The van was getting closer and closer to the gates of New York. Everyone looked out the windshield to see the city.

"All right, team. First, we track down Master Splinter. Then we hunt for Karai and free the city," Leo said.

All the turtles' eyes were solid white as they approached it.

"So what's the plan, fearless leader? Ninjay or all-out attack?" Raph asked.

"Ninjay. We park at the gate and sneak in. Then we split up and search for Master Splinter," Leo answered.

"And my father," April added.

Jamie rubbed her arm and frowned at that. She missed her parents and she knew she wouldn't get them back. Raph gently grabbed her hand and she looked at him. He had a sad smile on his face.

"Hey. I know you lost your parents, but you haven't lost your family," he said, kissing her forehead.

"Thanks, Raph," Jamie smiled, hugged her boyfriend, and kissed his cheek.

Then bright lights shown on them and the van slowed to a stop. The army men approached the van.

"Okay, not good," Donnie mumbled.

"Oh, man! They got us, dudes! The jig is up, homeslice!" Mikey whisper-yelled until Raph covered his mouth.

"Thanks. I can hear myself think," Jamie commented.

"Citizen! This is EPF quarantine sector 7B. Roll down your window," the soldier ordered, Casey did so, and then the soldier added, "Authorized personnel only. No one goes in or out of New York City."

"Whatever you say, army dude," Casey replied.

"Who knew Casey could actually be polite?" Jamie responded after the army man left.

"Wait. You see that? It's a Kraang mind control device. I bet they all have them," April pointed out.

"They're all controlled? Like 'Invasion of the Brain Suckers?'" Mikey trembled.

Then the soldiers started preparing their weapons. Casey smirked, flipped his mask over his face, and floored the gas. Everyone lurched backward as the soldiers started firing.

"What are you doing, Casey?!" Jamie demanded.

"Stop!" April ordered.

The van kept going and eventually broke through the gates. The soldiers kept shooting and missing as the van drove out of sight. They continued to go through the empty streets, which was odd.

"What were you thinking, man? You got any brains behind that hockey mask?" Raph asked, smacking Casey's head.

"I had no choice, Raph. They were powering up their blasters," Casey responded.

"Um, guys? Where are all the people?" Donnie asked.

"You-you think the Kraang mutated everyone?" Mikey squeaked.

"No way, not possible," Leo disagreed.

"It's completely possible. I only sense a few hundred people left in the entire city. They're gone. Millions of people just gone!" April replied.

"I sense it too. There's barely anyone left," Jamie added.

"One good thing. We haven't run into any Kraa--" Mikey started then they rounded a corner where there were a lot of Kraang, then Mikey responded, "Oh, no! Why did I have to open my big mouth?"

"It is the humans known as Casey Jones, April O'Neil, and Jamie Dabbs," one Kraang said as they opened fire.

"Kraang! Eliminate for Kraang!" another ordered.

"Man the defenses," Leo commanded.

"Readying soda cannons," Mikey replied.

"Loading breath mints," Donnie added.

The breath mints were put in the soda cannons and the door swung open. Mikey and Donnie stood behind the nozzles, aiming at the Kraang.

"Fire!" Mikey yelled.

The soda was sprayed at the aliens and they squealed and stumbled over themselves.

"It stings! It stings!" they shrieked.

"Bombapult locked and loaded. Launch!" Raph said.

"Take that, Kraang!" Jamie yelled.

A fire extinguisher was thrown at them.

"Uh-oh," a Kraang bot winced.

It let out a green gas, which caused the bots to run away, covering their noses and sort of retching.

"You can smell it," one responded.

"That which is known as stinks," another replied.

"Peeyew!" a third exclaimed.

"Time to go!" Casey called, flooring the gas and escaping the Kraang.

"Take a left. There's a secret entrance to the subway right here," Donnie ordered.

He pressed a button, which opened a hatch and the party wagon disappeared into the sewers.
