Thank you Senpai?

Izuku was hiding out in the school library. He knew Rumi would find him in his classroom and didn't think she would come search around here. He sighed, dotting random things on his notebook as he studied. The library was usually empty with only the librarian or student assistant taking care of the place with the usual bookworm finding their way in. It was actually one of the secret peaceful places in the school for someone like Izuku.

"That damn Rumi-senpai, if she's in the hero course why is she so antagonistic, and it seems like it only happens to me."

It had been about a week since he met his senpai and he was noticing things about her.

She would only bully and tease him, and it was only when they were alone, going out of her way to attack him during the most tranquil times. She was selective about what she heard when it came to his mumblings. She was quick to hunt him down, and never relented when she thought she found an opening.

'But the worst part is when I can't tell if she's being honest or not...'

Izuku's lips twitched as his blush grew, thinking of the times he thought he heard her earnest voice and saw just as honest actions from her. He had his hand over his mouth as if blocking the words coming out between his grinding teeth. "Despite her attitude, I actually think she has good intentions..." After mumbling it out, he dropped his head in defeat, face-palming into the same hand that covered his words. He took a moment to think about what he just said.  "... Am I an idiot?"

Click. The door to the library opened. Instead of panicking, Izuku just let out a sigh at the unavoidable. 'She was going to find me eventually.' Izuku shook his head, mentally preparing himself for it.

"I found the useless hero!" She barged in without a care. The library's student assistant, Reiko Yanagi, quickly silenced her. Rumi gave an eye-rolling, embarrassed apology. She tried to have an uncaring glance as she looked over at Izuku, who was actually chuckling because he wasn't the one flustered for once. She pouted out her lips, raising her hand up to scratch her bunny ears, a bit annoyed. "Tch."

Izuku, himself was laughing a little louder than he should have and was also trying to apologize, but as he tried to cover his mouth while explaining, he accidentally knocked over his notebook from his movements, and it fell under the table without anyone noticing.

As the noise calmed down, Rumi went to Izuku's table, sitting across from him. She was giving him a petty glare.

Izuku was growing uncomfortable, scratching his cheek, always trying to suppress that stupid blush that grew because of her. 'I'm not going to feel bad for laughing at her! She always does it to me!' He inwardly smirked.

Rumi noticed it, giving him wide, intense eyes asking for sympathy. "Laughing at your senpai is not the proper way to get them to notice you..."

"Well, you seem to n-notice me r-regardless, so..." He didn't realize how it sounded until started to come out of his mouth. 'She's gonna take it the wrong way!'

And she did, suddenly going into her teasing mode. "Hoo, so you notice, me noticing you?" She grew smug eyes as she covered her smirk with her hand, heading over to his side of the table.

"I... I didn't mean it like that!" Izuku replied with a loud whisper.

"Ooh," Because they had to be quiet Rumi lingered next to his ear to say it, "What is it that you notice about me?"

Izuku steamed up at the moist sensation filling his ear, he clenched his fists shut, resisting it. "N-Nothing!" He proclaimed as he barged out of his chair. "B-Besides, I've done enough studying for today!" Izuku had to get out of there, not sure how much more he was able to take before he caved to her. Although as Izuku was getting his things together he didn't realize his notebook was still on the floor, he was too focused on escaping. "B-Bye, Rumi-senpai!"

The bunny girl was amused at his flustered exit, giggling out a bit. "At least he said goodbye this time," She had a smirk, even though it was short-lived she was content with her interaction with him.

It caught her attention from the corner of her eye.

"Huh? What's this?" She bent down, to check what it was, "Isn't this..." Her mouth curved into a smirk when she found out it was one of those notebooks he was always scribbling in. The book itself was laid on the floor, face down on the page he had left it on. She picked it up in between her fingers keeping it open on the same page. "Let's see what we have here."

She scanned through the page, her cheeks heated up as her eyes went further and further. "E-Eh?!"

And Rumi was shushed once again by the library's student assistant, Reiko Yanagi.

Izuku was walking on a bridge that was passing over a bustling city street. "Ugh, I chickened out again." Despite her bullying attitude, Midoriya did feel a somewhat friendship growing with Rummi and he at least wanted to feel like he was contributing to it but every time he tried he just couldn't build up the nerve. "It's always Rumi-senpai that reaches out."

He started to hear a loud repeated thudding sound, "Huh?" He turned his head back to where the sound was coming from. "EH?!"

Rumi was stampeding towards him with and determined look on her face. Izuku lifted his arms up in defense, bracing himself for the impact but it never came.

"You forgot this."  Shoving it into his hands.

Blink, blink. He opened his eyes, confused at the lack of conflict. He stared down at his hands to see what he had given her, "My notebook?" He realized he must have forgotten it earlier. He held the book with one hand as he ruffled the back of his hair with his other hand, he felt a little bad that he assumed she just showed up to cause trouble. "Um, thanks."

"Yup," Was all she said before running off again.

Izuku tilted his head wondering why she wasn't acting normal. "Huh? A bookmark?" He felt it at the edge of the book. He opened it up to the page it was on. The first thing he noticed was the design of the bookmarker, "It's a chibi-bunny!" And the ears were the thing sticking out of the book. Izuku tucked it away, seeing that it was the page he was on at the library. "I actually never checked what I was writing, hehe." Doing that now.

Rumi-senpai only bullies me,

We're always alone,

Her ears twitch when she hears something interesting,

She's amazingly tenacious, and always chases me down!

Izuku's grip was shaking with dread as he read it, "I... I wrote down what I was thinking at the time..!"

And the worst part was that after reading it, there was another sentence but not in his handwriting, able to assume that it was hers from what it said.

You really were noticing your senpai all along, weren't you?

"She read it!" His outburst came with a massive blush.

"Bwahahaha, you're totally helpless after all!" Rumi had been hiding behind a corner waiting for his reaction. Her laughter died into a satisfied smirk. This time she began to leave for real,

"See ya, Midoriya," And the last image he saw of her was a wave of goodbye and that smile that confuses him.

Izuku was left standing in the middle of the bridge, thinking of everything that just happened.

Until,

"Wait, isn't that... Isn't that the first time she's called me by my name?" And he didn't know why but the realization made him feel warm inside, deciding to reread what he wrote as he walked home.
