to come with us?' Adrien asked politely, trying to be as friendly as he can.

'We would-'Nino tried to answer first, but Alya interrupted him.

'ACTUALLY, I think we will finish our picnic first. But if you wish, afterwards we could join you guys. Do you agree, Nino?' Alya asked him, making sure she didn't sound rude but still making sure that her best friend had the perfect chance to tell Adrien her feelings about him. Marinette obviously knew what Alya was trying to do, it's not like she was trying to hide this fact. To be honest, she was more open about it than she meant to be. She was an open book that everyone could easily read if they wanted to. Marinette appreciated her friend's help, but she felt sorry for Nino who had disappointment all over his face, he unmistakably wanted to come with them.

'Yeah.'he said, looking down the floor.

Marinette somehow knew that Adrien felt the same way. Thankful but also guilty that his friend felt differently about the thing.

'Nino, are you sure you don't want to come with us. You can if you want.' Adrien finally asked, making Marinette feel better and also breaking an uncomfortable silence.

'Yeah, I am sure.' he says, trying his best to smile. Marinette smiles back at him, and so does Adrien. They decided to go back to their picnic place, which is under a shade of a huge tree. It was the perfect place where the pair could easily avoid the burning sun. They decided to put some sun cream on, you know just for safety, and to bring their towels, and their slippers. They dropped their stuff onto the beach, which slightly sunk into the soft sand.

Before Marinette could think, Adrien grabbed her hand and together they ran into the ocean. Marinette started immediately started blushing about this. We were so nervous and shy, but for once in her life, she wanted to leave that shy girl behind. She wanted to enjoy herself, so she grabbed some water from the ocean with her palms and threw it on Adrien. It hit Adrien's hair, causing the fluffy perfection to turn into something wet and damp. I guess she enjoyed herself a little too much. At first, Adrien seemed kinda shocked but then he started heavily laughing. He hit the water, which splashed right onto Marinette, who felt better right away. The two ran further into the ocean, feet couldn't reach the ground. But as Marinette said earlier, she is not a great swimmer. The further she swam, the more difficult this became. Adrien, blind to Marinette's situation, kept splashing the girl with the ocean's salty water.

The two enjoyed themselves and had a great time until, well Marinette couldn't swim anymore. She couldn't keep herself up. She tried to hold her breath, she tried to float, but her body was too heavy. It was like her body being eaten by the water. When Adrien realised she was having troubles swimming, it was too late. Marinette could feel herself sink more and further into the deep, salty water. She kept her eyes closed, wishing she would be saved. She stopped breathing for a split second. Her body seemed to become one with the water. After a while, she couldn't even feel her weight.

She could feel hands grabbing her by her waist, pulling her up from the water. She felt the fresh breeze of the air. She felt the smell of the open, and she was able to feel her legs dangling in the water. But Marinette didn't open her eyes, even if she tried to, she just couldn't. It was like someone put superglue on her eyelids, causing them to stick together.

Mari was expecting something to happen but what she didn't expect was a pair of soft lips pressing onto hers. That was the moment when she opened her eyes wide open and found her crush, Adrien Agreste kissing her. It kinda felt like Adrien was bringing her back to life. Like Adrien was bringing her back from the dead. The kiss ended after a few seconds. She looked into Adrien's jade green eyes, which were full of worry and concern.

This was the moment when Marinette realised that Adrien saved her. He kissed her. Yes, Adrien Agreste kissed her, on the lips. Adrien Agreste was worried about her, he cared about her. Marinette realised then that Adrien was holding her, he was lifting her up. She could her feel that her cheeks were flushing. Adrien smiled at her, in a shy and nervous but worried and caring way. That kinds smile of him, she thought.

'Are you alright, M'Lady?' he asked, in a mischievous but perfect voice.

That's when the truth hit Marinette. He was Chat Noir. Adrien Agreste was Chat Noir. He was her Chat Noir. He loved her, and only her all along. He was the boy behind the cat's mask. He was the boy who flirted with her every single day. He was the boy she kissed on last Valentine's day. And Chat Noir was the boy she fell in love with. Chat Noir was the one she was nervous about, he was the one who she couldn't talk to.

'You are Chat Noir.' she replied, in a speechless but sweet-toned voice. She felt as if she was in a romance movie. As if she was Cinderella and her prince just returned her glass slipper to her feet. She actually felt quite relieved. She felt quite relieved since he was starting to choose between who she loved most, Chat Noir or Adrien Agreste. Now she can choose both.

'And, you are Ladybug.' he grinned, caressing her cheek as he was brushing her wet fringe out of her eyes, 'I am glad you are M'Lady, Marinette. I couldn't hope for anyone better.' he whispered, planting another kiss on her lips.

They heard shouting from the beach, to spot Alya and Nino screaming over the fact that they kissed.

'I guess, we should better go.' he laughs, putting Marinette down, as they swam back to the beach.

This is when Marinette knew, this is not the end. This is a fresh, new start for them, for them together. This is just the beginning. After all, this was the best day she could ever wish for. The day she kissed Adrien Agreste and the day she fell in love with Chat Noir. The day she told the only person she truly trusted her biggest ever secret. And the day Adrien Agreste and Chat Noir became her boyfriend.
