The Sun and The Moon
Once upon a time, the Sun and the Moon were lovers.
Unlike now, the Moon was the same as the Sun, shining brightly in the sky.
They were lovers and their lights always shined the brightest.
One day, one of the goddesses in Heaven was jealous of their affection.
Because of that, the goddess took away the Moon's shine, separating the Moon and the Sun away from each other.
The Moon was devasted when its shine was taken away. Not wanting to see its lover in that state, the Sun killed itself so the Moon could shine in the darkness without being covered by its own shine.
The Moon was horrified to know that its lover had killed itself for the Moon's sake. The Moon weeped for 13 days.
On the 14th day, a god took pity of the Moon. The god offered the Moon his help.
"In exchange for the Sun to continue shining, you must hide in the darkness and for 13 days, your shine will be taken bit by bit before it returns on the 14th day, bit by bit," said the god.
The Moon agreed immediately.
And from that moment on, the Sun shone during the day and the Moon shone during the night.
The two lovers never met ever again. But the goddess of love gave a gift to the lovers.
On each dusk and dawn, the two will linger in the sky and they will shine with equal brightness, reuniting with each other. And although the meeting was brief, they would always smile and patiently wait for the time where they could meet again.
