Chapter 4: Fallen Child
I'm going to need your help with something... I'll tell you about it within this story. Sorry to spring this on you...
So, after you left, I traveled to Whistlingwillow. It's a town hidden in the forest to the west of here. It doesn't have relations with many places, so, luckily, there aren't repercussions for what I did. I doubt anyone from any other town has found the place yet. I kind of went berserk... Well, that is what I am here for. SO, yay me. Heha.
Well, I went to the town in search of food. I could have killed an animal, but, to be honest, I really wanted some booze. Don't look at me like that! My old job required me to visit taverns regularly. It's a good place to get information and meet up with people.
The tavern in Whistlingwillow was pretty average. Loud as usual, and I swear I saw vomit underneath one of the oak tables. I have to say, the servers were pretty hot, though. They were in cute dresses with plenty of cleavage. Hehe. Young, too.
I grabbed some beer and went to the back of the tavern. It smelled like sweat, alcohol, and old wood in this place. I grabbed a few more, also some crappy venison, before leaving.
I was stumbling around, and, somehow in my drunk state, I stopped my illusion and my wings appeared. I also manipulated one of the women of the tavern to strip outside while I watched. She was something.
When my wings appeared, which was after the woman left, a crowd saw. I was stumbling around while a mob started. Some people came with swords and axes, others with weak elemental magic. I yanked out my dagger but decided to retreat while I became sober.
I hid within brush near someone's house. I decided to leave my wings out because I didn't really care at that point. I figured I'd just clean up my mess. I sobered up in a half an hour due to my blood. This is probably going to be the only time this will be a good thing.
I walked out of the brush, dagger in hand. My wings were shiny and reflected the sun. I manipulated some nearby people into working for me. Around five or so. They pulled out their weapons and spells to protect me and kill anyone I saw fit. I sent them out to kill anyone they saw soon after though.
I went out on my own. I turned some other people into puppets as I sent them off to burn buildings and crops. Is this what "my god" wants? Because I can do way worse.
I was bored of getting others to do my bidding and wanted some of the action. I saw a man, mace in hand. I flew in the air and created the illusion of darkness all around him. He started running, but I grabbed his mace and rammed it into his skull. His green eyes rolled out, and his brain seeped into his throat, as a hole was made connecting the two areas of his head by the mace.
I took out my dagger, went into the air, and slashed the necks of all I passed. It grew boring so I went to other lengths to kill.
I found a little girl, around five or so, and manipulated her to grab a dagger. She had her blond hair in pigtails, blue eyes in the sockets. She wore a small, light blue dress. Her parents were nearby, so I had her walk over to them and butcher them. The parents didn't want to hurt their child and begged me to spare her. I found a little humanity, and after she carved up her family, I wiped the memories of that day and kept her with me.
She was silent, possibly realizing her surroundings. Everyone she knew was dead. I didn't pity her, but killing a child left a bitter taste in my mouth. I mean, technically I caused the death of numerous children in the town already, but not by my own hands.
She assumed I was a guardian because, from what she remembered, I was with her while everything was destroyed. She didn't even know how it happened. I pretended and took on the role, telling her that the people around her were bad. I said that she was kidnapped by them and was originally like me.
She held on tight to me as I flew around the city, killing all survivors. I blocked her eyes from the deaths. I might have a soft spot for her. I don't even know her name, though. I honestly don't find names important. That's why I haven't bothered with yours.
I left the burning village, the girl attached to my back. She seemed to like being pressed up against my wings. She rubbed her face against them, commenting that they were silky in her sweet voice.
We traveled into the woods, sleeping under some leaves the first night. She wrapped herself within one of my wings, sleeping gently within. I looked over and fell asleep gazing at her.
She was innocent. It reminded me of myself when I was around her age. My innocence went away quicker then most. She somehow managed to regain it though that all. It must have helped not knowing of killing her own parents, and thinking she wasn't their's to begin with.
She woke me up the next morning. She was sitting atop me, asking me to wake up. She seemed to be hungry, but I had forgotten to stock up on food because of the chaos.
I showed her how to make a rabbit trap and set it up near a hole. I thought it would be a good trick to have. To make it run faster, I controlled the rabbit to fall into the trap. It took it out and slit its neck. I told her that it was okay to kill when she looked at me, sad for killing it. I told her that it's needed for the purpose of feeding us, and it had lived a good life until that point. I then showed her how to remove the skin, and I put it on a spit.
I made a fire and waited for it to burn down. Once it was just hot coals, I put the rabbit corpse over them.
I preoccupied her by teaching her how to hold my dagger and use it. She looked a little afraid, but I eased her. I told her that she may need to use it one day, and she needed to prepare.
I let her practice using the dagger as I checked on the rabbit. It had been cooked enough and smelled great. I took back my dagger and sheathed it. I handed her a leg from the rabbit, and I took the other. She seemed to enjoy it.
I ate most of the rabbit, as she was young and was full after the leg. We got up and shook leaves from our clothes. She followed close behind as I traveled farther away from Whistlingwillow.
I decided not to do anything while with her. I stayed in a clearing with her. I decided to teach her more on how to use the dagger. She slashed up human-shaped targets I created out of nearby wood. She became pretty good, for her age, over the next few days. She was surprisingly bright for a little kid.
I taught her more types of traps, and she started creating them as well.
She mirrored everything I did. Whenever I looked behind me, she was there. She has grown attached to me over the past few days.
I asked her to stay away as I talked with you. Now that you know what has happened, can you possibly take her to the underworld as a request from me? Tell the cat what happened and see if you can make her into a demon. She is convinced she is one at this point and just needs to get that injection.
Thanks. I hoped you could do that. Should I get more people to turn on my journey? It would grow the demon numbers. Then I would have less work to do in this world, as well.
Okay, I'll bring those I see fit. She is just... so young. I need her to be raised in the underworld by someone and can't do it myself. I don't want anything to happen to her. She's a good learner so I'm sure it'll be fine.
Here she is. Isn't she cute? I found out I can use something like telepathy. I just need to manipulate the mind to hear my thoughts. It's weird, but I guess it works. I just need to make sure everything is optional and not a command. I called her over using it. Aren't her pigtails cute?
"Listen I'm going to need you to go with this friend of mine. they'll bring you to a dark place, but don't be afraid. I'm sure I'll see you again. Bye."
Seriously. Thanks for taking her. I'll tell you if I find anyone else. Make sure nothing happens to her. Bye.
