EPILOGUE
Ayame laid on her back, her green eyes trying to take in the beauty of the sky. She now realized why Shikamaru loved looking at clouds and wished she could just wake up so she could go see some real ones. She was eager to know what was happening in the real world.
Ayame hated this, she felt useless as she laid in her own mind, lost in here. Would she actually go with her family? Ayame let out a sigh.
She wished she knew what she was going to do because for all she knew, Kuri was telling her lies. The women had done that before which resulted in Ayame almost dying.
The girl squinted her eyes at the sky, sitting up when she thought she saw something within the clouds. A gust of wind came then, sweeping all the clouds away. Ayame let out a gasp, the sky in front of her seeming to crack. The pieces fell down, landing with huge booms all around her.
Ayame let out a scream as a piece looked like it was going to land on her and scrambled out of the way just in time. That was when she decided to try and figure out what was happening. The red-head started to jump on falling pieces, watching as the hole in the sky became brighter as she got closer.
Then she woke up.
~
Tenten let out a groan as she cracked her back and knuckles. "Ne, Gai-sensei, why did you make us do those exercises?!"
Gai let out a laugh, shaking his head at his only female student. "Oh, Tenten!"
The girl let a sweat drop appear on her head, thinking that her sensei was certainly going insane.
"Just deal with it, Tenten." Neri mumbled under his breath, praying to kami that Gai hadn't heard.
Lee gave a thumbs up to his teammates, training more then ever now that foot and arm were fixed. "We must be youthf---."
The boy was cut short by a female voice, one that was all too familiar to the brown-haired girl. "Tenten!"
Ayame walked over to the group, a smile on her face. Her arm was wrapped in a cast as well as having bandage wrapped around her head. Tenten frowned at the sight of her friend, instantly going to ask her what happened but it seemed Neji beat her to it.
". . . What happened to you?"
Ayame titled her head, confused too as what he was talking about before she seemed too remember her current state. She let out a nervous laugh, rubbing the back of her head with her non-broken hand. "Fell down the stairs, no big deal."
Neri narrowed his eyes at the girl in front of him, noting how her eyes were looking anywhere except at the people in front of her. He could also see how nervous the girl was but decided not too pry, seeing as TenTen had already accepted that answer.
"Alright then!" She slung her arm over Ayame's shoulder, starting too drag the girl somewhere. "Let's me and you have a little talk, alright?"
Gai watched his female genin walk away with his friend, wiping away a stray tears. "That is the wonderful thing called youth!"
TenTen turned her smile into a frown, looking at Ayame while she walked next too her. "Tell me what really happened. Now."
Ayame shifted uncomfortably under the hard stare, trying too find another lie too tell TenTen. She really didn't want the girl thinking she was actually going insane even though it was painfully obvious. She had spent years being experimented on, she was bound too go insane one day.
With one more look from TenTen, Ayame sighed, deciding to just tell the girl the truth. "I broke my own arm. On my way to the hospital, I got attacked. There are ANBU out looking for my attacker but so far they haven't found anything."
TenTen's mouth had fallen open slightly, the girl trying too find something to say to the small girl in front of her. "W-wait. . . you broke your own arm?"
Ayame groaned, not wanting too answer anymore questions. She had hoped TenTen wouldn't have pried farther but of course, the girl had. "I did! Why is everyone so surprised by that?"
TenTen frowned, ceasing to walk. She was going too get to the bottom of this even if it meant making Ayame mad at her. It wasn't like she was trying too aggravate her friend, no, she was truly concerned. "Ayame, why? What the hell did you do?"
Ayame let out a little giggle, her eyes flashing with some type of emotion TenTen couldn't identify. "I smashed it, TenTen! How else? Put it right between the door and bang, it was broken!"
Ayame gave a little twirl, another giggle coming out of her mouth. She glanced at TenTen, excitement clearly in her eyes. "Do you think Orochimaru-sama would be proud of me, TenTen? Do you?"
