VI - When you put your body on mine (Song #1 : When I saw you)

Style : Mix between pop and funk, with a modern twist, featuring groovy basslines, rhythmic guitar strums, and energetic drums

"I am sorry Rain, that you could not debut this time. However, we have an offer for you. You are one of the best dancers we have seen in a long time. Would you be interested in staying on in the company as a choreographer?" Rain stared at the Director of Magika Entertainment. "May I think about it Khun?" he asked, and the man, Ryan, nodded. "Of course Rain. Take all the time you need. Our offer is open-ended. My partner is a huge fan," he said, smiling. Rain smiled back. "Thank you Khun. I am grateful for this opportunity. I will get back to you as soon as possible," he said. "Okay. You have my number. You can send me a LINE message, or even call me. No worries," Ryan said. "I will take your leave now," Rain said.

Rain had just reached the door when Ryan called him. "Yes Khun?" he said. "What were you doing before you decided to train to become an idol?" Ryan asked. "I am studying dance is Chula, Faculty of Performing Arts, Final Year," Rain replied. "In that case, you can consider this an extended internship Rain, and later, join us permanently, with a great salary package. I am very serious about it, so please think carefully about this proposition," Ryan said. Rain was a bit shocked, but he nodded, then left. Sky was waiting downstairs, knowing that Rain would hear his results today. "So?" he asked, the moment he saw Rain. Rain shook his head, and Sky immediately pulled him into a hug. "You okay?" he asked, after he pulled back. "Surprisingly, yes," Rain said. "They offered me the post of a choreographer." "Wow! That's awesome baby!!" Sky said. "I should take it up?" Rain asked. "Of course! It's a dream come true. And honestly Rain, we both know that you were not very keen on becoming an idol. Stuff like that generally stresses you out. You just literally couldn't say no when they scouted you out," Sky said, shrugging.

"Sometimes I forget that you know me better than I know myself," Rain said, shaking his head and laughing. "Well, the same goes for you, right?" Sky said. Rain nodded. "Cool then. I will call them in a couple of days and let them know. No point in showing how desperate we are," he said. "Let's go get ice-cream now that you don't have to practice singing anymore," Sky said, pulling him out of the building, as they both made their way to their favourite store. Two days later, Rain called up Ryan and confirmed that he would join as choreographer the coming week. Sky and Rain did a little shopping as Rain would require some trackpants and tees to teach in. He also invested in a pair of shoes, as his old ones were almost run down. Sky told him to invest in one of the better pairs, knowing that this was something long-term for sure.

Phayu was frustrated as fuck. He had been a performer for quite some time now, but he was totally fed up of all the mediocre stuff that he was being asked to do. His dance routines were boring as hell, and he was unable to concentrate on any of them. Over and above that, his choreographer was so insipid that Phayu just wanted to bash his head in. Which is why he was currently sitting and glaring at Saifah, who was not only his brother, but also his manager, and Pai, his best friend and bodyguard. "You know that glaring at us is not going to help you in any way, right?" Fah said, glaring right back. "You are my manager dammit! Why am I stuck with such an asshole as my choreographer? He sucks balls!" Phayu said. "Yu, calm down. I am sure we can fix this issue, you know that," Pai said.

"It feels like I am going into a rut. There is no excitement, no passion, nothing. Even fans are starting to question what I am doing. You guys have seen the comments in all the media sites. My body feels like I am not doing anything right. He is doing everything run of the mill, and it is not tailored for me. Am I supposed to feel this shitty?" Phayu asked, feeling bad about his ranting, but knowing that he had to get it all out of his chest before it became worse. "We know. And I have sent word out to P'Ryan. He will definitely work something out for us, for you, okay?" Fah said, trying to placate him. Phayu just shook his head and stalked out, leaving a very worried and stressed Fah and Pai behind. "Thank God we are going back on Sunday. Monday, I am sure P'Ryan has promised to find us someone," Pai said. Fah nodded. "Any more of this whining, and I might just kill him myself, even if it means I am jailed for fratricide," Fah said, frowning.

Monday couldn't come sooner. Phayu strode into the offices of Magika, intending to lay it all out to P'Ryan. He was dressed in his trademark jeans and tee, mask, glasses and bucket hat in place. Fah and Pai followed him, hoping he would not get over agitated and say things he should not. "You guys go ahead and meet me in P'Ryan's office. I need to use the washroom. I will be there in 5," Phayu said. Pai and Fah nodded, letting Phayu go. He quickly walked towards the restrooms on that floor. On his way back, he crossed a closed dance room, where he could hear some really sexy beats. He wondered who was practicing, thinking it was some female idol. He was about to cross the room, but curiosity got the better of him.

