IV - Enemies to Lovers (The Trick or Treat version) 7/8

Khun looked down his glasses at the salon they were standing in front of. "If it wasn't for our bunny, I would never be here! How tacky! People use such places?" he asked, sounding absolutely disgusted. Pete and Porche looked at each other and shook their heads. Only Khun! But they were willing to do what needed to be done. "Let's go," Khun said, leading his way in. Everyone followed him quietly. As soon as they entered, they saw Rain's so called mother and sister, sitting in the lobby, waiting their turn. "Is that them?" he asked, sotto voice. Chay nodded. "Yep," he said, smile sharpening. "Well my little boba, you know what to do," Khun said, smirking. Pete sighed. "Is this really necessary Phi?" he asked. "They hurt our bunny. Do you really think we should let them go?" Khun asked. Porche and Pete looked at each other again, then shook their heads in tandem. "Then let's do this!" Khun said, maniacal grin in place.

Rain and Sky were poring over the blueprints along with Khun Aroon, the head of the construction crew when someone called Rain's name. He turned around and Nathan straightened off the wall against which he was leaning. Tyme didn't move, but it was obvious that he was also on high alert. "P'Uea?" Rain asked, sounding confused. "What are you doing here?" Sky had also moved closer to Rain, and Khun Aroon, who was very fond of Rain, stepped up just behind him. Uea marched upto Rain and slapped him across the face. The whole crew came to a standstill as Rain reeled backwards. Nathan was immediately in front of Rain and Tyme in front of Sky. But Rain stepped to the side. However, Nathan moved in such a way that Uea couldn't get to Rain and he could stop anything else from happening. "You bastard! Are you the one who got dad put into jail? What the hell did we even do to you?" Uea screamed.

Rain stared at him for a few moments and started laughing. He laughed so hard that tears came from his eyes. Everyone, including Sky and Uea stared at him in shock. "Let me take your rather shitty questions in order. First of all, no, I did not get your father in jail. If he is there, he probably deserves it. Because he is an asshole of the finest degree. Two, as to what you did to me? Hmm.. where do I begin? Your father and mother did everything right for you and your sister. What did I get? Indifference? Apathy? Emotional abuse? I agree that they, or you, never beat me. But if it hadn't been for Yayi, I would have never received food, clothes or education, not even a roof over my head. The moment I turned 18, I was asked to leave the house, and when you all got to know that Yayi had left more than half her fortune for me, you all wanted me to come back and live with you. You wanted me to give you what was mine. When I refused to do so, you, who is supposed to be my brother, got people to beat me up. If it hadn't been for Sky, I would have been dead in some dirty alley somewhere. That is what you did to me. Are we done here? Nathan, Tyme, get this man out of my sight," Rain said, tuning away.

"He slapped you Khun Rain. Khun Venice will be upset with us," Nathan said, talking to Rain, but looking at Uea, who had the common sense to look petrified. "Then you can do whatever you want. Just make sure there is no blood on your hands," Sky said, as he pulled Rain away to ice his cheek before he could say anything. But they both stopped short when applause broke out. The whole damn crew was clapping their hands and sending him thumbs up signs as they appreciated him taking a stand for himself. Sky shook his head. "P'Phayu is right. How did I never notice what a bunny porcupine you are?" he asked, grinning as he dragged Rain off. Rain was smiling at everyone as he waved and left. "I couldn't afford to do anything in college because I was on scholarship. It's not that I needed it, but it was easier to just let people think they had you cowered. But I had my ways of doing things," Rain said, smirking, as Sky put a cold pack on his cheek and quirked a brow. "Do I even want to know your shenanigans?" he asked. "Well, ask me no questions and you shall be told no lies," Rain said cheekily. But before Sky could reply, Rain's phone rang. "That is going to Tonkhao," he said resignedly, even before looking at it.

Sky snatched it up before Rain could pick up his phone. Rain had been right. It was Tonkhao. But he was determined to put an end to this bullshit then and there. He had had enough. He put the phone on speaker and before Tonkhao could get a word in, Sky started off. "Listen here you bitch. Rain is not available and never will be. If you dare call him again for any of your fucking bullshit, you will see a side of me you don't want to. And remember that you all are nothing but dirt. You don't deserve to know Rain, so it's best you stay away. I am saying this for your own good," he said and cut the call. When he looked up, he found Rain staring at him. "What?" he asked, then flinched when Rain raised his hand in the universal sign of peace. "Don't bite my head off Mama Bear," he said. The two of them stared at each other and then dissolved into gales of laughter.

Phayu banged the table as he looked at his phone and everyone jumped a bit. "You okay Yu?" Fah asked, surprised at the feral look on his twin's face. "That bastard went to Ratchaburi and slapped Rain!" Phayu said, his anger skyrocketing. "Who? What?? What the hell?" Pete asked, as it clicked. "It seems like putting their father in jail was enough. I want that whole family out and destroyed before they can touch Rain again," Phayu growled. Kinn put a hand on his nephew's shoulder. "I promise you Ven. It will be done," he said, as Vegas nodded. Whatever differences Vegas and Kinn had with each other in the past, one thing had always united them; family. The very family that would have been once torn apart by their fathers. But if Porche and Pete had taught them something, it had been that no matter what happened, they had to put family first. "What do you want to do lu?" Vegas asked. "Get that man out of jail, and then get the family together. Then I would like to pay them a visit," Phayu said, sounding exactly like the son of Vegas would!