TenTen shook her head, fear in her eyes as she tried to think of someway to get away from her friend. She wasn't in her right mind at the moment and TenTen was literally cared on what Ayame would do. She need to tell someone, most preferably the Hokage.
"Ayame, I have to go now. . . "
Ayame's smile turned into a pout, walking up to TenTen who's back into the fence. "Eh? You're gonna lave me, TenTen? I was having fun talking to you about how I broke my own arm!"
"I-I just remembered I have a mission, Ayame. I'm sorry!"
Ayame frowned, her green eyes looking all over TenTen's face. It was obvious the girl was lying, tears forming in Ayame's eyes. "You just don't want to be my friend anymore, admit it TenTen! I-I just wanted to talk to you but now you're making up lies and everything just to get away from me."
Ayame wiped at her faces, tears streaming down her cheeks. TenTen waved her hands out in front of her, the girl trying to calm Ayame down. "N-no! Of course I wanna talk to you, Ayame!"
Wiithout a second thought, Ayame glanced up, the smile already placed on her face. "Really?"
TenTen nodded nervously, her eyes looking up and down the alley, hoping that someone came down there. Ayame went to go wrap her arms around TenTen but her body seemed to stop, the girl struggling to move.
"Shadow possession jutsu: complete."
TenTen glanced towards the end of the alley where Shikamaru, Kiba and Hinata all stood. Then she frowned, stepping away from the still struggling Ayame while looking at the others. "Why'd you do that?"
Shikamaru made a fist with his left hand and then unclenched it, watching as a kunai fell to the ground from Ayame's hands. TenTen let out a gasp, her eyes wide when she realized that Ayame had intended on stabbing her.
"Lemme go!" The girls voice was shrill, her eyes wild as she continued to struggle against Shikamaru's binds.
"You know it's useless struggling, Ayame," Kiba said, stepping in front of the girl. A frown was on the boy's face, Akamaru hiding his own face with his paws. "Were you gonna kill TenTen?"
Ayame gave a sick grin, her eyes flashing. "So what if I was? Not like anyone would miss her anyways."
Shikamaru frowned, walking forward which caused Ayame too move as well. "Ayame, this isn't you. Fight against whatever is happening."
The red-head let out a growl, making Shikamaru stop where he was for a second before he continued moving. "I know you're still in there, Ayame. Please."
Adam's eyes seemed too sag for a moment before they closed, Shikamaru releasing the just and catching the now unconscious girl. He let out a long sigh, his eyes looking over at everyone that was watching him.
"What? Someone had to stop this troublesome women."
******
Tsunade clenched her fist on top of her desk, willing herself not to send the red-head standing in front of her flying through the wall. "You're still considered an outsider Ayame, no matter how long you've been in this village. You weren't born here and although this may be your home, if you even pose a threat to anyof the people in this village, I will not hesitate to get rid of you."
Ayame nodded, the girl looking down at her feet. She had been briefed on what had happened and didn't know why she had done that, it wasn't like she was trying too. She had been thinking how great it had felt too break her arm and just wanted too let TenTen feel the same pain she had.
Was that so wrong?
"Look at me when i'm talking to you!"
Ayame jumped, her green eyes raising too meet with Tsunade's blue ones. The women sat back in her chair, her eyes flicking over to the door where a knock came and in walked Kurenai.
"Oh, Ayame." She mumbled, walking over to the younger girl and putting her arm on top of her shoulder.
Ayame gulped, looking up at Kurenai who only sent her a disapproving look. The girl's eyes widened, feeling like she had just been stabbed in the heart. Kurenai was the one person she didn't want too displease but she seemed to be doing just that.
Her world was collapsing, just like how her mind had been.
She realized Tsunade and Kurenai were talking about her mental health. That meant going to see more doctors and Ayame most certainly didn't want that. Something about doctors creepy her out and she would do anything to go to the hospital, once again.
