chapter 6
Sienna Galeon
He is fast. So fast I had to take my heels off to chase him down the hall. I'd seen just the ends of his wheels turn the corner in a hurry.
I turn the corner he went and watch as he rolls into a room just down the hall to the left.
Maybe it's not the brightest idea to follow him. A possibility that he might catch me again, he will probably shoot me this time. I wasn't that dumb to get caught again. I just wanted to see where he was going...
I never got his name.
So I make it down the hall with heels in hand and purse clutched in the other.
I open the door slowly to peek my head in, it was dark inside. It looks like just a regular suite as my eye sight is limited by the moon light shining through the window where a balcony is at.
There he was, back facing me while sitting behind the balcony edge looking down from the highest vantage point I assume.. Imaginging a lit street beneath his view.
Being very quiet, I tip toe in. The carpet flush against my toes, soft and smooth. To be honest, I didn't know where I was going with this but that man as magnified something within me in some way.
"If you have a feeling of lose and want to feel a connection with someone. You must ignore it. Stay away. Or you will feel that desire ten fold. Especially at first meeting someone you think makes you feel a certain way." My therapist said once.
I bite my bottom lip in concern.
All my life I tried to connect with a person, only to feel lonely afterward. My parents always had told me that I didn't need friends or family member around because all I needed was them...
It's not enough.
I want more. So much more.
Tip toeing closer I can see him from the balcony window lifting a phone to his ear.
My phone buzzed in my purse which startles me a little. Making sure he didn't hear the vibrations some how, he was still on his phone, mumbling into the speaker. I couldn't hear him.
Bringing my phone out to check I see that it's my Mama.
'Where are you? We are fixing to leave. You should do the same. We will see you at home.'
I didn't think to much of my reply when I sent, 'in powder room, will leave after done.'
The lie was as easy as texting your uncle Oral that Thanksgiving was canceled. I put my phone back in my purse. Taking timid steps closer where the heavy dark silk drapes hid me, I could finally hear the man talk, "Get ready for the target."
Target? Who is he talking too?
"There they are. Wait on my orders. We need them to leave further down the street away from others, the bomb has distance on it. The Galeons don't deserve an audience." His rich voice says.
Ice, sheer cold numbness stretches through my body like a glacier.
The Galeons?
At this point, I put two and two together. This was a stake out, a mission, an execution.
He places the phone closer to his lips as he says, "ten seconds. Ready, in n--"
Heart hammering, vision blurring, legs moving on their own accord. I reach back with my hand and--
Threw my heels.
Like it was in slow motion, I watched as one of my heels hit point blank on the back of his hand with said phone. The other red heel smacked the back of his pretty head, causing him to grunt and curse.
His head whips around along with him as he whirls the wheelchair with lethal grace. Once he gets a good look at me, an expression of what looks to be exasperation greets me.
His voice sounded just as lethal too. "Did you just throw your fucking shoes at me?"
"Heels," I correct, "yes I did."
He looks more so angry at that, "do you know who I am? How dare you--"
"No, how dare you! You were trying to off my parents!"
I didn't know how to feel about the way his eyes widen at that, then narrow into thin slits, or the way his lips sneer almost to baring his white teeth at me. Fingers whitening to the tight grip he has on the rests of his chair.
"Parents?" He says cooly, almost sounded elated at the word.
Cazzo. "Did I say parents? Cause I must have mistaken. Did you say 'the Gomezs' ....yes....that's what I thought you said." I play cool, making eye contact, schooling my features. Knowing in fact he wanted to do something awful to 'the Galeons' .
Ones fool can make another fool believe a lie.
Only this man is no fool. He takes out his gun and points it straight at me, again.
He pick up his phone from the balcony floor and places it to his ear, "delay the mission. I have another plan."
He hangs up before meeting my eyes, a soft lift to one side of his lip. Oh my God, was there a dimple? If there is so help me Go--
"You are coming with me."
Excuse may?