He opened the door, just to catch a glimpse, and stopped dead at the sight in front of him. One of the most beautiful boys that he had ever seen, danced sexily (video linked above), his hips moving in a sultry way, a way that Phayu had never seen before. His eyes were riveted to the movement, and he could feel himself growing hard. The boy was dressed in joggers, laying low on his hips, and a loose t-shirt that he had tied up, leaving a part of his back bare, where a tattoo was clearly visible. Although Phayu couldn't really see the actual design, the idea that it was there was sexy enough. Phayu's breath hitched as the boy rolled his body in tune with the beats. He couldn't get enough of the boy, but he was shaken out of his fantasies when he heard his brother and best friend's voices coming along from somewhere. He quickly but quietly shut the door and took in deep breaths, praying for his boner to go down.

He knew he was not a saint, but he was not promiscuous either, and always made sure he chose partners who would be as discrete as him. But even he could admit that he never had such a visceral reaction to anyone in this life. Before he could take stock of the ricocheting feelings inside of him, Fah and Pai spotted him. "Yu! What the hell Phi Chaai? P'Ryan will not wait forever. We still have to find you a choreographer. Or have you forgotten?" Fah asked, as Pai nodded beside him. Phayu shook his head. "I haven't forgotten. And I have found the one who will help me," he said, looking pointedly at the door he had just closed. "Who? Who is there?" Pai asked, about to open the door, but Phayu stopped him. "I have seen him. That's all you need to know. Let's go," he said, walking off. Fah and Pai looked at each other and then at the door they were standing outside.

"I want the dancer in Room 7 to be my choreographer," Phayu announced, as soon as he walked into the Director's office. "Rain?" Ryan asked, looking up, completely surprised. "So his name is Rain?" Phayu asked, smirking. Pai and Fah looked at each other again. That smirk on Phayu didn't bode well for anyone. "Rain is new. He just joined today Phayu. You need a more seasoned dancer teaching you. You are one of our most senior artists," Ryan said, looking harried. "And what was so great about the last 'experienced' choreographer that you foisted on me?" Phayu asked, quirking a brow, putting air quotes around the word experienced. Ryan sat back, unable to answer. "So maybe someone new would be a breath of fresh air?" Fah said, trying to get Ryan to agree. Ryan looked thoughtful. "I was about to assign Rain to one of our newer groups. I will tell him he has to schedule you in too," he said. "No," Phayu said. "No?" Ryan asked, confused. "No, he will be exclusively my choreographer," Phayu said, his mouth set in mulish lines.

Ryan stared at Phayu. That was a first. While Phayu was a demanding artist, he was mostly very cool about who he worked with. And never too stubborn about such things. So it was coming quite as a shock to Ryan about how Phayu was insisting that Rain would work with him alone. "But we don't have too many choreographers on board. Having Rain solely work with you would mean that we would be spreading ourselves thin Phayu," Ryan said. "Don't worry. I will give you back the obsolete dinosaur you gave me in the first place. You can use him for your precious boybands. I am taking Rain," Phayu said, calmly, not batting an eyelid. It was obvious to Ryan that Phayu was set on this, so he just sighed. The man was a veritable money making machine. Everything he touched turned to gold. The number of endorsements he had alone could run the company for at least 10 more years. Which meant that there was no way he could afford to antagonise his biggest star. So he only sighed and nodded. "Okay. Let me call him. You can meet each other and get acquainted," he said, picking up his phone.

Rain wiped his hands on his joggers, before opening the door of the Director's office. Khun Ryan had told him that he would be given a schedule today, and that most likely, he would be a choreographer for an upcoming idol group. If he did a good job, the growth he would have would be phenomenal. He could rise with them and make a mark for himself in the world. He knocked and heard the muted 'come in'. He entered, and the first person he saw was not Khun Ryan, as he had expected, but someone else. Someone who simply commandeered the whole room. Rain could not take his eyes off the man. He was big; both tall and broad, had deep-set black eyes that simply felt like could pierce the soul, his nose perfectly sharp, a mouth that surely belonged to angels, because that mole on the top could be nothing but a mark put by the Gods themselves.

Rain realised he was staring at the man when he quirked a brow and stared right back at him, as if they were the only two people in the room. Both of them were equally startled when someone cleared their throat. "Rain, are you okay?" Ryan asked, looking surprised. Rain jumped back a bit. "Umm.. yes.. yes.. k.. Khun Ryan," he said, stuttering a bit. Phayu smirked again, knowing exactly the effect he had had on Rain, but he kept quiet, wanting Ryan to do the introductions. "So Rain, I called you in here to tell you that although, originally, we had a plan to put you in charge of an upcoming boyband, that plan is now cancelled," Ryan said. Rain looked shocked, and his eyes filled with tears. Was this the end? He had quit all his other side jobs for this one, and now.. But he kept quiet, wanting to see where this was going.