"I am pretty sure P'Phayu is upto something," Rain said, as he and Sky dressed for their work in jeans and tees, with boots. Their hard hats were in the car, and it was another day of being smack dab in the centre of construction zone central. But the resort was coming along well, and if everything stayed on schedule as it should, they would be ready to open it to public just before the New Year. Rain sometimes could not believe that he had ushered in this one with a boyfriend and a beautiful loving family beside him, and getting the resort ready to celebrate another one would be hell of a gift for everyone. "Why do you think so?" Sky asked. "He sounded cagey on the phone yesterday, and refused to do video call, saying he was a bit occupied. We have been together almost 5 months, and he had never ever said that," Rain said. "Now that you mention it, P'Pai sounded he was too busy. He is never ever too busy to talk to me," Sky said, pensively. "Have we stayed away too long from them?" Rain asked, one brow quirked as he regarded Sky. "Maybe we should put Aroon in charge for a while and drive back for the weekend," Sky said. "It's almost Valentine's Day. Why don't we give the whole crew off? We are well within our schedule. A break will do the team good," Rain asked. Sky nodded. "I am in," he said.

They were met with resounding shouts and everyone seemed excited. Rain and Sky decided to surprise everyone, so they didn't call beforehand, and made sure they swore Nathan and Tyme to secrecy as well, threatening them with job loss and pay cut to keep them in line. But a completely silent house met them when they walked in. Not a single person was around. At first they thought everyone must have stepped out for various jobs or meetings, but when they realised that even the bodyguards were missing, they started panicking a bit. "Where do you think all of them went?" Sky asked, looking ready to ride to any kind of rescue. Rain simply turned around and pinned Nathan and Tyme with a glare. "Find out where everyone is without telling them we are here," he said. Tyme immediately took out his phone and began to type. "They are in the basement Khun Rain," he said, looking up. "Basement? What is there in the basement?" Sky asked, as he and Rain looked confused at each other. Rain shook his head and both of them made their way downstairs, followed by their guards.

They stopped stock still at the sight that met their eyes. Rain's entire family was hung from the ceiling and while it did not look like they had been harmed in any manner, they did not look like they were in good condition either. And what the hell had happened to his mom and sister's hair? It looked like it had been partly shorn off and was dyed the most alarming shade of orange. How the hell had that happened? He nearly snorted at the sight of his arrogantly well-kept mother, but could not really bring himself to dredge up some pity for her. The whole family and most of the bodyguards stood around while Phayu walked around them, twirling a knife in his hands. Although they could not hear a word of what was being said, it was obvious by the crazy wheeling of four pairs of eyes that Phayu was not having a gentle conversation either. "Phi?" Rain whispered, but somehow, his voice carried, and Phayu and the whole family whirled around. Phayu felt his heart drop in his boots at the appalled expression on Rain's face. He knew that Rain knew he was Mafia, but what exactly he did? This was definitely not the way he wanted his lover to find out. Rain turned around and walked out, Sky hot on his heels.

"Did you know about this?" Rain asked, and Sky shook his head. "Well, we know they are in the Mafia. They are the Theerpanayakuls after all," Sky said. Rain nodded. It was silent until Phayu and Pai rushed out. "We need to talk Phi," Rain said, effectively silencing Phayu when he turned around and walked up the stairs. As soon as Phayu stepped inside, Rain closed the door and slammed the older man against it as he took his mouth in a filthy kiss, all lips, teeth and tongue. "Baby?" Phayu asked, when they both came up for air. "No one has ever done something like this for me Phi," Rain said, as he kept his forehead on Phayu's chest, not wanting the older man to see his tears. "No one has cared enough to take a stand on my behalf, love me to the point of madness. I dreamed of having a love like that, but I knew I was doomed to disappointment, so I threw myself in work, trying to find solace in the fact that at least that would not leave me ever. How did I ever get so lucky to find you Phi?" Rain's voice hitched and Phayu immediately pulled back, shocked to see Rain crying.

"Baby, please don't cry!" Phayu said, feeling helpless as he wiped Rain's tears. "These are happy tears Phi. I promise. I want to thank you for never giving up on me, and for giving me you and such a wonderful family Phi. I love you P'Phayu," Rain said. Phayu reared back, shock clear on his face as he stared down at his boy. He took a deep breath before joining his forehead to Rain's. "I love you too baby boy. Today, tomorrow and forever!" he said. He had been waiting for this day, when Rain would open up his heart to him. He had told Rain that he loved him, but had never expected a reply, never forced one. So hearing Rain's confession was a soothing balm on his soul. His heart felt as if was full to bursting and he was having a hard time controlling his emotions.

"Are you okay Rain?" Pete asked, smirking, as they all sat for dinner, a very longtime later. Rain and Phayu bore clear marks of what had transpired when Phayu had followed Rain out, but teasing everyone was part of the family agenda as always.Rain blushed. "I am quite fine Pa," he said, smirking right back, despite turning red as a tomato. He was too happy at that moment to take offence at anything. "But I have a question Pa." Pete nodded. "Go ahead Rainbow," he said. "What is going to happen to them?" Rain asked, looking around the table. No one had a single doubt about who he was talking. "What do you want to happen to them Rainy boy?" Vegas asked. Rain sat silent, looking thoughtful. Phayu put a hand on his, grounding him. "I just want them out of my life forever Dad. I don't care about anything else," Rain said finally. "Dead or alive?" Kim asked, raising a brow. Rain quietly nodded. "They never cared for me. They were never my family Uncle Kim. They only looked for me when their needs had to be fulfilled. So no. Dead or alive makes no difference. I just don't want to see them," he said. "Then it will be done.Either ways, you will never see them again. And that's a Theerpanayakul promise to you son," Kinn said, his tone final!
