Chapter 34: Time to Start the Quests
The guys woke up, still thinking about what happened the night before.
"Whoa, that was deep," Mikey commented.
"Master Splinter made our quest clear. It's time we begin, ninjas. Each of us will forge new armor and weapons, then journey on alone, where we'll be challenged in the spirit realm, the place where the unreal become real, and we meet our ultimate fate," Leo explained.
The guys got ready in different gear, bandanas, and weapons. Raphael had fishnets all over his arms. He wore a white hood and his mask was little longer in the front, but it only covered his cheeks. He still had his sais, but he also had steel claws with blow torches. Donatello wore a purple hood and a skeleton-looking mask. His weapon was still his bō staff, but he transformed it into an ax. Michelangelo wore tree bark armor and had black paint spotted on his cheeks. His mask was still orange but more faded. His weapons of choice were two kamas. Leonardo wore a gray hood and a blue-gray mask. He chose a bow and arrows for his weapon.
They faced each other in a circle with flags with their Japanese symbols on each one. They had serious expressions except for Mikey who was nibbling on some leftover pizza.
"Mikey, stay focused! Remember what Master Splinter said? The things we're gonna fight are just as dangerous as Shredder," Raph exclaimed.
Mikey looked at the pizza, threw it, then yelled, "Hope you like pizza, you lucky magic deer!"
After a pause Leo said, "It's time. Good luck, everyone. Kentou o."
"Kentou o," the others responded and they all separated for their spirit quest.
Leonardo
Leo moved through the misty woods, which was completely silent except for his own footsteps. He stopped to rest until he saw something go past him. He looks but doesn't see anything. But when he turned around, the deer was there. He gasped in surprise, but they looked into each other's eyes. But as quick as it appeared, it ran off into the woods.
"Wait!" he called.
He ran after it and ended up on a rickety wooden bridge.
"Wait!" he repeated.
He finally spotted it, but this time it was standing on its hind legs again. Leo gasped and let out a short whimper as the unsteady bridge rocked a little.
"Whoa!" he shouted.
Before he fell off the bridge, he grabbed the rope and he quickly pulled himself up, panting rapidly. He also noticed the deer was gone. Then something dropped on the railing of the bridge and he immediately recognized what it was.
"A Foot soldier? Was it real?" Leo asked himself as it leapt off the railing.
It attacked him and he sent an arrow flying at it. The bot dodged it and they fought until more bots came and surrounded him.
"Okay, not cool. Definitely not cool," Leo muttered, drawing another arrow.
Raphael
Raph emerged from a pool of water in a cave with only lit torches for light.
"So much for finding a hidden pirate ship. Waste of time," he complained.
He got on dry land and looked around. Something didn't look right.
"Huh. Somebody's gotta be here keeping those torches lit," he said.
That's when Foot bots came out of the shadows holding the lit torches. He gasped as he noticed he was surrounded.
"Aw, sewer cakes," Raph responded.
Donatello
Donnie was on the ledge of a mountain, being as careful as he could.
"For all I know, this isn't even the right direction. Boy, I really miss GPS guidance right now," Donnie mumbled.
That's when he heard a huge smash from above. He screamed from surprise and looked up to see Foot bots with huge hammers, slamming the side of the mountain, causing rock slides to form.
"What the?" he asked, confused.
The Foot continued to smash the mountain as Donnie shielded himself from the falling debris.
"You're gonna bring the whole mountain down!" he shrieked and realized, "Unless you don't care what happens 'cause you're an apparition from the spirit plane."
The Foot hit the mountain one more time then ran down the mountain side ready to fight.
"I hate being right," Donnie chuckled nervously and readied his ax.
Michelangelo
Mikey continued to move with stealth through the smoky forest. He readied himself to see if anything would pop out of nowhere. That's when something rammed him in the ground. He readied his kamas.
"Who's there?" he called.
He was knocked down again then yelled, "Come out!"
He just saw some shadows going up a tree. He listened carefully and when he heard something, he flung a shuriken at the source. The shadow caught it with ease.
"Your camo is so weak, dog!" he insulted.
Then ten red eyes glowed and stared straight at him. Mikey trembled at the sight.
"Whoa. Either I'm wrong about the camo, or I'm about to fight a ten eyed monster," he guessed.
That's when five foot bots were seen when the smoke cleared and they drew their weapons.
"Oh! I was wrong about the camo!" Mikey screamed, running for his life.
Jamie
Jamie finished explaining her dream from the night before to April and Casey. She still didn't understand how this could be possible.
"So you're saying that Master Splinter knew your parents and is okay with you and Raph dating?" April asked.
"Pretty much," Jamie responded.
"But how does he know them?" Casey asked.
"I don't know. The only clue I have is they might've known each other in Japan. My parents told me about someone named Hamato Yoshi when they lived in Japan when I was still a baby. Then we moved to New York. That's all I know," Jamie answered.
"Well, when we get back to New York, we'll look for Splinter first thing," April assured.
"Then after that, Karai," Casey added.
"Who's Karai?" Jamie asked.
They explained everything about Karai to Jamie. How her real name is Miwa, she's Splinter's and Tang Shen's daughter, Oroku Saki was jealous of their love, everything. Jamie remembered the name Miwa from the stories her parents told her. They were in the same clan and after what happened to Shen and Miwa, they moved to New York for safety.
"The pieces are all coming together," Jamie realized.
"What is it?" April and Casey wondered.
She told them the stories her parents have told from childhood.

A/N Their vision quests are crazy so far with just fighting the Foot. But we all know it's gonna be crazier. And Jamie is still trying to understand her dream about Master Splinter. What will she do about that?
