Chapter One

Ceaderstripe glanced at her mouse then looked back at Burntwhisker, "y- you do?" She mewed hopefully.
Burntwhisker nodded as he padded towards her, stepping over Rubyfur's paw.
Ceaderstripe purred as he touched his nose to hers.
Rubyfur gasped, "I- I thought we were-" she started.
Burntwhisker looked over his shoulder at her, "I'm sorry," he mewed, "I just didn't think of you as a good mate for me, or mother for my kits. Certainly a good friend though."
Rubyfur stood up in protest, "I would be the best mate! I would be an amazing mother!" She mewed angrily, "and I will get a mate and have kits to prove it!"
Burntwhisker nodded, "have fun with that," he looked back to Ceaderstripe, "what do you say, can we ever be mates again, after all of what I put you through?"
Ceaderstripe nodded vigorously, "yes!" She laughed happily, brushing her muzzle against Burntwhisker's muzzle, "yes!"
Rubyfur stalked off angrily muttering to herself.

Ceaderstripe and Burntwhisker padded out of the camp and into the forest. They had decided to go hunting a little.
Ceaderstripe saw a mouse under a small, leafy bush and dropped into a hunters crouch.
As she crept up on the mouse she heard a twig snap and the mouse ran away.
"Who's there?" She mewed after checking that it wasn't her who had broken the branch.
Two cats, a white she-cat and a white she-cat with a brown muzzle, padded out of the bushes guiltily.
"It was me, I stepped on the twig," the white she-cat with brown spots mewed.
"Don't eat us!" The other she-cat mewed with wide eyes.
"Why would I eat you?" Ceaderstripe questioned.
"B- Because C- Cloud said that wild c- cats like y- you eat other c- cats," the she-cat stammered.
The other she-cat laughed a little, "that's my sister Poppy, I'm Seed," she mewed.
The she-cat with the brown muzzle nodded, "y- yeah. L- let's go Seed, before she eats us."
Seed nodded slowly then padded away with Poppy, casting nervous glances over her shoulder.
Hm, odd, Ceaderstripe thought.
Burntwhisker padded out of the bushes with a shrew in his jaws, "didn't you catch anything?" Came his muffled mew.
"No," Ceaderstripe mewed with a hint of annoyance, "two kittypets disrupted my catch and it ran away."
"Oh," Burntwhisker mewed with a hint of confusion, "why would kittypets be in our territory?"
Ceaderstripe shrugged, "I have no idea."
The two cats continued to hunt until Burntwhisker had his shrew and a crow while Ceaderstripe had a mouse and a vole.
They padded back to camp, pelts brushing, in silence.