Phayu looked at the boy's eyes filling with tears and was pissed as fuck. Why the hell had Ryan started like that? The boy looked devastated and Ryan didn't even realise. "Rain, Ryan really did not put that well. What he meant was that you will be working exclusively with me," he said, glaring at Ryan. Ryan gulped. "Yes. Yes. Rain, this is Khun Phayu. I am sure you must have heard of him," he said. Rain nodded. "Phayu is in need of a choreographer because he feels his routines are getting boring and mundane. He wants something fresh. So I thought, since you are new, you would be an excellent addition to his team," Ryan continued. "So.. I would be one of his choreographers?" Rain asked, feeling sad. There went his chance of being known. If he was going to be part of a team of... "No Rain, you will be my only choreographer," Phayu said, smiling gently at him. Rain looked a bit shocked at that. "So will you take up the job Nong?" Pai asked, looking side eyed at Phayu, who seemed like he was waiting with bated breath too. "Okay Khun, I will," Rain said, and both Fah and Pai could see the sheer relief and joy on Phayu's face, and both wondered what he had seen in the boy.

"We can start from tomorrow Khun," Rain said, after they had stepped out of the Director's office. "It's Phi," Phayu said. "I beg your pardon?" Rain asked, looking a bit confused. Pai and Fah also looked quite surprised as they stared at Phayu. He had never ever done that, given someone permission to call him as Phi. And suddenly there was this.. this boy.. and it felt like Phayu had undergone a complete makeover. "You must call me Phi. This is my brother Saifah. He is also my manager. This is Prapai, my best friend. He is my bodyguard and takes care of things when we are outside, locations and the such," Phayu said. Rain waiied to all three of them. "Phi," he said, politely. "It's nice to meet you Rain," Pai said, putting his hand around Rain's shoulder. Phayu picked it up and pushed Pai away. "Rain and I are going to practice," he said pointedly, as he took Rain's hand and walked away. Pai and Fah looked at each other. "Already? Weren't they supposed to start from tomorrow? And are we going to be facing a PR nightmare again?" Pai asked. "Your guess is as good as mine when it comes to Phi Chaai," Fah said, sighing.

"So Phi. Could I ask you what styles of dance you are comfortable with? So that I can plan some routines in your comfort zone?" Rain asked. When Rain had come to Ryan's room, his t-shirt had been pulled down, but the moment he had reached his room, he had tied it back up, giving Phayu an unfettered view of his front and back. And his brain stuttered to a complete halt. If the back had been sexy, with that tattoo, which was, surprisingly a storm cloud, the dreamcatcher in the navel was definitely a punch in the gut. The boy was simply stunning, his ashy blond hair braided back and then pulled into a ponytail, sharp grey eyes, which he had highlighted very lightly, slightly upturned nose, and the most beautiful lips, pink and luscious. Phayu could feel all the synapses in his head firing and it took Rain waving his hands violently in his face before he came sharply back to earth. "Umm.. what?" he asked, just staring at Rain. "Is everything okay Phi?" Rain asked, his face a study in confusion.

"Yes?" Phayu mentally facepalmed. "Yes, yes! I am fine. Absolutely fine. What were you saying?" "I asked you if there is any particular style of dance that you are comfortable with? I can plan your routine around that," Rain said. "No Nong. I don't want to do anything that I have already been doing. There is no spark left in those or my music. I want you to challenge me," Phayu said. "Oh. Umm.. is there in something new that you are interested in trying out?" Rain asked. Kissing you, making love to you, Phayu thought, but didn't say it out loud. "I am planning to launch a new album. At least 4 to 5 new songs. I want to do different styles of dance on each of them both in the MVs and on stage," Phayu said. Rain looked at him consideringly. "And do you have the music to those songs?" he asked. "Kind of. Although the first song is ready in my head. I am still setting the others up," Phayu said. "Well in that case Phi, we will start of with some warm-up, some regular routines, and once you have some idea of your music, then maybe we can start putting steps to them?" Rain asked. "That works for me," Phayu said, with a bright smile on his face.

It hit me like a spotlight, bright and wild,
The way you smiled stopped the world for a while.
I didn't know your name, but I felt the spark,
Lighting up the corners of my quiet heart.

Now I'm spinning in my head,
Caught in something you said.
No one else here, but I see you clear—
Oh, what have you done?

I'm dancing alone, but it feels like a crowd,
Heartbeats are booming, the music's so loud.
Just me and the echoes of when I saw you,
I'm lost in the rhythm, my world's brand new.
Oh-oh-oh, love at first sight,
Oh-oh-oh, you're all that feels right!

The room's still empty, but it's filling with light,
Every step I take feels perfectly right.
I'm painting pictures of the life we'll write,
It all started when I saw you that night.

I'm twirling through the air,
Like you're already there.
Every move's for you, it's so brand-new—
Oh, what have you done?

I'm dancing alone, but it feels like a crowd,
Heartbeats are booming, the music's so loud.
Just me and the echoes of when I saw you,
I'm lost in the rhythm, my world's brand new.
Oh-oh-oh, love at first sight,
Oh-oh-oh, you're all that feels right!

This room may be empty, but my heart's not the same,
Your shadow's dancing with me, whispering your name.
If I could reach you, I'd hold you so tight,
But for now, I'll keep dreaming of you tonight.

When I saw you... yeah, when I saw you,
Love lit the room, and I'm dancing through.
