Chapter Two
The aesthetic above is Brightpaw of Leafclan, made by Cat_lover321
The cats were about halfway down the mountain. They had decided they would stop by the river at the bottom for a drink and to hunt when they got down there.
Ceaderstripe looks to the sky but suddenly something moving caught her eye. She looked to her left where there was a ball of gray, brown, tan, and white was rolling down the mountain, snow starting to stick to it.
Hazelstripe turns so that her left side is facing downhill and shifts her body weight so that she slides down the snowy mountain after the rolling creature. Froststar just runs down the mountain. Ceaderstripe is baffled by how they can get down this mountain so easily.
Ceaderstripe and the others pick up speed carefully trying to keep up with Hazelstripe and Froststar, still chasing the rolling ball of snow and fur.
Suddenly the ball runs into a rock and stops rolling, breaking its shape and revealing itself to be a young cat.
The cat shakes their head and grumbles.
"What were you thinking!?" Froststar snarls, getting in the cats face.
"You're mouse brained to have been going fast enough to tumble like that!" Hazelstripe growls.
The cat shakes their head, "I wasn't going fast. I jumped to land onto a rock a little further from where I was and I slipped. Honestly, you Frostclan cats think you know everything."
"Excuse me?" Froststar hisses. He turns to face the other cats, "which of your clans is she from?"
"Not Stoneclan," Ceaderstripe mews.
"I've never seen her before," Shrewtail adds.
"She's not from Treeclan either," Pinestripe shakes her head.
"Obviously," the cat rolls their eyes. "I'm Brightpaw, a Leafclan apprentice. I've come here to spy on you."
"So you're a girl," Burntwhisker mews.
Brightpaw growls, "I'm genderless."
Froststar tilts his head "you look like a girl to me."
"Well I don't feel like one" Brightpaw rolls their eyes.
Froststar tilts his head the other way, "you don't fee-"
"Brightpaw should get to decide weather they feel like a girl, a boy, or font feel like either one. It is not your decision" Heatherfur points out.
Brightpaw nods, "thank you."
Froststar shrinks back a bit, clearly embarrassed by Heatherfurs statement.
"Anyways," Brightpaw rolls their eyes, "where are we going? Leafstar told me what to do, but not where I was going."
"We?" Hazelstripe stares down the apprentice, "You are going back to Leafclan. Now."
"No," Brightpaw poofs her tail, "If I go back now Leafstar will be angry. Not just with me, but with you too."
"If you were sent as a spy you probably weren't supposed to roll down a mountain and reveal yourself," Hemlockheart points out, "its your fault, not ours."
"Yes," Hazelstripe mews, "now shoo," she flicks her tail in the direction of Leafclan territory, "go back home."
"Fine," Brightpaw looks to the ground and pushes past Hazelstripe to go back up the mountain.
The cats continue back down the mountain and stop at the river to take a drink.
Ceaderstripe is crouched in between Hazelstripe and Heatherfur lapping slowly at the water. Its nice, clear water. Ceaderstripe sees colorful rocks at the bottom and a few fish swimming away from the cats shadows.
Suddenly the river gets dark. Ceaderstripe lifts her head to see why and notices a shadow looming over the river. She turns her head as a menacing growl gets louder behind her.
"B- b- BEAR!" She screams.