"I-i'll leave the village." She spoke up, both pairs of eyes looking at her.
"W-what?" Kurenai said, trying to grasp onto what she had said.
"Where would you go, Ayame?" Tsunade asked, ignoring the look Kurenai sent her way.
"With my family. They invited me to go back home with them."
"You mean to tell me that the family that tried so hard to kill you, wants you to go back with them? Ayame this just sounds like some sort of trap." Tsunade said, her eyes narrowing at the thought. She wasn't as foolish and senile as people made her out to be.
"You haven't met Miyu!" Ayame said, shaking her head as her fists clenched. "She's the nicest one out of all of them and she said my dad has been looking so hard for me! Tsunade-sama, no matter if you give me permission or not, I'm going to leave!"
"You'll be exiled from the village, just like Sasuke if you do that Ayame. Would you like to loose all your friends, just so you can go to a family that tried too kill you? This village is welcoming you with open arms Ayame and even after you screw up, i don't do anything about because I see how much your friends care about you." Tsunade kept her face calm but could feel herself being persuaded by some type of force. She didn't know what it was and wanted to make it go away, seeing as it irritated her.
"Tsunade-sama, please. I must go with them. I don't want to put my friends in danger anymore."
The Hokage let out a sigh, really not wanting to give in but her mind was made. She shook her head as she placed it against the palm of her hand, wanting her headache to go away. "Fine. Only if you come back as soon as I tell you too. You also must send weekly updates we we know you're doing okay. If they stop coming, I'm sending a team of Konoha ninja after you. Now get out of my office."
*****
Ayame blinked, staring at them gates in front of her. She really was going to be leaving. It wasn't like she was going to try and change what Kuri said because what Kuri said happened, usually did. Even if she didn't mean it, Ayame tended to make things happen because she knew about them then.
Ayame glanced around before she saw a girl hiding behind a pole. She furrowed her eyebrows, moving closer.
The girl let out a squeak, trying her hardest to hide behind the thin pole but it did no justice.
She went to speak but a bark startled her and she turned, seeing Kiba standing in front of her. When she looked again for the girl, she was gone. With a pout, Ayame slapped Kiba on the shoulder, now angry with him.
"What the hell was that for?!" He shouted, his face blazing red.
"For scaring away someone!"
They were interrupted from the awkward cough of someone where they saw a man standing there, Ayame's family standing behind him. Upon closer inspection, Ayame saw the girl from before hiding behind Miyu.
"Miyu-chan!" Adam said, grinning from ear to ear as the two girls hugged. She had been looking forward to see the girl again, not entirely believing that she was actually leaving.
Aoi and Burakku scoffed, standing near the back with rolled eyes. They didn't wish for Ayame to come with them, no, they wished for her to be dead.
"I'm going to assume you Ayame then?" The male jonin asked, his eyes landing on the small girl in front of him.
Ayame smiled, nodding at him. "Yep!"
He grinned, patting her head before he started walking. "Let's get a move on then kids. Saki, stop hiding behind your cousin."
The girl that had been hiding let out another squeak, her eyes warily looking at Ayame.
Kiba fronwed, tilting his head which caused Akamaru to do the same. "Wait, what's going on? You're leaving as well? First Naruto and now you! That's no fair!"
Ayame grinned, an idea coming to her mind. "I can't help Tsunade-sama thinks I'm stronger then you so she allows me to leave the village to train."
Kia turned red, glaring at Ayame while he crossed his arms across his chest. "Sure, whatever yo---" He was cut off then, his face darkening a shade of red as he noticed what Ayame was doing.
Ayame stood on her tippy-toes, the girls lips connecting with Kiba's. She seemed perfectly happy with doing it out of the blue and didn't seem to care that Kiba was too stunned to even kiss back.
Ayame pulled away then, her face bright red, sparkles in her eyes and a happy smile on her face.
"Goodbye, Kiba-kun."
