You know maybe it's not as bad as I thought. I mean the bunker is kind of comfy and besides all the friends the I never had are dead. So I don't think I can stoop Any lower than this.
Today's Tuesday which mean mom should be going out for supplies. Since dad isn't hear mom has pretty much taken the responsibility of the mother and the father. So that means twice every month on Tuesday mom goes out to get supplies.
But I just can't say that my mom has ever been the same since dad died and I know why.
My mother and father we're probably the best role model couple you could ever meet.
They met in the army. She was a nurse graduated UC Davis and he' was a tech engenier that graduated MIT. They met when he fell off a cell tower he was repairing. Mom said when they met he was pretty heavily medicated and he had this goofy smile that my mom loved about him.
About two years later they were married and had a child my sister Dae 2 years
after that they had me and sometime after that my brothers came into our life.
So if you have a heart you could say losing the love of your life would kill you on the inside.
For about three months my mom stopped eating, sleeping, moving for that matter. So Dae became the new mother of the house.
But after that something just completely snapped and she was back to normal like nothing ever happened and she assumed fathers position.
So as I mentioned today'sTuesday which means going to get supplies. Ever since dad died none of us have been able to go outside since dad because my mom has a fear of us getting hurt too.
As my mom walked out of her room wearing old dark gray sweatpants and a black hooded sweatshirt. She tied up her dirty blond hair into a sort of ponytail bun so would have the appearance of a male.
Stuffing a small pistol in the waistband of her sweats, and taking the satchel that used to serve as my backpack she walked to the stairs that lead to the door.
But something was different about this time. You would think I would always have this uncanny feeling about anything my mom did. And trust me I do. But this was just a very peculiar moment.
One thing my mom was, was a great actor. To put I simply you would have never guessed my mom was women for that matter. And no matter how much she didn't want to be outside she did what she had to do. But before I could even ask her any questions she walked out the door.
Curse you damned mind. I thought to myself.
My sister Dae was walking away toward her room. When my hand shot out and grabbed her arm. She looked at me and I asked
"Did you notice anything weird about mom just now."
She just gave me that look that screamed, Irritation
"If you haven't noticed there is a lot wrong with mom so, I don't even know why you would ask that question." She ripped her arm away from my grip.
I knew that she wasn't trying to be mean, she was just fed up with all the crap that mom put us through but I knew her intentions were pure, so it didn't faze me much.
I stood at the door for another lingering second. A million questions going through my mind but the biggest one was. What the hell was going on?
As if my life wasn't weird enough.
