#2

You hated your eye color,
You called it a dull and dirty brown.

You wished for them to be green as an emerald.

And it pained me to realize,
That you'll never see your eyes the way I do.

The way your eyes tell a story,
That I wish to read all the way through.

They hold pieces of stolen sunlight,
That you could miss if you don't look close enough.

They have such emotion,
That can pull you into a trance.

They're melted chocolate,
For when I'm craving something sweet.

They hold a gaze that's so unwavering,
That I find it hard to meet.

I fall into your eyes,
Each time ours meet.

They're brown of the earth's beauty,
That I long to memorize.

When I was tired of feeling that I didn't belong,
I found belonging in your eyes,

And now I hope you never ever say again,
That your eyes are simply brown
