Emily is your average child. She had the cute looks and a positive attitude. Her favorite thing to do was run in the meadow, until she fell into a hole and ended up with a hand print scar across her face. Now she is not allowed in the meadow.

Emma is a girl made of clay. She feeds off of Emily's life so that she can keep hers. The more life Emma takes from Emily the sadder and more depressed Emily becomes, while Emma becomes happier.

In order for Emma to become real, she has to make Emily go in the hole and and bury her. But as Emma becomes more human, she realizes that she doesn't want to take Emily's life, yet she wants to be a full human.
