It is just about time to unleash the might of my enhanced army. Tonight I had planned to meet with my first lieutenant Mellain and she where she stands with the mission. Later I will brief Holly and we will start shipping them out to our disclosed locations.

There is a certain buzz you get when you have been awaiting this plan you've dreamt about it for years and now that it's happening. Well I am downright speechless. To have it be this close and to have all the pieces fit so well together, it's like a dream come true.

I wait in the debriefing zone for Mellain to arrive. When she saunters in without realizing it I start to act official. Sitting up straighter, fixing the tie on my new white shirt, and clasping my hands on the table where the map lays now.

"Hello Mellain. We shall get started with the plans for the mission. It will be fairly simple as far as your role but we will need help guiding the others to their corresponding locations."

She nods and turns to the map. Seeming to analyze it and trying to figure out my plans before I speak them. I begin to point out the places we will need to set up for and how they will have to be taken care of. The whole time she doesn't say a word, doesn't ask questions, doesn't even seem to be fully into the plan.

"Mellain? Have you been keeping track of the plans? It is crucial for my first in command to know what needs to happen in order for these plans to work. Do you understand?"

She stands there for a moment, then turns to face me. She thinks for a moment and for the first time speaks.

"Sir yes, sir. I also think that it was low of you to take out Gavin, David. He would have been a crucial point because he could board the plane with the recruits and get them through without question." She looks me dead in the face, her eyes locking onto mine. "So here is what I think about your plans."

Suddenly my head fills with a pressure. Then I start feeling like everything is flooding my brain. All the noises of the children training, her gaze showing me deep hatred. Before I felt I was going to black out I whispered out one sentence.

"Why are you doing this to me?" Then I groan because the pressure from earlier is threatening to break my skull open. Mellain on the other side of me is slightly chuckling to herself.

"Oh David. You ignorant human being. First off you killed Gavin without me, and was the reason I came back home to begin with. Second off you let your cronies kill Michael. He was everything but disloyal and yet you let them kill him. What was he to you? What was Gavin to you? No need for you to answer because I know what you really want to say.
"To you both Gavin and Michael were but pawns for you to remove from the game by placing them in an easy spot. But to me they, for a while, were the only family I had growing up. It was not right of you to take them away from me, especially Michael. Now I am repaying the debt you've collected over this short time. I know, but you had to realize this was coming sooner or later. Goodbye David."

Then it all went dark and at that moment I knew. I was dead. Gone.
