Naughty Krishna and the Bookworm

Once upon a time, a little boy named Krishna lived with his parents. He was very naughty and took great pleasure in scribbling on anything and everything with his crayons. He did not stop scribbling even when his parents and teachers scolded and beat him for it.

One day, his uncle who visited them gifted him a book.

"Krishna, you should not scribble on this book. This is a magical book. If you scribble on it, the book will punish you," he said. As usual, Krishna did not listen and after his uncle left, took his black crayon and started scribbling on it.

When he was scribbling over a worm drawn on a page, the worm came alive. It was bright green in colour, had orange stripes and blue eyes. Many stars twinkled around it wherever it moved. Krishna was scared. He threw the book away, ran and hid behind his mother.

"My name is Bookworm and I am going to eat all your crayons and your favourite stories," the worm said and ate all of Krishna's crayons and also the stories in all his favourite story books. All his story books were blank and his favourite stories were inside the worm's stomach.

Krishna cried and requested the worm to stop eating his crayons and stories.

"Will you promise that you will not scribble everywhere?" the worm asked.

"Yes, Bookworm. I promise." Krishna said.

"Will you also promise me that you will be a good boy and obey your parents?" it asked.

"Yes, Bookworm. I promise. Please don't eat my favourite stories," Krishna pleaded.

The worm became happy and returned all the crayons to Krishna and wrote all the stories it ate in the books. It then went back to its page and became a drawing once again.

From that day on, Krishna did not scribble on the walls or books and remained a good boy.
